Please make a video where the galactic republic with the jedi attack earth
Can you do a video on what common careers in SW make? We know the credit is close to the dollar, but don't know how good the pay is.
Im so sry for making fun of ukraine war my friend there just died
I am so glad you guys finally did the idea I sent you on Facebook about a year ago go gen tech 😁
i love the sabers in own a saber but a 400 dollar blade, even with 30% off is still 300 over my budget
Han Solo had a bounty and Obi-Wan was a illegal Jedi, and had the most wanted droid in the galaxy with him, but Luke beat them both with unknown daddy issues.
And then there was that whole “sister kisser” thing.
Ha!! An interesting perspective but I like it! You're not wrong
@@c0t0d0s7 so hot
🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮
@@c0t0d0s7 Yeah, but we don’t know what the legal status of that is under Imperial Law, so...
@@c0t0d0s7 now to be fair luke didn't knew Leia was his sister until PAPA Vader told him.
I’ve always pictured that there were two types of interstellar transportations for civilians that are analogous to passenger liners of the early 20th century pre-jet age (RMS Titanic, Queen Marry, etc) and the other being analogous to jetliners (which would look more like the prototype SST designs of the 1960s than a 707 or a 747) that can go into space and go into hyperspace.
maybe like a class 5-10 hyperdrive and slow travel so it is cheap and maybe enjoyable like a cruise
Yeah I’ve also always pictured it like that as well. With things like passenger liners having a class 10-5 hyperdrive, jet liners having a 4-1.5, and finally a hypersonic jet liner like the Concord having a class 1.4-0.5 hyperdrive
That definitely seems to be the case, the travel conditions depend on the type of ship etc. the Clone Wars episode Voyage of Temptation had a luxury cruise ship, the Attack of the Clones movie had Anakin and Padme travel on some low key transporter ship, we have the scene when they eat in the common hall (R2 takes the food for them from the buffet droid servant :)).
@@fantasywind3923 Dont forgett swtor, the republic side, where the first doungeon is a passager ship, who is attacked by the imperium.
Anikin's Passport listed his birth as BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin), just imagining that document in univers. "How do we know this battle at Yavin is going to happen and why does it become so important that our dates become centered on it."
Yeah 😂. In universe it would never be the year used for counting time. If anything the empire might have chosen the empire day as year zero and everything before would be BE (before empire). Somehow I would not think the New Republic would change the time notation. That's such a autocratic thing to do. They'd more likely prefer to start from Ruusan Reformation or something.
I was just thinking that lol. That would be like ancient Egypt and Greece dating all of their events in B.C.
@@jellyfish828 They could've also used ATC (After the Treaty of Coruscant) which ended the first war between the Republic and Sith Empire in 3956 BBY
It would indeed be interesting to know how the Empire and even Pre-Empire Republic kept time and dates
They also put his given name as Skywalker and surname as Anakin.
It's always mind blowing how much Allen knows about the star wars universe
Impressive
*Most impressive*
Between watchng Gen. Tech and Geetsly's, I've become a walking Star Wars encyclopedia
Probably a teleprompter.
“My source is that I made it the fuck up”
Solo: "10,000. All in advance."
Obiwan: "We can pay you 2000 now, plus 15 when we reach Alderan."
Solo: "17 eh? You got yourself a deal."
Alderan gets blown up.
Obiwan: "Well, a deal's a deal. So I guess this trip costs less than I thought."
Solo: Bangs his head against the wall.
😆
AFAIK, Leia(and/or the Rebel Alliance) honored Obi-wan's agreement and paid Han off. It's just that Han took his sweet time getting back to Jabba.
@@sablevo I know. I was just making a joke on how it could've gone.
@@pirateraider1708
Technically Han failed to deliver them to Alderan. He delivered then to the newly created Alderan Asteroid Field, thus failing to deliver on his contract leading to the potential forfiture of all payment unless a new negotiation could be arranged. This was done when he negotiated with Leia to deliver her to Yavin IV. 😁
@@jayt9608 the exact wording was "passage to the Alderaan System"
On landing on the Death Star, the contract was fulfilled
@@musicalaviator
I would generally agree, but there was, by that time no Alderaanian system at which to be. This still leaves him with an unfulfilled contract.
If one thinks about it, these type of unfulfilled contracts are what leads to him becoming Jabba's newest palace decoration. 😁
Makes me wonder if they got interstellar versions of thinks like "Southwestern" an "Continental" air lines.. or in their case interplanetary space lanes...
Where they gotta arrive at the space dock 2 hrs prior to departure an check their luggage with a Droid Teller. While some random alien species loads it as your embarking... An the Human pilot does the pre flight announcements and info spiel while the Twilek Flight Attendants run through the safety demonstrations, checks and procedures for emergencies.
Welcome to spirt airlines where there is a good chance at the end of this flight you might be a spirit
@@scoots291 Yikes. Dark humour.....i love it.
Given what we are shown in the movies, how unimaginably huge the galaxy is, to our RL level of thinking, and how difficult it must be to enforce the rule of a single dept. of a single over-arching government, I would suspect you would only get that level of procedures for Business class and up in the Inner and Mid rim. Lower classes, aside from Steerage, you are more likely "self-serve" other than an assigned seat, with maybe a datapad with in-flight and emergency info. The exception would be any planetary system star line known for the overall quality of their service. And the farther out you get, the more that our airlines level of procedures are scarce, exceptions as noted above. Just my ( lengthly ) 2 bits.
@@barongorn sounds about right. Further clues out that far can probably be guessed from watching the movies an paying particular attention to when a character is making arrangements for such travel. Like in the Original Trilogy when Luke and Obi Wan are meeting and negotiating travel with Han Solo.. in which accomadations can range basically whatever you can think of depending on HOW your traveling and how much you can work out in affordable passage
Trade federation is a conglomerate akin to Amazon. They could have a transportation subsidiary company or something like that
I imagine it was tense knowing that a hyperspace collision to your favorite holiday resort could result in a crash that would annihilate half an orbit of traffic.
For short hops, there was often "taxi" services, in the form of shuttles. Though you could also BUY a shuttle yourself. Shuttles could often be a lot cheaper then a freighter, and while some people think of them "interchangeably" because of things like the Lamda... in reality shuttles could be much much smaller, sometimes only big enough to have 6 seats, MAYBE a bathroom but that was optional, and an endurance of 6-10 days. Rarely however would you want to be in one for 6-10 days, you would generally be in one of these shuttles for a few hours.
And while hyperdrives are expesnive... to a point... you thats the big x1 and x.5 hyperdrives... a little x3 hyperdrive for a ship under 5 tons... without shields or weapons... your little minivan in space is likely going to set you back around 30k used.
While useful for core world travel, if you were going anywhere more then a few hours away... or a day or 2 if you are traveling alone and can lay out sleep in the back... and pee in a bucket.. for longer trips yeah, you would be booking liner passage.
And bring a towel, remember - "If you want to survive out here, you've got to know where your towel is."
Good video, when I heard the price of luxury class, I knew there was a picture of a Chandrla starcrusier cabin coming, I wasn't disapointed if I was traveling in the star wars universe, I'd look for somewhere in between the ships quality, price, and safety, I'd get a cabin if I could, or just be among the crowd, though it maybe rough or possibly hire a small ship, with a skilled pilot (if needed) I'd work off the bill while in transit (again if needed)
I'm pretty sure the republic didn't use BBY for the year code 😂😂😂
Star Tours is the only option for short hyperspace trips.
(Edited for Typo Reparations)
If you're able to, you should explain each government the main Galactic Republic evolved into from the Legends timeline.
Obviously starting with how the Galactic Republic began in the the 25,000's of BBY to becoming the Fel Empire in the farthest known ABY history. So basically the Imperial Remnant. Does that make sense?
And then perhaps throw in how this actually effected people. Explain each government's strengths and how each one became weaker and eventually fell or changed.
I would ask where you got those used light sabres from, but I would guess it has something to do with order 66.🤔
Don't worry the bloods wiped off
Accoring to Disney's starcruiser, they played bingo a lot.
@Generation Tech... have you done a series how the different species in the SW Universe go #2?
Might be fun!!
There needs to be a LEGO set for the civilian transport.
I want to travel on one of these transports!!! I would go to Coruscant!
is nobody gonna tell him?
Something I have fought about how they in the star wars universe counted the years Before A new hope. Like somebody in 32 BBY, if you were to ask them what year it is, they wouldn't say it's 32 BBY. They must have had a system to count the years before a new hope.
I think it's also unlikely that either the rebels or the New Republic would use BBY/ABY. Officially the rebels are the Alliance to Restore the Republic and they'd probably want to restore the calendar the old republic was using. Assuming of course that the Empire even started a new calendar, which is certainly possible but not a guarantee as they might have just stuck with the old calendar for convenience.
I have always liked the galactic republic and empire order...it looks so civilised ... like "chaincode"
Dude made me think I was planning a trip to Naboo or something
To borrow from other sources, there is the hazard of "chump dumping". A ship captain agrees to take you somewhere for a very low cost up front. The ship takes off, reaches orbit, blows a hatch, out you go, and the ship returns to the surface with a very high profit margin.
i love your spin on star wars. thank you.
OMG! You did a video on galactic public transport! I suggested this a while ago as a comment on another video about ships (although I am sure it wasn't just me suggesting it). Thank you! Thank you! I enjoyed it so much. I love it how you do it like you are giving us advice how to get by in the galaxy like we actually live in it. So fun!
All aboard the spacebus
I wonder how transferring property works in Star Wars like one of the weird things I heard of is a person losing their ship in a card game how does that work
Betting your owner's registration perhaps? I guess its like selling second hand car IRL, but with extra gambling hoops.
@@echos5823 people used to gamble there homes away back before such a thing was made it pretty much impossible to be done legally, but people still gamble there cars away in local things
Great vid GenTech! Fascinating vid.
Generally if I am going to take a trip 12 or more hours I always book first class with my own room and bathroom. When you are heading to the outer rim it is best to be well rested with a good meal in your belly welly catered to your room!
allan must be fighting a constant war against the dolphins living in his walls
Oh! That's why there was a controversy about Baby Yoda Eating alien eggs. They were the eggs of a sentient being.
Thanks, this guide really helped. I made it to Naboo safe and in time to visit my family
Fantastic video keep it up your doing amazing job.
I love these Star Wars videos that are just stupidly specific XD
I really enjoy this channel. This guy has a GOOD voice.
It's like taking a public bus to the next town over.
I have a feeling years were measured by the rise of the empire like "15 BE" before empire and "AF" after formation
I like how anakins passport had the dates by “BBY” lol
Wait....6 galaxies? I thought everything took place inside the single galaxy, with a few exceptions of things coming FROM outside the galaxy, like the yu zhan vong(or whatever), but everything taking place inside the single “Star Wars galaxy”.
Well technically we see a couple galaxies as the Star Wars galaxy has multiple satellite galaxies that orbit round it. Kamino is in between the main galaxy and the rishi maze which we see in clone wars
I gotta go back digging, I’m doing an argument in class of why stormtroopers have bad aim, after this of course. First thing I thought of was to come to this channel
Pretty sure it been said the have good aim. Just not when shooting at main characters I guess
But in ep4 excluding the Death Star explosion, more rebels get killed by stormtroopers than rebels kill stormtroopers
They're really good shots actually
I think I heard from one of Simon Whistler's channels that 9 of every 10 soldiers miss living targets on purpose, by that standard they arn't that much more inaccurate than real world militaries, even performing better than the us military in their first shown boarding action. I dont have a link to that vid, or the studies sited, but they can be found.
@@bmetalfish3928 made up myth study completely not based on reality or factual evidence that’s been perpetuated for years
The average conflict has thousands of rounds fired at ranges of 300m+ where soldiers are typically point shooting at areas of cover, not aiming at an actual individual enemy soldier (for the most part typically CQB and snipers being exceptions here, hence also why CQB is so grueling), the hit ratio is gonna be below 1% in any conflict due to the nature of war, nobody is using single shot muskets where they walk into the open to line up the perfect shot on an individual enemy
That false study used the nature of suppressive fire and inaccuracy of WW2 weapons and varying engagement distances to make up some BS myth of soldiers intentionally missing due to “morality” reasons, rather than the actual truth of standing outside in the open results in you usually instantly dying. Rounds for over the enemy’s head not because soldiers are intentionally missing but because they’re behind cover with rounds flying both directions trying to suppress the enemy so they can maneuver and fire and hopefully actually take armed shots at individual targets.
"Wait until you see it's aquatic eyes!" 😂
On Red Dwarf, they had an episode where a show was shown called "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous." This guy reminds me of the host.
You've forgotten the passage level below steerage, Cold Sleep/Carbonite, Where you are not so much a passenger as you are freight. 😁👍
Hehe yup
Hey man I would like to suggest maybe making video about how the rich in the galaxy live their lives. Like their mansions and stuff. I think it would make for a very interesting video.
Anakin's passport at 1:54 uses "BBY" as the year format. BBY means "Before battle of Yavin." This passport expires 10BBY. How the hell? Did I miss an incredibly obvious inside joke here?
nope, looks like you got it.
It seems more like busses and trains. Remember the station wagon of the galaxy from Ewoks movie?
ty. Alan, now I have what I need to forge travel documents, lol. ;) (disclaimer: such a thing should not be attempted in reality. ppl get sore about it. but in a galaxy far, far away.. well theyll still probably not like it, but oh well.) :)
As I engage you with my Count Dooku hilted yellow bladed lightsaber using my mastery of Form 2.
At 4:21, the steaks are a lot higher 😆 Well, when you put it that way, it’s when the chips are down 🍟…a moment to relish 😂
I Imagine that Traveling in the Star Wars Galaxy was Different from Era to Era! As an Example I Imagine that Travel was A lot Different During the Time Before the Prequel Era than it was During the Rule of the Empire and So on!
Just like our world.
Yeah. I imagine it was much simpler during the Republic era. Maybe he could do another video on travel during the Republic. No identichips and chain code.
"... Especially if that planet might get blown up..." I was just about to argue that they have no idea that would happen, then I remembered that Leah called him General Kenobi. Meaning he likely had access to the plans through R2, and had seen them and what the Death Star could do. Which would explain why Ben recognized the Battlestation almost immediately. Having seen the plans and the disappearance of Alderaan would have made it a foregone conclusion. 'I believe that's the thing I was looking at just a few days ago.' "That's no moon..."
Knowing that Leah was captured, and a suspected Rebel would put her planet on the short list of demonstration targets.
Good one
And remember: Keep calm and BLAST THOSE DOLPHINS!
I would love the pay for travel on the Millennium Falcon. Any time anywhere would I fly on the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.
Provided it didn't ... you know... break down in the middle of an asteroid field somewhere way off the beaten track.
Almost 30 years ago I was the head bouncer at a large college Pub and fake ID's could get you arrested at my Pub , I collected 278 over three years and most were arrested. As it happened I was also a freshly minted police officer and even off duty I could arrest and it built me a good reputation with my bosses.
Wow, it's just perfect

wonder how much certain weapons would cost, and what would be best for certain professions in the star wars galaxy.
if I was a moisture Farmer on Tattooine, what should I be looking for in weaponry. i'd imagine old west type affair. rifle or 1 or 2 small blasters
Given the huge variety of weapon types in the galaxy, what might be best for a profession would be highly dependent on how you carry out your job, your personal experience and / or who taught you, and what your targets and opposition would be. I think there isn't always a one-size-fits-"This Job" situation. I imagine, in your example of a Tattooine farmer, that you would want something thats easy to maintain and fix, since parts, and /or weapon techs, would be few and far between. If you have a method to replenish the gas and recharge the powerpacks, certainly blasters are viable. Otherwise you might be forced to use slugthrowers. So something lesser like the battledroid E-5 would be so many spare parts after several encounters with local "difficulties" (take your pick). As for cost and quality, that would be COMPLETELY dependent on your source for the weapons, I.E. avoid jawas like the Plague except for MAYBE spare parts if you KNOW what it is you're looking for. Just my LENGTHLY 2 creds.
I love how you make you rvideos sound like Star Wars is real

Ok so I got a question why did Inquisitors have a double bladed lightsaber and not a single or two sabers?
What about star tours, the largedt travel corperation in star wars

Did you know that in a small franchise, code name - Star Wars - Robots torture and kill each other
🤔 . . . Now do one about Cruises…
So Obi-wan was either scamming Han, or he was betting on the Rebel Alliance to pay the 15,000.
As far as Obi-wan knew, they were heading to a planetary leader's place. Bail could have probably fished 15 000 credits out of his couch cushions, if his planet hadn't been blown up.
Or you can just book passage on a Firefly class transport, that will not be asking any questions
What show is that clip at 2:37 from?
Where is the picture at 7:45 from?
Alan question if you have your own ship and it's armed how are you allowed to travel without getting pulled over 🤔
Do you need special papers to have guns on your ship
Armed merchant ships were more common in the old days when global travel is more difficult, rescue is further away, and communication isnt instantly. So i guess the authorities in SW also allow certain ships to be armed if they have ti be travelling for long time away from civilization.
Did some officers and stormtroopers had informants?
Just don't make the mistake of overpaying for a mediocre trip aboard the Halcyon. All Price No Value.
How deep can that V go, Allen?
