#1 Mod for WRX

- Whether you have an older WRX or you have a newer model, the number one mod we would recommend is the Cobb Accessport.
By installing this device with your OBD2 port you’re going to be able to flash a new tune on your car giving you an increase in horsepower and improving the overall performance of your car.
So if you don’t already have an Accessport, we would highly recommend this mod. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
if you want severe anxiety, get accessport lmao
I’m new to wrxs what does that mean lmao
Lol! DAM yo.
@@sam.fridayyy the accessport shows everything you need to be worried about. The one that makes me worry the most is knock which definitely makes me ease up a bit if I see even the tiniest amount of an increase.
@@thatoneguy9842 Ohhh ok thanks
@@sam.fridayyy me too. I don't know much bout accesport
When you wanna start the timer for it to go boom
access port also allows you to check engine codes and flash them much like a scan tool used in most mechanic shops. along w being able to flash a new tune to the vehicle via the ap you can monitor many variables like your learn and feedback knock, coolant temps, AFR, DAM, boost, intake temps and so much more.
Not to mention voiding your warranties.
Do you buy a car for the warranties or to drive the thing?
Lol right 😂 Funny seeing dudes pull up to the Service port w the Cobbs still in the car.
I know where your coming from man but the type of person who would use this is probably planning to change parts in and on the car so there will be no warranty to speak of for a long shot, it’s why we get insurance and/or “know a guy” when we got serious issues that we can’t fix in our driveways, that is oc a starter mod and down the road of changing engine parts especially in a Subaru you’d be getting the car dinoed and tuned professionally rather than a one size fits all from a online tuner. If you got any questions about after market parts I and or google can help ya
You can revert it to factory settings with it as well. I do this every time I have to take it to the dealer.
@@shakeswigglez3746The dealer can see that everytime you flash it my guy, you’re doing that purely for yourself. 😭
For real? I was gon say an AOS or Catch Can but not an AP!
AOS, a new air intake, brakes, suspension, is stuff that I would focus on preferably, then a cobb access port with a pro tune.
Lol AOS is the biggest waste of money there is. You guys living on unfoundered fear. But you do you bro.
@@thedon9670 👍🏽
Warranty? Who needs a warranty?
AP. Anxiety Producer, I mean Accessport.
TBH, while the AP is a good first mod, I'd have to say an upgraded intercooler might just tie the AP as a first mod. Especially with the FA engine. Tie or really close second.
Don’t you need a AP if you put in a upgraded intercooler
@@Redfeather80no
Just got a low mile fa20 idc about gaining hp just want some cool noises. Do I have to get an ap for an intake and catback ? I want factory reliability with a little extra without throwing my warranty out the window
@@Beatcheeks89yes u need a tune for anything other than a catback. U can get a tune without a AP but it'll be pricey. Just get one, or wait till the warranty
Number one mod for performance, maybe. I'd say the number one mod (and I have AP, exhaust, short-shift, etc.) is the PITCH STOP. Cheap and does not void warranty, and doubles the enjoyment of the manual tuned or not. The STi version does not void the warranty for certain, as Subaru sells it as a mod.
Group n pitch stop was one of first things I installed on my 15 some years ago. It made nice difference banging through the gears, the motor wouldn’t bounce as significantly. I found out the hard way to get that intercooler gasket flush lol, car putted out mid rip on a test drive. I pulled over and already knowing it was likely that gasket and it was. Definitely well worth mod. Short throw linkage cable and short throw shifter is another good one to start
it only adds 10 hp with a normal tune on 91 gas on the vb for 800 dollars that’s horrible
True. I get 30 to 40+hp with stage 2 on 96 gas. 60 to 80+hp on e86
no tuner in history increases horsepower more than 10-20hp without supporting mods. accessport is the starting point. gotta pay to play bub. if $800 makes you flinch then you have the wrong hobby. ive dumped $20k into my subie and i still shop for parts every day without a thought.
@@kloc4995 20k? Try 34k on mine. Who said I don't have supporting mods? I dyno 486 easy.
@@SeemzLegit454 i was responding to op. thanks for proving my point tho💸💸
@@kloc4995 You really have no point. You can stage 1 almost any car with the right map and no mods. Delicious tuning has some. Seen tons of people gain 15 to 25 hp with no mods and no problems. Starting to wonder if you get your sources from Forza Horizon.....lmao.
I’m ok with no anxiety port but thank you
Best mod so far ..
iag aos is a must
Highly suggest the DarkmatterX DM-2 short shifter. It blows all other short shifters out of the water, 50% shorter shifts than oem. Is hight adjustable. Makes your wrx feel completely different making your transmission feel more like an STI. Shifts feel smooth and snap into each gear, and no more wiggles. The DM-2 fits in VA-VB chassis.
Link please to website.
Don't want my WRX to feel like and STI. STI is shit to a WRX.
Can you use an accessport for a remote tune from a tuner? I have a 2011 wrx all stock besides the exhaust and have always been looking for a handheld that can do remote tunes so I can mod it further.
Yes, you can get an e tune. Just know you’ll need many revisions with your tuner online to get your car running optimally.
I wouldn’t recommend it anymore unless you don’t plan on pushing more than stage 2. Great for dailies though and definitely always better than factory tune.
Do you have a Subaru
@@Krayzieboy99 nah sold that shit for a q50
@@DoomDeityexcellent choice 😂 which did u get
what the hell does stage 2 mean is it a hp thing??
@@WhoopEaterz it’s our weird way of stating you added mods to the car at bare minimum. Stage 3 is down pipe and what ever gives you more torque.
Any upcoming products for the Subaru Ascent
Ya a cup holder for all family members.
Question for everybody, I have a 2006 Subaru Legacy 2.5Gt Spec.b with no engine or trans just a car ready for a swap. What kind of engine should I put in that would be the easiest with no wiring harness swap or welding new motor mounts. Also trans?
Ls3 😂😂
Song? I remember it being a classic but forgot the name
What wheels are those?
Better off getting a pro tune over an OTS tune
100% agree
Lmao how long ago was this recorded
Cause at this point open source or pro tune is the way to go now
Just keep it stock .. no one does and they end being worth more.. exhaust is fine
The moment the VA wrx are considered old models 😢
It’s been almost 10yrs since 2014. Crazy!
@@Redfeather80 thought they came out at 2015
@djbrownies the 2015 wrx was released in 2014 just like any car that releases the year before the title of the year of that car.
Dose this work with manual and automatic or just automatic
both
song name?
I had one before the update I don’t see it as good as it used to be at all and def not really worth the money
I don't lose my warranty by using this Cobb?
The warranty claim can be denied the moment you add a tune to your car.
Anxiety port. I have one.
Yea just put an off the shelf tune on your completely stock engine, it totally wont freak out your stock boost and increase your engine stress 😂
And make sure you have 5-10k for a new engine! Warranty out the dizzo
I got a 2020 stock WRX, what can I do to make 100 more HP to the wheels
A simple turbo could do it but it may make it a little unreliable
@@ItsWilliamBtw May do that further down the line, looking more for reliability for now
@@MissionMarquetMotors you could add a exhaust system it wouldn’t add 100hp but you can get thet deep burble of that 4 cylinder
Turbo, injectors, intake, downpipe and catback
Won’t this void the warranty?
Yes! Very
Immediately lol
Just wait until your warranty is up and then get it.
@@brooksdemoyeah.. I got 50k more miles till my warranty is up 😂
Real talk. If you are considering an accessport/ new ecu, get it properly tuned by a professional. Otherwise get something that actually matters like oil management upgrades. Get a better oil pickup and baffling.
If ur gonna modify your car for performance I recommend going to another platform.
Facts
I thought WRX was a really modifiable platform?
Same @@Grastiars1
#1 mod is gonna be a new engine when the first one inevitably blows after the break in period.
Where’s Kevin
Don't waste your money on a Cobb if you're wanting to do major upgrades.
Green speed killed that as an option.
Yay! Let’s flash an unknown tune to a turbocharged vehicle. What could go wrong?
theres a ton of reliable tuning options on the cobb website
Why does that void the warranty? What does it actually do. New subie owner 2021 wrx base stock 30k miles looking at AIG Aos and invidia R400 blacked tipped exhaust
The reason is that since you are changing the original conservative tune that comes from the manufacturer, they do not want to be held liable for any damages that may occur to your engine due to the extra stress.
I have to be the only Sti owner who absolutely fucking hates accessports. Tactrix is where it's at.
Accessport = anxiety
Yeah no don’t do that
Sure but it’s $700+ bro
Wrong, AOS should be your first mod
And you won’t have a warranty anymore
Maybe 10 years ago but not anymore
How would you ask your dealership if they are ok with the stage 1 tune? I’ve emailed my guy a couple times (not just by itself always with something else) and it’s been ignored. I’m not sure if intentional or being ignored.
I was running a OtS stage 1.5 mod on the AP and threw a rod. Subaru did not cover the engine under warranty and the new engine was on me. The second you flash your ECU you have lost your warranty and SoA will fight you in court if you have a 2018+ model.
I've recently asked and they said FBO mods are fine. So, intakes, pulleys, exhausts, ICs, etc. As soon as anything touches the ECU, you're on your own, pal 😅
@@snoopyalien24 seems to be the answer I have to accept. No more power for another 6 years for me sadly.
No the most beneficial model you can do the WRX is probably a AOS
What map is best for me? I have fmic, big sd intake, aos, and a Catback 2020 STI
I’ve got a 2015 wrx. I did a lot of research on the first thing to throw in the car and I did catch cans, aos is also good
If you run an OtS map don’t beat on the car and get an actual pro tune. Highly recommend shinji tuned if you want to just do an e-tune.
A pro tune is the best map for you and you shouldnt even have the intake on it without a map
DO NOT TUNE A NEW VEHICLE. IT WILL VOID WARRANTY
I bet you’re fun at parties
*Laughs in open source*
Don’t hate me for this but I only like older Wrx or Sti under 2018
New wrx look kinda like 🤐
And just like that you loss me
First class ticket to blown motor town
(Newer subies are highly sensitive to pre det so ur tune has to be as solid as the glass protecting the president)
Aaaaaaaand it blew up....
🤣😂
And a decrease in the life of the engine.
I don't recommend cobb
Stop. Please don’t follow this. For new to subies, I would not get an AP as a first mod. Esp with the new FA24. Jeezus. Maybe an IC or AOS first!
IC ?
I just got a 2018 wrx myself, luckily it only has an intake an exhaust on it . I want to keep it for as long as possible and reliable so I don't want to do much, i was thinking of an air oil separater though to help with some of the engine's weaknesses
@@CaelluxIC = intercooler. Intake requires a tune. Don’t believe anything or anyone that says it doesn’t.
@huhinteresting yeah I was thinking because this wrx already has an intake and exhaust it may be worth grabbing an accessport just to help monitor more vitals, and just a light tune to make it reliable. It's going to be my daily for a while , luckily I work from home most of the week but still. A new TMIC would be nice though because a few of the fins on mine are a little messed up and I didn't want to chance it manually straightening them out
can u cobb tune with stock engine?
and youll be rebuilding the motor in a month
I thought definitely #1 mod Perrin intake
Definitely don’t recommend for the my22 gt model
Dubruex
Nah get an AOS first
Can't support a company that fires a great employee like Kevin Vo. 🐍🐍s
😂😂😂 no. Get a link gx4 ecu. The end.
I mean that device let's you choosw when you want your engine gone
nah bud link ecu and grab a laptop
Warranty gone and insurance gone
They are a Piece of Crap. Mine Melted lol
Thinking of buying a wrx just know that if u put alot of performance part you will only make 315 hp 😂😂
Dp intake and tune you can make 350 plus on e
Rubbish!! don’t get a Cobb accessport save the money..
Very misleading
Cap 🧢🧢🧢🧢🧢
Head gaskets left the video
False. They were an issue with older NA applications. Try again.
wouldn't buy one for a shitty subaru the gasket will just fucking blow
That problem was fixed in the VA generation. Nice try tho 😜
