I didn't watch this at all live this year, but it almost seems like Ben Smith got a lot less PR as a returning champ than Rich ever did.
It's essentially the same as when Graham Holberg won over Rich in 2010. Nobody saw him as the "real" champ, the same way most people saw Matt losing the 2015 games, not Ben winning it. I think everyone knew Fraser would win this year.
