Males in Fall/winter & females in Summer/spring. Then the most known species of deer, the White tail deer, the female don't grow antlers.

The only visible sexual dimorphism cassowaries have is size, females are usually much larger than males. Also(like all ratites) it is the male cassowaries that hatch the eggs and raise the chicks, the females just mate, lay the eggs, and bounce.
Also also, dodo birds apparently did have sexual dimorphism, the females were apparently much lighter and had shorter beaks.

Tbh Sawsbuck still having horns makes sense in the context of Pokemon having much more of a reason to keep them for fighting reasons, as it's implied all- or at least the majority of- pokemon have an instictive desire to battle. I imagine not having horns to protect it's newly hatched/born Deerling would just kind of be a disadvantage!

They should have kept up a lot of the gender differences. They just kinda gave up. They do it for a handful of special Pokémon like Indeedie, Meowstic, and Unfezant but they use to do different things for all of them. Even if it was something like a horn being smaller/larger.

I think that since a male Lanturn would be a different type, I think that it should be a different pokemon altogether, maybe a split gender evolution instead of a gender difference, since gender differences don't change the type.

ngl, dodrio with the blue heads looks kinda sick. I actually REALLY like how it looks. If you showed me that I would've thought it was a regional variant or something.
Oddly enough when you brought up Sawsdoe, I was immediately remindeed of how they never reall did the Nidoking/Nidoqueen thing since; stemming from sexual dimorphism but evolving into different pokemon.

i think you just accidentally designed some perfect regional variants, but since they're diversifying the way they revisit older designs.. maybe the whole concept of gender differences itself could do with a revisit

hey, if you want nutso gender differences, i got two words for you: Blanket. Octopus. weight ratio of 10000 to 1 female to male. females are 6 ft 7 or so, males are 1 inch long. there aren't any pokemon based on the blanket octopus specifically, but any number of the cephalopod pokemon could be WILD with that thing.
