We can end up spending a lot of time behind desks in the filmmaking industry, so getting outside for shoots in wild places is always a treat. There really isn't any better way of melting away built up stress, and reminding ourselves of the big wide world outside that doesn't care if you hit that deadline or finish that thing.
Shooting Hydrotherapy with Laura in Snowdonia has been an incredible experience. The landscape of Snowdonia is stunning, and despite the cold, water, mud and hills, if you can get to the place and hit record before your kit gets broken, it's not too hard to capture some beautiful scenes.
Cut to now, and we are all locked in for most of the day with trips cancelled, projects on hold and cabin fever starting to set in... Now more than ever, seems like a great time to put together some of those drone shots form something calming and beautiful. This time there’s no fancy editing, no real message, just some peaceful shots of wild landscapes with some music (and a bit of lush colour grading from Fin Davies). Editing this was really relaxing and I hope you can find some enjoyment and stress relief in viewing it. Optional extra: put a fan in your face and hold your arms out, or don't if you’re a nerd…
For any camera geeks: The drone is a Mavic Pro 2. This was my first time flying it and my god was it better than the last drone we had! The picture quality is awesome with lots of info to play around with in post.
