Im really looking forward to Nick Offerman as Bill, Nick Offerman is already the lone wolf handyman survivor type, so him playing a slightly crazy even more isolated version of Ron Swanson will be awesome. i hope we get alot more of Bill and Frank's story, more than just a note and a dead guy in a Hawaiian shirt!
Honestly such a great chance for Nick to flex his amazing dramatic chops that most people don't get to see very often. I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't as subtle with Bill's relationship with Frank in this show and crank up the emotion.
Not all video game adaptations are the same. There is a VERY clear difference between, say, the Halo show (where apparently the showrunners hadn't even played the games) and this. This show has a shot at being a genuinely good show, and not just "good enough for a video game adaptation". Neil Druckmann, writer + creative director of the first game, is co-writing the entire thing (AND he's directing an episode) with Craig Mazin (wrote + showran Chernobyl. Is a MASSIVE fan of the games and campaigned execs to make this adaptation a TV show, and not a 2hr movie). They've picked a STELLAR team of directors: Kantemir Balagov (won a Cannes award for directing Beanpole. It was also shortlisted for an Oscar), Jasmila Zbanic (Oscar nominated movie, "Quo Vaids, Aida?"), Ali Abassi (the weird and great film, Border), Liza Johnson (One of the best episodes of HBO's Barry), Jeremy Webb (some of the best Punisher S02 eps), Peter Hoar (some of the best Daredevil S02 eps). They've got a solid cast, too. So yeah. I am VERY optimistic about this. And I am keeping an open mind and not going in expecting a 1:1 of the games. This is an adaptation, after all!
Very great way to put it. There’s usually always differences between movies, games and books/comics of a particular series. It surely will be interesting to see how they make this into a show series. My worry is parts of the story will be rushed to accommodate the 10 episodes said to be in the first season. Some shows tend to skip particular details. But who knows, maybe more detail will be added which would be great. As long as they don’t tamper with the overall story and characters, it should be good.
There's no way they fail with this. The Last of Us games directed their voice actors perfectly. Hell, we've had movies like Logan basically rip off the first game and that worked very well.
@Chandler Burse There isn't actually any Wolverine comic series that's similar to the Logan movie. There's Old Man Logan that had him in a sort of dystopian future but aside from an older Wolverine, it has no similarities to the film. Logan is entirely a rip off of Last of Us. Was a good rip off, but was still clearly based on the game.

As someone who lives in where they filmed the series, (Alberta Canada) it was so cool seeing destroyed roads and firefly symbols on my way to work. And Canmore (one of their filming locations) looks exactly like Jackson!
The interesting thing about the fungus in this game is it has stages, which is how you get the different infected enemies. The scariest part is once they die or reach the end of their cycle they turn into those piles of fungus on the walls and floors which continue to infect. It is a terrifying cycle that would run through the population unbelievably quick.
Also it was confirmed that both Ashley Jonson and Troy Baker have roles in this show I know their capabilities to modulate their voices but it's going to be weird
I have a gut feeling Troy will be playing David . Which with how great of an actor he is I know he will make David 10 times creepier which idk if it's possible
Honestly I absolutely loved both Part 1 and Part 2 equally both are very remarkable games according to me the impact it has on you as person is just freaking amazing it is a damn roller coaster ride of emotions. I simply cant wait for this series.

You have no idea how much of an understatement this is Cynth. After Watching the first episode at fcking 3 in the morning when it dropped... *WOW!! HOLY. CRAP!!* The first 30 or so minutes had me on the edge of my SEAT!!! And you were right at 8:53, there's one scene in particular (if ya'll know what I'm talking about) which i know happens in the very early hours of the game that actually got me hyperventilating, crying on the inside whilst also shedding a single tear. It hurt like hell. The rest of the episode, pretty good. Pedro Killed it as Joel and Bella, she's got a good hit on me as ellie and... the rest ya'll have to watch for yourself. As someone who watched the playthroughs of both Parts 1 and 2, I knew the events that happen in the game after watching them, yet THIS FELT LIKE MY FIRST FUCKING TIME WATCHING IT!!! i would like lets say they had 6 or 7 seasons plan the 1st season being about the first game and then then the next 5 being about the 5 yrs between the two games to show you what went on like how ellie met dina and jesse and other stuff and then the next season be about the 2nd game and then the final season takes place after the end of the 2nd game to show what happened with ellie and dina or tommy and maria im still holding on that there will be a part 3 in the game series please let me know what you think
I have a feeling that the scene with Ellie being chained up will be after she's been bit and found by the fireflies. I don't know if we're gonna get as far as the cannibal village in one season. They also seem to be connecting the chain scene to Ellie looking at the Firefly motto, which David and them would not leave up on a wall

From this trailer seems like ND is staying true to the game...telling the story, but to the perspective of those who have no idea what The Last if US is, yet from the gamers point of view....if they can pull that off this will be the greatest series of all time.

I've seen commenters on some other TLOU playhtrough videos spoiling TLOU2's story because they still can't get over Joel having to face consequences for his actions. Not a lot, but I wouldn't expect the worst of the gaming community to exercise any kind of discretion with people new to the universe

I say this cuz it is preceeded by a shot of the room Ellie is in, with FF graffiti on the walls. 5:46 That, I believe, is Bill. Looks like he is keeping watch on his town via security cams. And judging by the crowd of soldiers and people on that feed... looks like this is early on in the outbreak. Bill is probably hiding so that once the military evacuates everone else, he will have the town to himself. The seasons ARE a little fudged in the show on account of production reasons. So our journey seems to start off in early fall as folks are wearing jackets. 8:10 Marlene is actually being played by the actor who played her in the games: Merle Dandridge. A few other game actors have been confirmed to be in the show, too 10:15 for a split second, I thought that was Jon bernthal too lol. But that's a clean-shaven Gabriel Luna, who is playing Tommy 11:30 I think that IS tess sitting in a chair, being interrogated by FEDRA folks. There is a close-up shot of her being all beaten up, in a similar looking shirt (earlier in the shot, we see soldiers being gunned down as she runs away). So, I imagine the explosion gave her the opportunity to escape. Looks like a flashback.

it is funny, usually I am not someone who cares much about casting in movies or series, whenever someone was complaining i was gonna be "oh, its fine", here it is the opposite: the locations, the editing, the props, the fx for the clickers, all looks freaking amazing, the only thing I am not keen on is the casting.
Marlene is played by the same actress from the games, the only actress to reprise the role

i would like lets say they had 6 or 7 seasons plan the 1st season being about the first game and then then the next 5 being about the 5 yrs between the two games to show you what went on like how ellie met dina and jesse and other stuff and then the next season be about the 2nd game and then the final season takes place after the end of the 2nd game to show what happened with ellie and dina or tommy and maria im still holding on that there will be a part 3 in the game series please let me know what you think
I have a feeling that the scene with Ellie being chained up will be after she's been bit and found by the fireflies. I don't know if we're gonna get as far as the cannibal village in one season. They also seem to be connecting the chain scene to Ellie looking at the Firefly motto, which David and them would not leave up on a wall
The shot of Ellie’s face full of blood with Joel trying to get her attention before the Clicker shot is very likely their version of the aftermath of David.

I love the LAst of us games and I even have the comic that features Ellie and Riley, the last of us american dreams. I can't wait for this, the trailer made me even more excited for this. The clicker looks so amazing, scary but amazing! I can't wait. I've done a reaction to it.
From this trailer seems like ND is staying true to the game...telling the story, but to the perspective of those who have no idea what The Last if US is, yet from the gamers point of view....if they can pull that off this will be the greatest series of all time.
9:03 One _hundred_ percent in agreement. I was very impressed with how the Song of Ice and Fire fans by and large understood this and kept quiet knowing it was the right thing to do. But honestly I have a very low opinion of 'gamers' as a general demographic and I'll be very pleasantly surprised if the gaming public shows any semblance of discretion whatsoever. Maybe I'm cynical.
I've seen commenters on some other TLOU playhtrough videos spoiling TLOU2's story because they still can't get over Joel having to face consequences for his actions. Not a lot, but I wouldn't expect the worst of the gaming community to exercise any kind of discretion with people new to the universe

4:15 Chained-up Ellie... I imagine that is either Ellie under observation by the Fireflies to verify her immunity. OR, she is being held by marlene until she comes back with Joel and Tess. I say this cuz it is preceeded by a shot of the room Ellie is in, with FF graffiti on the walls.

And judging by the crowd of soldiers and people on that feed... looks like this is early on in the outbreak. Bill is probably hiding so that once the military evacuates everone else, he will have the town to himself.
The seasons ARE a little fudged in the show on account of production reasons. So our journey seems to start off in early fall as folks are wearing jackets.

The explosion in the scene looks like Tess dropping a lighter to cause the explosion. Its a little out of order, but they may have changed the notes on how her story concludes.
it is funny, usually I am not someone who cares much about casting in movies or series, whenever someone was complaining i was gonna be "oh, its fine", here it is the opposite: the locations, the editing, the props, the fx for the clickers, all looks freaking amazing, the only thing I am not keen on is the casting.
