    • @sreenmobilesouthoc
      @sreenmobilesouthoc  Před 4 lety +1

      You do lower your inside height, but that measurement varies depending on your garage door and door opener combo. I have had a couple customers that were able to still pull their SUV's in to the garage. I'd say the best bet is to pull the truck in, and measure how much clearance you currently have. You will loose on average 4", some loose as little as only 2".

    • @sreenmobilesouthoc
      @sreenmobilesouthoc  Před 4 lety +3

      It has its own track that fits underneath the garage door track. It stops short of the opener. The j arm is the thing that hangs down lowest and has to be considered and often cut down to maximize clearance.

    • @screenmobile8779
      @screenmobile8779 Před 2 lety +1

      I typically recommend the white privacy mesh for that situation. You do loose about 10% air flow, but you are dealing with a huge amount of square foot of ventilation. I believe the sacrifice is low for the amount of privacy you gain.

  • @CoroaEntertainment

    Are there any safety features built into the screen install to keep the main garage door from closing while the screen is down in place? I ask, because some newer garage door openers are now coming with a built in "timed closure" feature, that will automatically close the garage door after a preset time if you happen to forget to close it yourself after leaving home, or when you go in for the night. I can see some damage being done if there isn't a safety mechanism in place to stop that from happening.

    when the screen is closed, would the garage door close w/o any issues (like catching/snagging onto the mesh) OR must the screen be fully open, not closed, prior to garage door closing (in event someone forgets this step)?

    • @sreenmobilesouthoc
      @sreenmobilesouthoc  Před 11 měsíci

      There is a safety feature that blocks the "beam"for the garage door sensor on the lifestyle door telling the opener that something is in the way so the garage door opener will not roll the door down. The only exception would be if you didn't roll the lifestyle door up all the way. If you don't get the bottom wheels over the side rails at the top then there could be an interference. That would be do to neglect to just not put it up all the way.
      As a side note....You can have the screen down and pull the release for the garage door to use it manually and get both doors down pretty close to all the way. You would do that if you had storage above the garage door to access.

      Yes, they have a felt strip going around the door as well as using the seal on the existing garage door. I would think a roll down screen that mounts on the exterior would be your best bet. But I would contact your local Screenmobile for recommendations. We don't really see those garage doors here in my area so I don't have a ton of experience with those. Go to www.screenmobioe.com and enter your ZIP code for your neighborhood Screenmobile.

      This system did not have a lock but they are available to add to them so that they cannot be opened from the outside. There are a couple of options for a center door, This system does not have a door in the middle, but you can have a retractable door or swinging screen door in the middle section and both have a locking option. Hope this answers your question. Feel free to give us a ring and we can go over all of the options for these screens. You can always go to our web site at www.screenmobile.com/south-Orange-county

    Can I close the garage when the screen is down?

    • @screenmobile8779
      @screenmobile8779 Před 2 lety

      There is a safety feature that does not let the garage door to operate when the screen is down via the garage door opener. You can manually release the garage door and toll it down to access shelving or cabinets in the front of the garage. You will pull the Lifestyle off of the magnets and back a bit for the garage door to come down in front of the screen. They will not both go all the way down at the same time, but will be very close, I think it's about 12" or so from closing all the way down.

      These are a pretty complicated installation. I would not recommend trying to install this yourself. It takes us 2 experienced technicians 3-4 hours to install. Not to mention the screening portion, if you don't have experience screening large openings you'll never get the screen tight. My advice, Leave this one to the professionals.

      Often times there is no loss of entrance height. It does depend on your garage door setup and how the lifestyle for is installed but the maximum height loss is 2" from the bottom of the j bar that connects the garage door to the motor. Basically the size of the frame.

    So you've eliminated about 6 to 8 inches of vertical space for trucks and SUVs to fit in the garage, correct? Especially if they've got bigger wheels and tires or a roof rack. He left a real shitty reply for someone else I read so I'll make this clear.
    An educated professional doesn't improve the quality of the door handle not being able to be tightened more to not fall down. An educated professional doesn't change the fact you now have to back into your garage so the screen will close. An educated professional doesn't fabricate longer metal track rails on the side to make the screen fit higher up in your garage so you can still park your truck or SUV in it. An educated professional isn't going to be able to magically mount the brackets in a different area so the screen doesn't fall off its track. It's a simple bolt in installation. So when he leaves a smart ace reply telling you that your screen door sucks because you installed it, he's full of shish. Don't buy this product.

    • @sreenmobilesouthoc
      @sreenmobilesouthoc  Před rokem

      2" is the frame size and that goes just under the j bar. So 2" from the j bar. Often times it's less when measured at the garage door opening since it can go up above the door opening. We will typically cut the excess j bar hanging down to maximize clearance. So I'd say 2"is the average.
