It's the same character but nothing is repetitious. New revelations about her life in every appearance. What a brilliant, gifted performer.
Barry Humphrey’s is a genius. Perfect timing & delivery. Many years of practice & experience. Unlike today’s so called comedians who just seem to march up & down the stage effin & geoffin, ranting & raving at everything. 👍

I Once I discovered the famous Dame Edna I devoted every moment to find her on CZcams.? Sadly she is retired but it was her choice to do so.. she is funny and unique.
Every compliment the Dame gave these women was two-sided and lined with sarcasm and wit. 2:37 "These women, underneath, are really very refined." 4:12 "You're wise, in some respects."
A lot of his fellow Aussies didn't like him or perhaps understand the wit. Considering that a huge portion of our Ausie population have Jew blood like Barry does.

Dame Edna..... a truly fabulous lady. Edna is the funniest lady on TV. With the “loose women” show, these clips are amongst the funniest I have ever seen. Excellent.
The greatest male comedic talent on earth is Sir Les Patterson, in second place is Dame Edna Everage and last but not least is Barry Humphries :) I'll miss his work.
This is what we used to call wit, doesn't seem to be much call for it these days, like music etc. No surprise really, we are in a witless society nowadays.
They need a sharp wit to give her something to bounce off, but rarely does someone manage it. One of the best with Dame Edna was Robin Williams, the only person I ever saw who outshone Edna and actually made her laugh a lot. They were epic together, but just like Edna, Robin was sharp as a tack.
