What a difference just cleaning the sidewalk makes. Looks nice.
I would love to see follow up videos on this property. The sidewalks and walls need to be pressure washed. You did such a great job. You deserve the bid. It's nice to see people taking pride in the history of their towns/cities. It's important to preserve the past as much as it is to embrace the future and enjoy the present.
I kinda hope we get it as well. It would be kinda cool to help preserve some history.

They would be stupid NOT to give you the bid for the job! You just showed them what you are capable in doing, showed your work ethic, concern for community, & your integrity!
when you are forced into a bid procedure there are laws preventing you from "handing over," a bid to just anyone you choose. They would be in fact "stupid," to set themselves up for a lawsuit from other bidders if they were to do this so they cannot. It's legal mumbo jumbo until someone takes you to court and then it's real. If it weren't a city or state entity that has to go into bidding procedures like this, then you could pay or not pay anyone you picked. Not the case here. Laws are laws.
Intersesting how they can let it get in such a bad condition. If it was my private property the city would be all over my case with fines. 🤔
I was thinking the same thing, if this were private property it would be tagged all over the place by the City.
And if they were maintaining it, you'd complain about paying taxes

Looks sooo much better. Was surprised to see very little paper trash, etc for how high the weeds were. Love the stonewall and wrought iron fence, old architecture is beautiful. History and historic buildings should be preserved.
What an outstanding job of cleaning up...and at no cost to them! Such a shame they fall back on the *liability* issue. That's what waivers were created for. Any attorney worth their salt would have known that. I hope others in the community took notice of your hard work in attempting to clean up a historic landmark. I'll look forward to seeing more of your videos once they award you the contract for the entire property!

Thanks to the sue happy mentality of the public I can see the refusal on the grounds of liability, however, in my mind if someone comes in and offers a service free I would be thinking the person or persons offering the service would be above such a thing. I was surprised they didn’t offer to have you sign a waiver, releasing them from a potential suit. Nice looking job sir, your community should pleased with your effort. Thanks for the ride along sir.

Riding the City shuttle bus(door to door) ,they take people places that don't drive, I saw an area that needs grass/weeds removed from cracks in broken sidewalks and driveways. I wish I had a way to get there.

I think it’s more about money rather than liability issues which is stupid as they’re going to have it done before it becomes more of an eyesore than it is now in what looks like a nice neighbourhood.Anyone else letting their yard get in that state would be given a city violation order.
The city have their own gardeners who could do it.After all that’s what they get paid for.
It should be a no brainer to give the contract to a bidder who cares for the way the community looks and who has already demonstrated they would have done it for free had it not been for liability reasons. Wishing you both the best for your business and family 👍🌻🙏

I didn’t see any police in the video. If they were so concerned about how it it’s a liability to have it done for free they could have signed a waiver.
They kept driving by and at one point they got out of the car and stood on the other end from me. The camera has such a wide angle lens that you can’t see them at the other end. I thought they were going to come talk to me but they just got back in their cars and drove off.

Sure looks better , that's why I mow. It just makes you feel good about what you are doing . I haven't watched the channel in awhile cause I'm usually out mowing myself and crash when I get home but this dry hot weather has all my yards going dormant until it rains again. Did you switch to Gravely completely or just the one mower and you moved to Hot Springs since I last heard ? Awesome. I always go eat BBQ in Hot Springs when I go to Lake Ouachita , but it's been awhile. Keep on showing those " Do Right Boys " what real work looks like ! LOL !
Totally understand. I don’t watch much content on CZcams either. It’s hard to find the time. I did switch to Gravely. They liked what Blake and I were doing and how we were going out and helping others. They wanted to stand behind us and partner with us. So they are providing equipment for us to use. I didn’t move to Hot Spring but I am there so much it feels like I am part of that city.
