We've got another gameplay video for you today, this time Here to Slay! Have you played this awesome game before? What do you think of it? Let us know!
This game is very fun with with 4-6 players, by having more players you eliminate the possibility of one player just steam roling early game
Yeah that's the case with a lot of games. The higher the player count, the higher the possibility it is that one player just takes over the game. Additionally, the longer the game goes...in some cases very longer lol
Yeah, that's why the thief isn'th allowed in 2 player games
Even with 4 you can steamroll if you can get radiant horn up and nobody manages to deal with it. Modifiers are broken lol
I absolutely love this game. In my experience 3-4 players is the sweet spot.
2 players results in people just going for the monster win which ends the game super quickly. 5 players or more makes the game go on suuuper long because of all of the modifiers and challenges.
We recentlt started changing the win condition to 5 monsters slain or full party when playing head to head. Full party seemed way harder than just slaying 3 monsters. We felt 5 monsters or fill party made for more modifiers and counters to be played. Your playthrough deff made me believe our change helps the game go a little longer and not be so one sided. Althought you were only playing two players where we usually have 4, increasing to 5 monsters for two player deff helps the game.
Yeah sounds like that would be a great house rule to implement!
I just played “Here to Slay” for the first time today, luckily it was with 6 people, it took OVER TWO HOURS(The two hours include: reading the rules/learning to play, set up, playing, and checking the rules occasionally), but it was really fun nonetheless.
As a board/card game collector and enthusiasts I approve of this game.
This video was also great, I like how the game was explained and loved how the gameplay was presented.
The monster requirement does apply to party leaders. Party leaders cannot be used for the “any hero” requirement but if it asks for a fighter and your party leader is a fighter it fulfills the requirement.
wrong lmao
Your just yapping bro. The hero leaders does not count on anything, except when you gathered all hero requirements to win.
No. Your party leader counts towards the "full party" win condition, but not for the requirements to attack a monster
You are right. Don’t listen to these ppl. They can’t read 😂
@@natel1878 Oh snap, he IS RIGHT! Totally right, I've got the rules right in front of me;
Under "The Monsters" section, the third paragraph says that your Party Leader does not count for the "(H)" symbols because it isn't a Hero card. But in the very next paragraph, it clearly states that the Wizard symbol denotes that "either a Hero card or the Wizard Party Leader card" will fulfill the requirement.
Sorry!
wow this game is so interesting thank you so much for enlightening me hope u guys play more of this gg guys what a good play
This looks fun. I love that Bad Axe Guy. Destroying heroes like nothing.
Here to s͟l͟a͟y͟💅💅
Yaaaas 💅💅
You go girl💅
@5:33 Not correct. Mentioned twice in the rules: Some Monster cards require you to have a Hero or Party Leader card of a certain class in your Party in order to ATTACK them. AND, If a Party requirement to ATTACK a Monster card is , you must have a Wizard in your Party (either a Hero card or the Wizard Party Leader card) in addition to a Hero card of any class. We read this as a Party leader does not qualify as "any Hero", but if the Party Leader class is listed on the Monster card, it counts as one of the requirements.
The modifier is op, makes every roll successfull 😂
Love the game’s aesthetic, had to get it for myself! Thank goodness for your video, the rules can be confusing 😅
Glad we could help!
I just got this game and I love it. Quick question though when you were explaining the rules for attack my understanding is if the monster has a "H" and a "symbol" the party leader can be used to meet the requirement to be part of the attack. Only if there are "H" "H" then the party leader can not be part of the attack. This is my understanding from the Monster attack section in the rule book.
Yes, this is correct. I believe I was wrong with my initial explanation. The Party Leaders can be used as the "class specific" requirement to fight a monster, but cannot be utilized as a Hero (or the "H" symbol). Apologies!
@@hobbiesnhappiness no worries. Love your channel. Any eta on gargoyles gameplay 😜
At some point in the future 😅...lol appreciate the love!
I had this same question as well! Thank you for clarifying!
Great vid had a blast watching it. 1V1 was so quick. Looks like you all have sleeved you cards for play, are you all using 63 x 88mm card sleeves? Or are they the more common 63.5 X 88mm ? I was looking to sleeve my game but the recommended 63 X 88mm cost a bit more than the 63.5 X 88mm. Do the ones you all use shuffle ok during play? Any way keep up the good work.
What did you decide on bro? Thinking of doing the same
can i play a hero and use it effect then use it again in the same turn?
These kind of games are fun. I wish that I had somone to play them with. I dont say it to get sympahy just saying =) I hope you guys have fun with it.
Hope you're able to find someone! I believe there is a Discord for the game you could check out and potentially play over webcam maybe? Regardless, we have a lot of fun with this game!
I got this game over Winter holiday 🙂
can i use fighter challenge card if i dont have fighter hero card in party , but i have fighter party leader card in party ?
Hey guys, love the video and the gameplay , was wondering what recording device was used to record these videos ? :)
Appreciate it Lorenzo! You can check out a kit that I put together that has a bunch of links to a lot of the gear we use for recording, streaming and podcasting! You can find it here: bit.ly/3KL3DoI
You dont get to use the heros affect immediately. You still have to use an action point for it.
Nope, it says in the rulebook you can use the ability immediately when you play it.
11:23 Are you sure you don't have to add that modifier before you roll the dice? If it's not an acid that you throw on the monsters but a potion that you drink to get a buff that would make more sense, don't you think 🤔?
I can understand the argument for that, however according to the rules, they state you may play modifiers after players have rolled the dice.
What are the sleeve sizes for boss/hero cards and regular cards?
I believe the standard size card sleeves are 63x88 mm. Not sure as to what the dimensions would be for the boss and hero cards.
I just recently got this game and I love it! Quick question - what is the max amount of cards to have in hand? For example - Unstable Unicorns starts with 5 cards but you can have a max of 7. With Here to Slay, we start with 5 and keep 5 the max?
It is a lot of fun! I don't believe there is a hand size limit! I'm fairly certain no hand size limit is mentioned in the rulebook, and I don't believe I've ever played a game where we limited players to a set hand size limit!
@@hobbiesnhappiness Thanks! I couldn’t find it in the rule book either. Thanks for the help!
I just got the game, I love it! I went to the official site and the latest update Q&A says 7 cards max and discard at the end of your turn. ALSO: a fun add my 8 year old came up with for modifiers. Play ONLY ONE after a roll or play before a roll and be able to play as many as you want.
@@_jessbess I had to dig on their website, but there is a hand limit of 7.
@@posterboi87 nice homebrew rule! Going to keep that in mind
Cheated at 7:33 🤣
Anyway, nice video and pretty helpful.
Who cheated where? Just re-watched that portion and am not seeing anywhere that happened?
@@hobbiesnhappiness He probably meant 8:40. With Beary Wise, both of you needed to discard a card but only one of you did.
I take it back. Each other player doesn't include yourself I guess.
@@saviokarimaruthumkal3314 EACH OTHER player. Not yourself. Of course.
hi hobbies + happiness!
Im wondering what if we deck out, does the game stop right there or keep playing without draw anycard from the deck. please give advise
If the main deck runs out, you just shuffle the discard pile and that becomes the new draw deck.
@@hobbiesnhappiness many thanks
good game
i guess they should have used that 'challenge' card somewhere.
You can challenge the modifier cards, idk if the other dude knew that
No you can’t lol
Is there any way to play online?
Do you have any card game recommendations that are similar to this game?
czcams.com/video/u9zcVeuRxo0/video.html
Also Dungeon Mayhem is a good one as well.
@Gundam Build Metaverse I mean it's not designed to do that, but there's nothing stopping you from playing 2 handed solo. You would essentially be controlling 2 players.
Wait, the leader dont count if you wana attack a monster?
They do but not for the "any hero" requirement . Because that specifically says "hero" party leader is not considered a hero
At the start they played it wrong
is there a max hand limit size in here to slay?
Nope!
@@hobbiesnhappiness yes there is hand limit is 7. Anything over at the end of the turn must be discarded
@@HNICB1GM1K3 Negative. Nowhere in the rules does it state there is a hand limit.
Uno dos tres
every one needs to buy the game or what
Only 1 box of the game is needed!
Either the guy that lost doesn't know how to play, or this was staged to not last long.
I can assure you this was not staged. Dan (the winner) got insanely lucky with the cards he drew into, and Jim (the loser) got very unlucky. This was definitely the quickest game of Here to Slay I have ever played. As it appears you know, they tend to take a bit longer.
@@hobbiesnhappiness I believe you, you should do another gameplay video. Great video tho.
Appreciate that! Yeah we may do another video for this game. It is a lot of fun!
@@hobbiesnhappiness can't you challenge a player from attacking a monster?
@@johnrickguades3417 I do not believe you can
