How To Make Bone Broth | Super Delicious! is a great educational video that shows you my bone broth recipe which is a really tasty homemade bone broth.
Homemade bone broth is a really simple to make and very inexpensive. Bone broth has so many healing benefits and an important nutrient profile that is incredible when it comes to musculoskeletal and gut health.
This bone broth recipe can be made very easily in a short period of time. My wife and I like to make a big pot at the beginning of the week and have it available to drink daily. We typically will drink it in the morning on a fasted stomach.
If you ever wondered how to make bone broth for fasting, it is literally the same way you make it for any other purpose. You can take this broth and make chicken soup, beef stew and so make other incredible soups.
Bone broth fast benefits include supporting healthy skin, joints, muscles, bones, and body. The bone broth is loaded with glucosamine, amino acids, glycosaminoglycans, hyaluronic acid, amino acids, minerals and collagen.

Probably the best superfood ever. I do OMAD breakfast, then bone broth around lunch and again at dinner time. I weight train and the protein and fatty acids are critical for muscle retention, especially doing OMAD. This is how humans are designed to eat and is a lifestyle, not a fad or diet. Down 70 pounds, 230 to 160 and no medications at 53 years of age.

Thank you for the recipe. FYI, the way I’ve been making it: First boil the bones for 5 minutes to get out all the dirt; then roast them with the vegetables as you have done; thirdly add the apple cider vinegar to the bones and cover with water to cook, but do not add the vegetables and seasonings until the last 8 hours of cooking the broth. This is supposed to insure more flavor into the broth.

The benefits are amazing and quiet for me because I'm not a sick person, but I do notice my skin improved over four months and the lines between my eyes are gone. I hope everybody else is having a healthy successful experience

I saw a drastic change in myself.. I was way slimmer, my gut was feeling good, my bowels were a lot better, my mood was way better... got better as I went on with it.. Angel H. When I started out.. I was spending about 20 bucks a week on groceries, and I love food.. so I took note of all the groceries any every store so I could plan ahead and eat well. So,I looked for a cooked rotisserie chicken on sale(5.00) , dozen eggs(2.00), bag of popcorn kernels1.50, box of noodles(2.50), bread(2.00), peanut butter(2.00) , and a jar of marinara sauce(3.50).. plus tax comes out around 20. Now, I peeled off all the meat from the chicken until it was well cleaned and then put carcass into crockpot with water filled up all the way and let it simmer on low for 24 hours..put it in refrigerator until all the fat hardened at the top, I then skimmed it and put the fat into a separate container in which I was going to use as oil for the popcorn kernels and drained broth into another container and stuck into refrigerator. Back to the chicken meat.. pulled apart half the meat and store in container, used the other half for the spaghetti and stored spaghetti after cooking to pick on throughout the week, snacked on popcorn, make peanut butter toast and eggs for breakfast, picked on the pulled chicken throughout the week, and had 2 cups of bone broth every day..one in morning and one at night. And you can use bread with the spaghetti..and noticed a big difference in how I felt after consuming the broth for a week . I then got a better job and was spending 50 a week on groceries.. so for a few weeks I was buying a ton of unhealthy food like.. pizza, cheesecake, cookies, more pizza.. but continued with broth and noticed I was starting to lose a little weight and slimming despite all the bad stuff I was eating. So really.. as long as you make an effort to consuming bone broth at least twice a day for at few weeks and only drink water.. you can eat whatever and start feeling better. And after you see yourself start slimming, it really makes you want to start eating a lot of good food so you can really start to see the pounds fly off

I made this bone broth following this recipe and it came out darker than in the video. It’s now sitting in a glass jar in the fridge, and i’m highly contemplating throwing it out. I ate a few of the carrots and celery that cooked with the bones, I didn’t see the harm in it, they looked and tasted like beef stew, and while I didn’t gag or feel nauseous afterwards, when I think of having to drink that dark gelatin substance, it just sends chills down my spine. You guys make it sound so delicious and nutritious, I’m just not sold on it. I don’t know if it’s just my body rejecting it, but I don’t get this feeling ever after eating veggies or fruit, ever.

    • @danbev8542
      @danbev8542 Před rokem

I don’t see a problem with tap water - unless you live in Flint, Michigan! I live in an agricultural area (at chemicals spread on the soil) & have a well, so I use a Burkey water filter. If you live in an urban area with water treatment, your water should be fine. Buying water in plastic containers causes huge environmental problems. We have huge warehouses filled with unusable plastic - much of it is degrading into the ocean and our land, contaminating our food and water.

When I'm making bone broth, I prefer to throw in fresh greens of: parsley, rosemary, maybe sage, bay leaf (though usually dried), and basil. Sometimes use leeks instead of onions. Adding lemon juice as well as the apple cider vinegar. For salt I use large granule sea salts.
Sometimes to thicken the broth, if I want to make a really rich soup, I'll throw in a couple packets of Gulash powder.

Roasting the bone is a very important step to give it a great flavor.
I've experimented both (raw cooking and roasted cooking) and the roasted the best.
My suggestion is to have boiling water ready to pour on the bone and veges when you put them in the pot, rather than pouring cold water on something that was already in the process of cooking and transformation. Boiling water just continues the process.

I just completed my first batch which turned out great!
My beef broth consisted primarily of ox tail, knuckles, and shin bones. I roasted prior to putting them in the crock. I added cilantro, parsley, carrot, onion, and garlic. (Sea salt & pepper corn, too.) Oh, and vinegar with the mother.... I cooked for just over 24 hrs. I had a bowl with added cilantro, chopped onion, and lime, and oh my, was it GOOD! Thanks for your vids and info.....

    Dr. Z,
I cannot remember who I heard this from, but I have been advised not to add salt until I prepare the finished bone broth for recipes. It has something to do with negatively impacting the thick formation of collagen evident in chilled broth.

this may work for health, but traditionaly one uses 5 lb of bone to yield one qt. finished broth. a little oil helps the ingredients brown and the salt stick and don't forget to deglaze the roasting pan

I add turmeric, black pepper and sometimes sliced of lemon. If you get alot of fat and you dont like the taste, blots it in a blender or ninja type thing and it will taste much better.

Thank you for the recipe, it looks amazing! I have candida and would like to know if I can make and eat this on candida cleanse?

Wow, thank you for the quick response! Been on keto for a couple of weeks, so the transition to the candida diet will be easier for me. It'll be the keto-candida diet!

Dr Nick... so you can drink bone broth during intermittent fasting whilst on keto? As some sites say it contains calories.

Have you tried pressure canning the bone broth after placing it in the mason jars instead of freezing it? Would there be a negative effect on the nutrients in the bone broth?

I love Bone Broth! I drink it and make chicken vegetable soup.
What do you suggest to help with fiber in diet? Especially when I have diverticulitis.
