How To Make Bone Broth | Super Delicious! is a great educational video that shows you my bone broth recipe which is a really tasty homemade bone broth.
Homemade bone broth is a really simple to make and very inexpensive. Bone broth has so many healing benefits and an important nutrient profile that is incredible when it comes to musculoskeletal and gut health.
This bone broth recipe can be made very easily in a short period of time. My wife and I like to make a big pot at the beginning of the week and have it available to drink daily. We typically will drink it in the morning on a fasted stomach.
If you ever wondered how to make bone broth for fasting, it is literally the same way you make it for any other purpose. You can take this broth and make chicken soup, beef stew and so make other incredible soups.
Bone broth fast benefits include supporting healthy skin, joints, muscles, bones, and body. The bone broth is loaded with glucosamine, amino acids, glycosaminoglycans, hyaluronic acid, amino acids, minerals and collagen.

I wanna hear from you!
Dr. Nick Zyrowski
Probably the best superfood ever. I do OMAD breakfast, then bone broth around lunch and again at dinner time. I weight train and the protein and fatty acids are critical for muscle retention, especially doing OMAD. This is how humans are designed to eat and is a lifestyle, not a fad or diet. Down 70 pounds, 230 to 160 and no medications at 53 years of age.
I’m going to try this thank you. I’ve been doing the 18 hour fast because one meal a day was hard and just started drinking the bone broth but I will take your device no try it maybe it helps me stay in the omad.
Please can you tell me what is omad breakfast?
How do you preserve bone broth?
And do u also take some multivitamin? Plz tell me
I'm just 28 but due to early c section pregnancies i loose weight so i got sooo much saggy skin. And my belly is like a ballon whether I'm very skinny or fatty. If i loose weight i look like a complete skeleton with all skin out place. Please tell me what to do..?
Awesome!
I've been making this recipe for a couple of weeks now and I LOVE IT! SO DELICIOUS! my whole family loves it.... I've had some skin rash on my neck for years and it is completely gone now, swear.... thank you so so so much!
When she said, “a couple bay leaves”, I thought she said, “a cup of Bailey’s” and I was questioning what kind of recipe this is.
You know you have drinking problem, when....lol
Hilarious.
That's the Irish version of the recipe.
Thank you for the recipe. FYI, the way I’ve been making it: First boil the bones for 5 minutes to get out all the dirt; then roast them with the vegetables as you have done; thirdly add the apple cider vinegar to the bones and cover with water to cook, but do not add the vegetables and seasonings until the last 8 hours of cooking the broth. This is supposed to insure more flavor into the broth.
I've heard several top athletes mention this elixir when asked by news correspondents what keeps them i such good physical shape, but it seems that bone broth has a super healing effect on the entire body. I clicked on the link to this video for the recipe. Dr. Nick, you're the BEST! So glad I found your channel while doodling on CZcams.
Good
I know how to make bone broth...I am Slovenian we eat it every Sunday lunch and I mean the whole country lol...I stayed for the wife...that is one beautiful woman you got there mister and she makes bone broth. Two thumbs up lol
As a child we consumed a lot of this bone broth with vegetables, and now to continue this makes my body celebrate, I’m sure.
Great video, thank you. My crock pot is going right now, just re watched this vid to get refreshed. Also Dr. I have the microwave mounted as you do and I unplugged it when I learned the EMF field cover the entire kitchen when not in use. It is my breadbox now.
I made beef bone broth & when I heated some up for dinner I sauteed vegetables I had & added them. Delicious!
Love your sweet family and love how you help people like me who are doing alternative health :) Thank you and your family!
Thank you so much for sharing ❤️
I’m going to definitely make this 👏🏽
Awesome, thank you so much. I think I’ll do a chicken one as I love chicken soup and would be happy to have that in my fasting time 👍😃
This is excellent comfort food. I use it to make my ramen with all of my other ingredients. I also put a lot of tarragon in the Crock-Pot forl flavor. The benefits are amazing and quiet for me because I'm not a sick person, but I do notice my skin improved over four months and the lines between my eyes are gone. I hope everybody else is having a healthy successful experience
Finally!! Clear, precise, simple!
Thank you! Great video! 💗
I love adding fresh thyme to it.
Amazing plan, this will make fasting less brutal.
Thank you for sharing. Very helpful!!
I’ve never seen the ingredients baked first, thanks for a great idea!
Me neither. And there's nothing like the flavor of roasted veggies.
ok,,, i will try it.
thanks for your information !
You guys are so super sweet and respectful of each other I ove it I’m prescribing to you channel thanks for sharing great video
Thanks for a great recipe,! You guys are adorable!
Thank you for this information. Great video.
Great clip Nick, congrats on your wife's input here :)
May I suggest adding a few words on the benefits of adding ACV, onion, carrot and celery to the broth? I think I'll increase the overall perception of the recipe. Just a thought, as I'm already accustomed to your detailing explanation of all the ingredients you use and why you use them on your videos.
Also, may I add, inspiring your wife to create her own channel on this line of healthy, homemade stuff? I think people would love that. simple, pleasant and healthy.
I’m excited to try this!
Great vid!! Going to make a big batch next weekend!
Thank you for a great recipe! I've been wanting to make bone broth for a while but never knew how. When you say you can drink during IF does that mean it does not break a fast?
Great recipe! Thank you for sharing!
This stuff really works.. I don’t understand how it’s so amazing.. but I used to be really fat.. and tried this stuff out.. first week I was pooping a lot, but felt really good the next week.. first month.. I saw a drastic change in myself.. I was way slimmer, my gut was feeling good, my bowels were a lot better, my mood was way better... got better as I went on with it.. I started walking and doing small workouts like push ups, pull up bar, and squats.. this bone broth is crazy
Trevor Buckner was bone broth all you ate? Could you explain a bit?
Ile Ana T Chicken, vegetables, spaghetti squash for pasta, turkey meatballs, halo ice cream is really what helped.. I had green tea powder , chia seeds , smoothies , sweet potatoes/baked French fries, cauliflower breadsticks/pizza
Sounds yummy! Good on you for your success
Trevor Buckner I am considered morbid obesity and I would love to know more about what you did, how and if possible the $.. I know it shouldn't matter to mist when it comes to your health however I am on a very limited fixed income that I am just getting by. Thank you for any info you can provide.
*GOD Bless you*💯
Angel H. When I started out.. I was spending about 20 bucks a week on groceries, and I love food.. so I took note of all the groceries any every store so I could plan ahead and eat well. So,I looked for a cooked rotisserie chicken on sale(5.00) , dozen eggs(2.00), bag of popcorn kernels1.50, box of noodles(2.50), bread(2.00), peanut butter(2.00) , and a jar of marinara sauce(3.50).. plus tax comes out around 20. Now, I peeled off all the meat from the chicken until it was well cleaned and then put carcass into crockpot with water filled up all the way and let it simmer on low for 24 hours..put it in refrigerator until all the fat hardened at the top, I then skimmed it and put the fat into a separate container in which I was going to use as oil for the popcorn kernels and drained broth into another container and stuck into refrigerator. Back to the chicken meat.. pulled apart half the meat and store in container, used the other half for the spaghetti and stored spaghetti after cooking to pick on throughout the week, snacked on popcorn, make peanut butter toast and eggs for breakfast, picked on the pulled chicken throughout the week, and had 2 cups of bone broth every day..one in morning and one at night. And you can use bread with the spaghetti..and noticed a big difference in how I felt after consuming the broth for a week . I then got a better job and was spending 50 a week on groceries.. so for a few weeks I was buying a ton of unhealthy food like.. pizza, cheesecake, cookies, more pizza.. but continued with broth and noticed I was starting to lose a little weight and slimming despite all the bad stuff I was eating. So really.. as long as you make an effort to consuming bone broth at least twice a day for at few weeks and only drink water.. you can eat whatever and start feeling better. And after you see yourself start slimming, it really makes you want to start eating a lot of good food so you can really start to see the pounds fly off
Silly me I can't remember why but I was always told not to salt your bone broth until it's finished so that's what I do. Great video thx!!
Thank you!
only now realizing that he is sitting.
Same! 😂
😂😂😂
Me too
Hahaaa
@@dr.nickzyrowski Hi!
Do you know what to give children to make them grow taller ?
Thanks for the video! I add star anise and daikon in addition to the above :)
I made this bone broth following this recipe and it came out darker than in the video. It’s now sitting in a glass jar in the fridge, and i’m highly contemplating throwing it out. I ate a few of the carrots and celery that cooked with the bones, I didn’t see the harm in it, they looked and tasted like beef stew, and while I didn’t gag or feel nauseous afterwards, when I think of having to drink that dark gelatin substance, it just sends chills down my spine. You guys make it sound so delicious and nutritious, I’m just not sold on it. I don’t know if it’s just my body rejecting it, but I don’t get this feeling ever after eating veggies or fruit, ever.
Thanks for another awesome video!
Finally I found this recipe well one that I really like! Thank you Dr.Nick and beautiful and smart wife! I never knew you have to roast the bones or add vinegar and I used to use tap water 😯 but now I know better! THANKS 🙏🏻
I don’t see a problem with tap water - unless you live in Flint, Michigan! I live in an agricultural area (at chemicals spread on the soil) & have a well, so I use a Burkey water filter. If you live in an urban area with water treatment, your water should be fine. Buying water in plastic containers causes huge environmental problems. We have huge warehouses filled with unusable plastic - much of it is degrading into the ocean and our land, contaminating our food and water.
You are awesome thank you Dr
Thank you doctor
Thanks for this video
You guys are so matching! God bless!
Thank u. Awesome
I am so glad I found you!
Thanks for your video. I make my bone broth with turmeric, salt, garlic, 3 large onions and celery. The taste is nice. Next time, I will add a bit Apple cider vinegar like you advised. X 🙏🏻♥️👍
I use everything you use + a nice little plug of ginger.
Perhaps use a bit of pepper to activate the tumeric.
Thank you. Suggestion for use during fasting..excellent
I use it as a base for adding vegetables...ext5as or left overs. This is so tasty and helpful for me on a keto friendly .
meal.
thanks dr
This was really helpful, thanks! Do you have an opinion on slow cooker versus pressure cooker in terms of making bone broth? I’d like to go the pressure cooker route but am concerned the very high temperatures might damage nutrients. Do you think the bone broth is like to be lower nutritional value?
Followed directions to the letter! Taste's like dishwater lol Will tweak spices for next time! Thank you for the info on the many benefits of bone broth!
Some great tips I didn’t know about...baking first wow great idea!!!!!
+Dr. Nick Zyrowski I heard somewhere baking bones make them carcinogen. Is that true? I guess no but I would like to ask.
Thanks a lot doctor .. you lucky ..you have a such wonderful wife .thank you both .. have a great life ..👍👍👍
What 117 people didnt like this? I think they described everything fully and was very friendly too.
Could be they didn't tell us how long to roast at 425.
Probably vegans lol.
Probably because she doesn't have the married ring. 🙃
some people are just asshats
Or it is because bone broth puts you out of your fasted state and he's telling BS. It's great to break a fast though.
Hi Dr Z. I love this recipe. I think roasting makes a big difference. One question: should we let the broth cool and strain the fat off? Or is there good stuff in the fat? Thank you
Thanks for this video. Great information.
Thanks doctor for the great recipe.
I enjoy your channel.
Please, keep up the great job.
Hugs.
Thanks Dr. Nick for this video. I’m going to try it. I see people thanking Dr. Nick for his replies to their questions but I can’t see his replies. Are they private? What am I missing here?
I like to add ginger .Its very easy and light feels on stomach with more benefits.Thank you.
Good video... I use bone broth based veggie soups in my fasting refeeds.
Thanks a lot doc& your elegant wife- could you please make a video about “making of kefir”?
Thank you
Hi Dr. Z, how much bone broth should I drive during the three day bone broth fast?
I will toss in parsnips, a run through the herb cabinet greens. Green peppers and a very small hot pepper for a.bit of kick. I drain off most of the fat though I lose flavor and some benefit all the grease upsets my gut. Love that bone marrow which I usually eat before tossing the bones into the pot. Very nice. Best
Both of you are looking so beautiful and decent. Stay blessed and make more such type of videos for us. Plz share some keto recipies.
You both have great skin. Can I use bone broth to reduce my cellulite?
Nice video! Bone broth really helped when my niece sprained her ankle.
Wow soon I will cook bone broth. I like it.
Thank you.
I send my thanks to your wife for the bone broth recipe
DR NICK.....YOU LOOKED TOO SERIOUS !!!!!
OMG !!!! RELAX....MAN..!!!!!!
YOU MAKE US FEEL NERVOUS BY YOUR SERIOUS VIBE .....CHILL !!!! MAN
Hello! Thank you for your informational video! Does pressure canning bone broth kill its nutrients?
Thank you!
Wow. i am Moroccan lady. And in morocco we make a delicious soup with celery 'persyl, tomato, lentil and beef bones .
nana tata@ Hi! how do you make it. please give ingredients and the process in brief.
Hi , i live in Danmark and we Can not get bones like you Can, so i use chicken . It taste very nice but now I blend all the veg like a soup , bone broth soup , love it 100/procent good Ness
Thanks sir.
Thank u !❤
Hello Dr. Nick, Thank you for bringing up such amazing video. In your other video I wrote my story about How I cured gap in my hip bone by just consuming bone broth. I am still consuming it on daily basis. I am 45 and drink 600 ML soup everyday. Could you please tell me if that is correct quantity for an adult like me ? I am not fasting, I drink it after my daily food.
How long do you let the bone bake inthe oven?
When I'm making bone broth, I prefer to throw in fresh greens of: parsley, rosemary, maybe sage, bay leaf (though usually dried), and basil. Sometimes use leeks instead of onions. Adding lemon juice as well as the apple cider vinegar. For salt I use large granule sea salts.
Sometimes to thicken the broth, if I want to make a really rich soup, I'll throw in a couple packets of Gulash powder.
I was taught to let the ACV sit at least 1 hour before heating the bone broth mixture, or actually have the ACV sit in the water + bones for min. an hour before adding and heating. What is your take on that?
Thanks ❤️👍
Roasting the bone is a very important step to give it a great flavor.
I've experimented both (raw cooking and roasted cooking) and the roasted the best.
My suggestion is to have boiling water ready to pour on the bone and veges when you put them in the pot, rather than pouring cold water on something that was already in the process of cooking and transformation. Boiling water just continues the process.
How much does 4 bones as seen in the recipe weigh?
Don't add hot water. Bringing cold water up to temp helps extract more nutrients.
It is the opposite-you want better broth, you put it in cold water. If you are cooking meat in water, then you put it in boiling water to lock up the flavors.
@@svetamcdowell thank you Sveta
Great idea about both roasting and the boiling water!will do
What is the best use of the fat that settles on top after cooling? I skimmed, stored, and froze the fat for other use(s).
I just completed my first batch which turned out great!
My beef broth consisted primarily of ox tail, knuckles, and shin bones. I roasted prior to putting them in the crock. I added cilantro, parsley, carrot, onion, and garlic. (Sea salt & pepper corn, too.) Oh, and vinegar with the mother.... I cooked for just over 24 hrs. I had a bowl with added cilantro, chopped onion, and lime, and oh my, was it GOOD! Thanks for your vids and info.....
You also caught my attention when you mentioned skin health...I have recently developed an "itch" and rash area just above my ankle on my left leg.....could I expect improvement from this?
Nice video, thank you...
Dr Z is a blessed man to have such an impressive wife.
Dr. Z,
I cannot remember who I heard this from, but I have been advised not to add salt until I prepare the finished bone broth for recipes. It has something to do with negatively impacting the thick formation of collagen evident in chilled broth.
Thanks
this may work for health, but traditionaly one uses 5 lb of bone to yield one qt. finished broth. a little oil helps the ingredients brown and the salt stick and don't forget to deglaze the roasting pan
I thought the same thing I would had used a lot more bone and only garlic and onion so maybe salary but I have veggie thing was in need it I need it more bones
Thank you for sharing. I'm a new subscriber.
If using instapot, how long do you pressure cook it for?
I'm about to give this a try! Wish me luck guys :D
How long did you roast?
I add turmeric, black pepper and sometimes sliced of lemon. If you get alot of fat and you dont like the taste, blots it in a blender or ninja type thing and it will taste much better.
Thank you for the recipe, it looks amazing! I have candida and would like to know if I can make and eat this on candida cleanse?
Wow, thank you for the quick response! Been on keto for a couple of weeks, so the transition to the candida diet will be easier for me. It'll be the keto-candida diet!
Dr Nick... so you can drink bone broth during intermittent fasting whilst on keto? As some sites say it contains calories.
Have you tried pressure canning the bone broth after placing it in the mason jars instead of freezing it? Would there be a negative effect on the nutrients in the bone broth?
Thanks
Nice to meet your beautiful wife too.
Keep well and happy
Great video
hey 🤙 ur video,
how long canyou keep it in the fridge, can my son have it he is 7 ... tyy
Good day doc. How much do you have to drink and how often for gastritis?
I love Bone Broth! I drink it and make chicken vegetable soup.
What do you suggest to help with fiber in diet? Especially when I have diverticulitis.
Greetings...thanks for the above video, if I may...heads up - Distilled Water is best 24/7, cooking or not. Cheers.
I do the same except that I add ginger and turmeric to give more flavour
