Info from the DREAM TEAM : RUN: this MV is part of the BU. Make sure to watch it until the end, please. The main message of the song is that itâs natural for people to make mistakes or fail but it remains a sensitive topic for society as a whole. BTS wanted to comfort themselves and others by saying that one mistake or failure is not the end of the world. RM said in a press conference: âWe didnât want to just blankly say âcheer upâ or âbe strong.â We really wanted to comfort people our way, by producing the music and writing the lyrics ourselves. We poured our heart and soul into this amazing song.â

To give some context on the truck scene where theyâre vandalizing peopleâs cars, I donât know if you noticed but Jin is the one thatâs in the driver seat and he is blocking traffic so everyone is honking at him and even though in the scene you supposedly see the BTS members running around and vandalizing cars, you donât actually see anyone get out of their car to try to stop them or yell at them for it, which if you think about it realistically would be very unusual like if you saw someone vandalizing your car youâd get out and stop them no? So one of the theories that I have and that Iâve seen people talk about is that the members werenât actually there, it was just Jin either hallucinating that he was with them or he was actually with them in a different timeline so he came back here and was trying to reminisce it so he is just sitting there by himself in his truck blocking traffic and thatâs why everyone is just honking at him to moveâŠKind of goes back to the scene at the end of the prologue where earlier in prologue Jin had taken the Polaroid photo with two of the members but at the end of prologue when heâs looking back at the Polaroid heâs by himself in the photo and there is no members in it with him because he wasnât actually with them when he took it, he was once again either hallucinating it or it happened in a different timeline. hope this helps!!

@@JimGames another thing that supports this theory is during that scene, you can barely hear someone yell "Move your car!" in Korean, which would be a weird thing to say; if all the other, more serious vandalizing was actually happening you'd think they'd be yelling about that instead. So this further implies that Jin was there by himself and the other members weren't actually there.

Also, it's a bit difficult for us to gove "theories" without spoiling because most of us already know the hidden meanings hehe. The best we can do is steer you into the right direction in terms of the flow or the details to take note of.
The fact that he mentioned time travel in this video suggests to me that someone has already spoiled something...

idk if you noticed it, but in the end scene (when jimin was burning their photo), before that happen, it showed the members standing on jin's truck looking at the sea, then it transitioned to the picture. one member is actually missing in that picture before jimin started to burn the photo.

5:42 the song in the background of this part is butterfly which was also at the end of the prologue and you will hear when you listen to HYYH pt2, Iâm pretty sure the part that is in this is Jimin singing and itâs V in the actual video falling backwards. Their MVs have behind the scenes and they actual show V filming this part by falling into a water tank :)

The members even pointed out how they can tell as well based on his mouth shape. Hobi is an INFJ like me and I too am terrible at hiding my emotions. It makes us very genuine, open and expressive people, but also bad at hiding tough feelings and terrible liars.

Yes, those sunglasses are the ones that Cobain wore. There are a lot of references to Nirvana in mvs we haven't gotten to yet. I'm not sure that there's a deep connection other than trying to show them as rebellious teenagers. I have also heard the art director for Bighit is a big Nirvana fan so maybe that's his influence too.
Dude, donât worry about figuring it all out, just enjoy the video and music, at least during your first listen.! Iâve always found with reactors that itâs much more enjoyable to just watch and experience it without the âanalysis of the BUâ thinking caps on. I am absolutely fascinated watching you explore the BU. Iâm new Army but Iâve explored more but I learn more each deep reaction I see. I love your enthusiasm. They love to challenge fans. The whole concept of itâs ok to fail really hits me. I work in Silicon Valley and help mentor startups. Failure is a privilege to me some groups are rewarded for it (see the startup world we way too often reward huge failures) others are never given the same opportunities. This song and their ideas are so important for teens and young adults to hear. Musically itâs just so good.

I've been a BTS fan for a few years now but given my schedule, I can't put energy into digging into every detail and clue for the BU. Thankfully, ARMY continually puts out content summarizing and explaining niche details of the story of BU, long before the official novel and webtoons came out. You won't get lost as long as ARMY is out there

Run and Butterfly (the song playing during the credits) are two of my most favorite BTS songs, it's worth listening to them again outside of the MVs, which are amazing and distracting hehe.

You're getting parts of it (but there is still SO many more details hidden in the videos) - honestly, I think the BU is so well made it could be it's own course at uni breaking down everything. When I discovered BTS in 2015 (hhyh pt 2 era) I kept getting confused between the mvs of 'I NEED U' and 'RUN' without really realizing there was an actual continuating story until WINGS Era!

I feel you, that was my feeling when I became a fan in 2015. I would watch a video at least 8 to 9 times to see what each member was doing and the Easter eggs in them. By the time I am done i would almost be able to sing the entire song. Then I will be scouting the comments and community to discuss with army because you can't keep it to yourself you need to get your head around it. Then you get into the lyrics and emotion and before you know it you are emotionally attached to BTS like no other artist or group. Even seeing them hurt in fantasy made you sad. Lol.
Genius. And Big Hit & Co. Really delivered on the Quality. I don't know, but selfishly I hope we get one more era of albums so I can feel like this once more đđ. BTS made me smarter and sharpened my brain.
In I need U jimin was trying to drown himself on the tub and in run when wanted to go back to the tub the members where with him and he wasn't alone. Also the members are paired (I believe) which you will see a lot, that's why jimin was with jhope when he woke up. And suga and Jungkook where having a fight and RM and V where drawing with graffiti in the streets.
Edit: at the end of RUN (not the whole video just where the song ends) Jungkook is showed looking back with all the members walking toward, now if you remember, in I need U there was a scene where he was ganna get hit by a car. Now we always see Jin being the one driving the so call truck they always use. And if you see the members behind Jungkook on that scene, is only 5. So one members is missing...any ideas?
Last edit: Note that Jin is always the one with the Camara and the one taking pictures or seeing pictures and stuff like that. And so what some people believe is that when the flame is shown like being taken by a Camara, is Jin taking that because he wanted to save those memories/moments (for some reason, maybe he knows something or new something).

The song in the beginning and again at the end, is Butterfly from The Most Beautiful Moment in Life part 2. The card they pull out of the feathers is also a butterfly đŠ or Nabi in Korean. I see that you have discovered the power of dark J-hope. The J-Hope of Jamais Vu and Outro:Tear. I saw a tough guy heavy metal fan react to a live version of Outro: Tear the other day, and he started crying during J-hopeâs part. He was shocked and embarrassed that he would cry, but he said that there was just something about the devastation on J-hopeâs face. And itâs true that J-hope always performs that song with so much grief. Something to look forward to.

While I've seen this video a few times, I never paid attention to the Nirvana T-shirt. Once you brought it to my attention, it made me think of Nirvana's "Nevermind" album cover with the baby underwater. I do know BTS also has a song called "Nevermind", so I wonder if it's connected. I, too, am baby Army interested in diving into the BU, but I don't know if I'm ready. I feel like I need some kind of prerequisite course or something first, lol.

If you really want the full fan experience, you should read the Notes that came with each of the album drops. =) Once the BU started, one of the fun things about purchasing the physical album was that it would come with a set of Notes (sometimes different notes per version of the album) that was like an ongoing fictional diary from each of the members providing more information about what was happening in the storyline. The Notes and the Save Me webtoon are the only reason people actually know what is happening in this storyline, lol. The music videos by themselves don't provide enough context to really unravel it.

I just watched you video and there are so many things I want to say but I don't have enough time to type it all. The BU storyline is amazing, and I don't know who the creative genius is behind it all but I love them.
BigHit is supposedly in the works to do a whole drama series based on the storyline, sans BTS members, but I'm highly anticipating getting to experience it all over again.

Just fyi, the BU is not told in any sort of traditional way, it's not linear, you'll always have more questions than answers and there is no defined conclusion as yet... basically, it's frustratingly entertaining in the same way LOST was in it's prime. đđđ

I know this was months ago but while watching it, I see a lot of confusion happens because you couldnât tell one member from another. I hope youâd come back to these videos once more now that you know them (Iâve seen some of your latest vids) and see that itâs not so hard to understand whatâs going on. BTS has referenced Nirvana many times throughout the years, from members wearing Nirvana tshirts in their off time as well as in photo shoots or music videos, to Nirvana song titles showing up in random places in some of the HYYH era music videos. Jimin has a tattoo of the word Nevermind across his chest. He first had it done as a temporary tattoo for an award show performance in 2014, long before BTS's song Nevermind was released, so it's possible it is a reference to the Nirvana album and not to a BTS song. He got the permanent tattoo in the fall of 2018, around the time of the "Korean Independence t-shirt incident" for which he got so much crap. Jungkook also has the phrase "I'd rather be dead than cool" tattooed on his right arm, very possibly a reference to the lyrics in the Nirvana song Stay Away.

the suga/jk scene I initially read as suga having a moment. he's angry at something. he's letting it out. JK see's he is hurting and tries to comfort him and Suga pushes him away. And I feel like its not the first time, with JK's reaction to that. He gets mad that Suga won't let him in to help him.
I have been enjoying watching through your BTS journey and I just want to say I appreciate the open mind and depth of understanding you have given this journey.
I just recently had an exchange with another reactor who is positive BTS is overhyped and that their hardships have been exaggerated by fans. He was trying to tell me what the actual net worth of Big Hit was at the time they signed BTS and that they had âother groupsâ at the company, because he âdid his homework.â

They were, in fact mortgaged to their eyeballs, and had some partial contracts with a couple already established fairly minor groups previously. Saying they were worth X Amount is really misleading mansplaining, and he was sure he knew more than I did, or had discovered some fan falsehood, despite being brand new to BTS.

I consumed so much of their content in the last year, they have so much of it, that I did put off the BU, but bc their webtoon Chakho came out today, I decided to also read the Save Me webtoon for the BU đ don't know how I'll read the notes though đ€

BTS songs are not easy to understand as a single song, and they tell the story throughout the album, and go beyond. It also encompasses the entire album released. Finally, we listened the I need U, Run, Now it's time to listen to Butterfly. It's better to experience it in this order. and then, Save me, I'm fine, Young Forever. Thank you.
Got to love the butterfly effect. My theory is when the mirror breaks its just a memory from one of the members mind I won't say who though. đ

If you want to go in-order you cannot skip the BU, truthfully I have gone through all their videos and even back in "No More Dream" I see BU things (it could be stretching but I like to add it) and the "I DONT KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS!" is the feeling you will have until you reach some of the newer stuff (and truthfully sometimes I still get it)
I'm kind-of upset that someone put time travel into your head, at this point I was thinking more along the lines that all the boys were actually different sides or personalities of one person, it wasn't until eight-ish more videos that I was starting to think more time-travel, than I went back and saw some things that pointed at time travel BUT I now think there is something even more (I do not know what that is, except the feeling that there is ... more)
BTS music has a lot of deeper meaning..even if you don't know about BU..you can still enjoy and relate to lyrics and music.. the upper layer is ofcourse good music lyrics & fascinating MVs, choroes and as you go deep down music has psychological meanings. For new ARMYs I think its important to enjoy music first..Butterfly is my all time fav song, please listen to itđ..

I only have one suggestion for you, if you want to enter BU. Pay attention to every detail, graffiti on the wall, every scene, shadow in the mirror, writing or drawing wherever it is. notice their writing on their shirts. because every scene they do is really extraordinary. For example, if you notice when Suga throws a chair into the glass, there is a shadow of a blue flower, and that flower will appear 2 years later in the Love Yourself album.

Y'all done made him obsessed with it like us đđ lol a lot of this is basicaly before I need u, even though this came out later, the timeline is all over the place. Jim, this story is still going on till this day, don't feel pressured to understand or make sense of everything right now, because even us, that have a lot more information than you, don't know everything yet (there's a drama coming out about it).
I feel like people sometimes explain this a little strangely. We DO know what happens in the story, there is actually VERY little we do not know, if any. It has been explain in length in the books, I think a lot of ARMY just haven't read them.

@@marirezende8478 there really isnât anything we donât know though. The story had a conclusion, who a loose ending of what happens next with Jungkook.
Spoiler: Jin found the map of the soul, told the boys about everything he went through, stopped the accident on September 30th, and finally stopped time traveling. The only thing that ended without a conclusion was of Jungkook not believing him and wanting to âhurt the guys for lying to himâ.

I know you are here for the music, but since you are checking the BU, "on stage prologue" comes before "Run"... the harmonies at the start are the song Butterfly which's in the prologue along with why V falling into the water while all is black at the start..
