Same problem as Woodley but didn’t adapt. Being explosive uses a lot oxygen and Mcgregor puts the pedal to the floor in the opening rounds. Woodley is a counter fighter in the opening rounds then in the later rounds switch to offense.
The majority of your slow twitch muscle fibers are used for posture and are in your back, butt, and legs. You do have them everywhere in your body, thats they have the highest concentration in the areas listed (also your tongue, face). If he is gassing out that quickly it would be more due to insufficient glycogen reserves in his muscles (due to pushing to hard in the beginning) and inadequate transportation of oxygen to his muscles. The lack of oxygen transport to his muscles would most likely be due to poor lung conditioning, shitty arteries, or something involving his heart (which i seriously doubt). It is most likely due to poor lung conditioning if that is the reason. The human body also has the ability to convert muscles fibers as well. We see this in athletes that switch sports, like an enduramce runner starting powerlifting or viceversa. So to me (not knowing a lot about McGregor's training) I would have to suspect its insifficient bust exercise training for the creatinine PC and glycogen energy systems as well the oxidative system used for enduramce training. The Diaz brothers have slow-twitch muscle fibers, meaning they have great cardio but not much KO power. Almost all their KO's come from smothering their opponents with a barrage of punches over several rounds until they break, unlike McGregor who is known for KO'ing his opponents with only a few shots. Muscle fiber type is not related to muscle mass either; extremely muscular fighters like Aljo can have very little KO power.

It's not more of conditioning but pacing. He goes full early rounds not leaving anything for the late rounds. And also probably because he has little carbohydrates in his diet. The guy who explained it, was partially correct. Conor developed his muscles for fast movements but not for endurance (See endurance runners muscles vs Sprint runners). Same thing.
Conor doesn't focus on stamina conditioning. He focuses on power. It's very apparent when you see Nate Diaz who runs ALOT with cardio conditioning and it's very thin as a result.
Fast twitch muscle tends to be larger guys designed for strength. Slow twitch guys tend to be built lanky designed for endurance. Based on Conners build type, he would likely be a slow twitch guy. His "touch of death" is from technique and precision. I'm going with a lack of conditioning compared to the other slow twitch fighters. Partying also is a factor!
i agree with this theory i think its the nerv system, adrenaline and the energy thats needed to produce the energy being used when the nerv system relays the more intense frequency when it tells your body to move at those higher speeds. i have this same issue, i can snap a jawbreaker at blinking speed and have high reflex/response time but i gas quickly. i have to carefully manage my pace, i think it does also have a lot to do with how you throw your punches though too and what you weigh and how you move.
Nate Diaz is a prime example of slow twitch too out her swinging Stockton slaps for 25 mins like them blow up things flailing outside of car dealerships
In all sports there's gonna be people who's fast twitched and slow twitched the people who are the most explosive are fast twitched and the people who last the longest are slow twitched youre born either way and can't change it
It comes from his training sessions... not pushing past his limits... if I train 3 minute rounds of sparring sessions my body will adapt and allow me to go for that but if the fight is 5 minute rounds I'm gonna gas out .. ya body can adapt to just about anything with training...
Absolutely. This is the first time I have heard it as being genetic. I was always into competitive sports growing up. Almost zero body fat and very powerful. However, whatever sport I played, whether that be football, rugby, athletics, or combat sport. No matter how much I trained, I would have a very small window of being able to use 100 per cent of my ability, and then I would drop off a cliff. I always remember my friend who smoked like a train and he could run forever. I could never get my head around his cardio and mine. Fascinating 👌
The thing with fast and slow twitch is it's kinda a contradiction in itself because one can have a hybrid of the two. And slow twitch fibers can be compensated for to be as effective as fast twitch and vice versa.

Yeah I agree with that that dude in the red and white said 100% I’m slow compared to many people, but I’ll last longer
Literally learned this in high school health. Dude’s spitting common knowledge like a guru…MMAGURU
And then all the know it alls in the comments saying he's wrong or just making up opinions and calling it fact because they "feel" right. The arrogance of people these days is appalling.
"Anyways...it has nothing to do with his lifestyle choices 🤷🥴"
Basically a smart way of saying Connor doesn’t do enough cardio 😂
I love how he explained that 🤘 difference between sprinters and long distance runners
Almost a Jimmy the Greek moment
This dude talking out of his ass
Really dude????? Really
you have no idea what you’re talking about, he’s one of the greatest mma trainers ever bozo
@@ericmusgrove958bro he’s 💯 talking out his ass 😂
@ericmusgrove958 Just because you want to worship somebody doesn't mean they're right
@@ericmusgrove958 dude you got army soldiers with all different types of body types or even MMA fighters not Just ufc that make his statements false just by looking at how they fight body type and stamina..
No, it’s the “I’m worth 9 figures now”
Mentality
lmao this guy's detailed explanation. Like my dude. It's the narcotics.
The way he broke it down was nice
Everyone is different, hence why I am perfect.
*Drummers have entered the chat.*
Cardio is mental. He gives up on him self when he doesnt get the finish quickly
Baby D all confident now with dem knockers
It's not more of conditioning but pacing. He goes full early rounds not leaving anything for the late rounds. And also probably because he has little carbohydrates in his diet. The guy who explained it, was partially correct. Conor developed his muscles for fast movements but not for endurance (See endurance runners muscles vs Sprint runners). Same thing.
It makes sense, there's trade offs for every advantage/disadvantage
I think it’s just that Nate can take a insane beating and still fight
Conor doesn't focus on stamina conditioning. He focuses on power.
It's very apparent when you see Nate Diaz who runs ALOT with cardio conditioning and it's very thin as a result.
Hence why Nate can go for days
The explosive Connor was dangerous
Fast twitch muscle tends to be larger guys designed for strength. Slow twitch guys tend to be built lanky designed for endurance. Based on Conners build type, he would likely be a slow twitch guy. His "touch of death" is from technique and precision. I'm going with a lack of conditioning compared to the other slow twitch fighters. Partying also is a factor!
This explanation was tough
i agree with this theory i think its the nerv system, adrenaline and the energy thats needed to produce the energy being used when the nerv system relays the more intense frequency when it tells your body to move at those higher speeds. i have this same issue, i can snap a jawbreaker at blinking speed and have high reflex/response time but i gas quickly. i have to carefully manage my pace, i think it does also have a lot to do with how you throw your punches though too and what you weigh and how you move.
Marciano NEVER got tired...EVER
Firas Zahabi is a greaaaaaaaaaat coach
Nate Diaz is a prime example of slow twitch too out her swinging Stockton slaps for 25 mins like them blow up things flailing outside of car dealerships
Great explanation
In all sports there's gonna be people who's fast twitched and slow twitched the people who are the most explosive are fast twitched and the people who last the longest are slow twitched youre born either way and can't change it
There's a middle type too and that's a deadly combo. 😮
Complexity looks cool
Nate has infinity stamina that's why he can't get tired easily
He broke it down to a science !
I’m so glad someone addresses his cardio
Nate was tired too.
The cosmos will always find balance
Too much science. The short answer is Conor has a glass jaw. 💯
I'm so fast twitched, I can get to the kitchen really fast but get gassed out by the time I get back to my room 😂
It’s like long distance runners vs sprinters
It comes from his training sessions... not pushing past his limits... if I train 3 minute rounds of sparring sessions my body will adapt and allow me to go for that but if the fight is 5 minute rounds I'm gonna gas out
.. ya body can adapt to just about anything with training...
Only been a problem when he moved up to MW and got beefy. At FW and LW he was fine.
I am a lefty as well and I can confirm I got that deadly potential but I gas out fast af when I exert that much.
Outclassed. That's what I'd call it 😆
Bro doesnt focus on cardio enough , period
Fascinating 👌
the diaz boys for the most part... had been the mountain upon which all swords break, aint no steam rolling them 2.
The Irish are natural sprinters. Very dangerous over short distances.
Connor be twitching 😂
That's why Vo2Max and hypoxy training is crucial to implement around conditioning sessions
Its just that he reach his peek of stamina!
The thing with fast and slow twitch is it's kinda a contradiction in itself because one can have a hybrid of the two. And slow twitch fibers can be compensated for to be as effective as fast twitch and vice versa.
Connor has predominantly fast twitch
