Taiyang= Best Dad
Qrow= Best Uncle
Qrow is also the sexiest uncle in Anime that I've come across
I love this Arc because it shows that even the brightest of people can grow dim, yet still bounce back.

My favorite part of this arc is when port and oobleck came over and had a good laugh
Taiyang is best dad, he's always there for his girls. I also noticed he (and Qrow) have different ways of approaching the girls. Both Tai and Qrow are more sensitive and gentle with Ruby I suppose. Whereas with Yang they're more blunt and to the point and very open. But you can tell they still care and only want the best for them. Yang really isn't someone to be coddled but she is supported. I'm proud how far Yang has come, she's not fully healed but she's getting there.

Ker Dunne Burnie was an amazing choice for Tai. He is and plays an ultimate dad. Plus his does such a great job acting with Barb
What about Blake’s dad? They both have great dads who loves their daughters
8:20 One moment i spesifically return to is this moment Yang talks about the loss of her arm, seeing Taiyang reaction to her made me realize something, espacially in "it's never coming back" for him it's more like "she", Taiyang had to grow his daughters alone without Summer Rose, living with the fact that... she's not coming back
@@SpectreCiNW at least not as the Summer they knew. Volume 8 raised a few theories on how she might be "alive". I know they confirmed her death near the start of the series but they also did the same with Penny after volume 3 and they changed that later on
I don't understand how people think Tai is a bad dad. He is there for his girls and loves them unconditionally and he knows when to give them space. Sure, he's made mistakes in the past, but no one is perfect
It probably wasn't easy raising two girls mostly on his own while battling his own issues like depression from losing their moms. But he tries and the girls clearly love him so he's done right by them.

@@jassiiij I mean the dog didn't seen visibly harmed by it or in distress, so it doesn't seem to be much of an issue in the first place.
my girlfriend points out Tai has both bad pull out game and or moved on too quickly from his first wife. But that doesn't make him a bad dad, in fact he is the most consistant parent to Ruby and Yang, he is still there for them as a father should. So yeah he might have moved on too fast from Raven to Summer but considering the circumstances its not hard to believe that he gravitated towards Summer considering the grief he must have experienced when the woman he loved left him and his newborn daughter behind.

I love this arc because we got to see Tai a lot more. And in seeing his interactions with Yang, we see that while she got many traits from her mom, you can see Tai in her personality. Not just the fun side, but the stubborn side as well.

Y'know, I was saying to a friend of mine that Vol. 4 would be better suited if each character had their own episode. You did a really good job with these super-cuts.
On a side note, I liked Yang's character before, she seemed like the girl I'd like to hang out with being fun and cheery, but mature and worldly-wise. Seeing this arc made me fall in love with her. They didn't just have her put the robotic arm on as soon as she got it, she took her time and then had to train again to get used to it. Still the bad-ass, let's hope she finds her sister and answers she's looking for from here.
P.S. Bernie is brilliant as her father. A big old teddy bear.Just like Qrow, blunt and doesn't sugarcoat but does it in a way that helps the girl with pep talk and fatherly advice. Love it.

I'm sad the bad guys have more time than one of the members of team RWBY
To be fair, the villains consisted of a large handful of characters (several of which were totally new) all going different ways and doing different things. While Yang's story involved pretty much just her and Tai at home, not really doing a whole lot.
That being said, I too wish Yang got a bit more screen time this volume.

It's interesting how Yang is combination of Tai and Raven. Tai(Light blond hair,blue eyes) 4+Raven(dark hair,red eyes) = Yang(dark blond hair, Purple eyes). But Ruby is just copypasted Summer.
Not really. She's got Tai's boundless courage and optimism. Summer seemed more quiet, but brave.

at the end yang goes towards mistrial instead of where "bandits" are we know in vol 5 she goes to raven who we then learn is the leader of bandits (if it was mentioned before I don't remember) so in this she goes one way but in vol 5 she goes the other interesting

This shows he really had Love for Raven, he acknowledges her flaws and her strengths and accepted both
I feel like Yangs first haircut went interestingly. She saw that first strand hit the floor no sooner after that the hairstylist flew right threw the door.
I'm suspecting that when Taiyang says that Raven "did a number on our family" he was mostly referring to Yang and Qrow

I wish Tai had that whole "don't rely on your semblance" chat with Wies. I hate her last fight against vernal. She just tries to use that summoning thing over and over and fails massively. Really made her look lame....
Tomieus I loved all that stuff she did with her glyphs whenever she was in a fight even if she lost but when she tried to use her Summoning it just made me laugh

Rhaegos the Lightning I hope that we get an episode showing the adventures of team STRQ in which we see tai and summer in action and find out what their semblances and weapons were/are.

My theory is that his semblance is Geokinesis in other words earth bending. I think it would fit his combat style and personality well.

Ik this is off topic but has anyone else noticed that zwei is the only pet in the series? Everything else is Grimm, birds -grimm, bears and wolves -grimm. so is zwei part Grimm whats the story there?
Pyrrha herself mentioned there are animals in the series. Let's not forget about the fish and the turkey that were eaten as food.

And he insults her semblance. You know, the LITERAL MANIFESTATION OF HER SOUL.
And wtf should she not use her semblance? It gives her an advantage.
Also "that strenght is all that matters in a fight"? She is easily one of the most skilled fighters. Rewatch the yellow trailer(and even the Yang short). It's not the character's fault that Miles&Kerry dumbed her down so much in later seasons(just like they did with Weiss in her fight vs Vernal I might add).
it is a serious issue with their writing. They try to make certain characters look strong, by making the established characters look worse.
