So ... is anyone else thinking this might lead to a 1984 proton pack release ? ... I hope so, I don't think they could go wrong if they did and fans would love it. I have the Afterlife pack and wand and just picked up the 1984 wand just in case they do release a 1984 proton pack !!

I am not a modder by any means. I was planning on purchasing another Afterlife wand to attempt to change it over to an 84. Luckily they announced the 84 wand and I had to get it to make life easier. So I have the Afterlife pack & wand and now I am going to get a full size spirit pack to attach the 84 wand to.

@@NerdAffiliated yes🙌🏻 well I’m very much hoping so 🤞🏻 it makes sense, especially with the interest from this wand, I think they’ve sold a lot, it makes sense to do so, I’m holding out anyway, and if they don’t I’m going to build one, just finished modding my afterlife pack recently after working on it since it was released😊
My Afterlife Wand is the first gen, So I definitely need a replacement Afterlife, and the new 84

Yes the afterlife handle if you look around ppl have made things to customize the wand. And files to 3d print or buy from others things to make it more accurate. Or to change things up. 😁👍 there is a huge gb community. All you have to do it look. Love your review tho. Great job.
The community is what got me addicted to modding and cosplay. Hahaha. It’s DOA for me if Hasbro does make a 84 pack.

it is basically the afterlife wand with new grips and a new paint job. if they had modified the proton stream sound to reflect more how it sounded in afterlife, I would have bought it.
I don’t hate this. I wish it had something more unique to it, but still happy with it.

Next year I need to pick up a full size Spirit pack for sure! I don’t do the whole HasLab thing. I have the smaller scale spirit pack I’ve upgraded so don’t want to part with it.
I don’t know for $150 it’s tempting to pick up another wand. Even just to hang into. Who honestly knows the next time We’ll get another one.
The Mattel one is proves these will be very sought after in the future once they go out of production.
I was in the same boat! I grabbed my Full Size when they did their clearance sale on the first. But even at full price, it’s a great deal.
Yea I started with the 80% scale spirit pack the bought the life size spirit pack and two weeks later bought the Haslab pack on eBay best $1000 I ever spent and the most expensive thing I ever bought so happy with it had the wand for a year before but I just purchased the 84 wand and am so excited 😆

Mine just got delivered. I got it to mod so I didnt mess up my Haslab packs wand. I am gonna do the vent mod, an AUX mod so a cable runs doen the handle into the split loom to the pack and plugs into an external speaker (did for my pack too 10X louder), then I am gonna do the frutto tech bar graph. If all works out Ill do the same to my first wand and have an 84 wand to build a third pack with. Likely a pack like the video game.
Holy cow!! Can you document that, and share with us?! I messed up the 2nd one I bought, trying to mod, and I’m scared to do it again. I especially want to see your vent upgrade!
@@NerdAffiliated Ill try, I have some parts needing to com in before I open her up. I did just remove the tip, cut off the orange piece and color the rest back silver.
The rest will have to wait a week or two. I also just got the cancelled Hasbro RTV ghost trap to mod and make more realistic.

Does it seem like the brown weathering on the grips could be removed via rubbing alcohol?

So glad I passed on this. I modded my Spengler wand to 89 GB and I think it turned out much nicer than what Hasbro did. I’m not mad that they did this but I felt what they did was just lazy

It really was a cash grab, they used the same moulds from the Spengler wand so all the built in weathering from that along the edges etc are on it. Why exactly? This is meant to be when the wands were new, it shouldn't have all that paint peel
ust bubbling sort of damage around the edges. They coloured it black but its still very obviously there.
They changed the hat light on top of the main gun to a black colour instead of orange, again why? What 1984 wand has a black hat light? Only the mattywand had one which again made zero sense as they had access to the screen used props and still managed to get that wrong. Not to mention the mattywand was quite inaccurate as it was anyway.
And lastly the wooden grip weathering...just wow. Could they have done this in a way that looked any less realistic? I doubt it. Literally an angled line at the end of each grip with the most fake looking wood effect ever. Could they have not done just a couple of small dabs and left it mostly black? Or just have not bothered with weathering on the wand at all? Afterall it is meant to be new at this point. The actual grips on the wands in the movies were a brown\orange resin painted black, so a wooden effect coming through really doesn't make much sense anyway.
It's disappointing overall, had it been a new mould with no "baked in" damage that was present on the Spengler wand then it would have been a better product, leave the grips black, and the hat light orange. But they went the cheap and nasty route.
