I love how fast this tutorial is. People don't seem to realize that we can pause and rewatch what we need to, especially with tutorials people rewatch them a lot. so I love how much ground you manage to cover in 20 minutes.
If you think Juri is underused, then I'm happy. I just got this game yesterday and I liked Juri's style so she will be my first character that I master. I'm already pulling off probably 90% of everything you've showed. Thanks for the vid.

A Tip for the Future: Jumping MP will be your go to Air-to-Air due to it's hitbox. Also after a jumping MP, you can use a standing HP, then use EX Pinwheel Kick for more damage. This is still an awesome guide that did improve my Juri game alot.
So how do you actually DO the moves and combos??

Don't think anyone mentioned this, but her EX Pinwheel is projectile invincible.
Well I'm obviously kinda late to pick up SF, but here I am and so far I really enjoy this game.
Since choosing Juri as my character, this tut really helped understand that char and expand my game, especially the use of ultra1..

Thanks for the guide! I picked up Juri a few days ago and will probably main her because I love messing with opponents with her fireballs. I just didn't know how to properly use her light pinwheel and Ultra 1 so thanks for that! You also introduced some extra pokes I hadn't tried using yet. Just one thing though: Sakura isn't the only one with a hard jump in to anti-air. A properly spaced jump in fierce from Claw is painful if you try to punch it. :(

Remember kids: When anyone says "don't use this move", use it, and find a use for it.
As in all competitive games, unconventional and surprising methods will beat any meta hands down.

***** that strategy is good for one off opponents that aren't expecting it. But after the first time you use it, they'll know its coming, and if the move is known for being underwhelming or not efficient, they'll know how to punish it.
It's generally not wise to develop an entire strategy around making use of "bad moves" just for the element of surprise.
+Kanakotka Don't be daft almost every character has a selection of attacks that are straight-up worthless or beaten out by other more effective ones. Don't play Juri but as a Cammy player I can think of several of her moves that have no practical use and in the case of her close roundhouse actually hazardous due to it being actually negative on hit.
Gimmicks only work on the inexperienced, any seasoned player with a proper understanding of the game will see the holes and punish accordingly.
+pat leaf white it's wishful thinking - a lot of people think the game, being designed by professionals, should have a use for every move in the game, but in reality a lot of stuff they put in the game seems like it should work in theory but inevitably just doesn't pan out
a lot of ideas go into games, it's inevitable that some of them just aren't going to work
Really nice guide, I'm improving quite a bit. There's only 1 thing that I can't solve... I don't understand why most of the time I do click the right buttons but the move won't release, It happens quite often

Just a few things to add:
-cr.MK also makes you hard to hit (your hitbox is gettin weird :D)
-her command overhead can link into LK on counterhit
-you can dash unter high fireballs even without U1
Dude thanks man. For the uhh low Heavy punch into heavy pinwheel punish tip! I just got this game and i like her. I been wathcing tournys and i see ppl only using her fire balls and never her rush down or combos!

So, we have a local tournament for SFVI in my area coming this weekend, so I thought I might join and review some tricks, and then I came across this video. I actually clicked on this guide ages ago when I first got the game and I remember not understanding shit (like what "mid-screen" is, poking, etc.)
I guess I just want to comment that this actually IS a beginner's guide.. but it's a guide for Juri herself and not for people who are new to 2D fighting games in general.
I just thought I should comment this because I've meant to do so back in 2013 and forgot about it. It's nice to have some closure.
Depends on the pad, old 360 pads don't even bother the d-pad is too mushy to be precise, the stick is good but it can be tricky to be accurate again with it due to it being so soft and having no solid corners, although this can be an advantage to some.
If your going for a pad i'd suggest going for a fightpad, it can be easier to use.
Also you won't be at a disadvantage, it's personal preference really. A lot of tops in the FGC use pads.
I always wanted Sako to pick up Juri. I think he'd make her look crazy good.
Another great way to stop someone advancing is high heavy kick to low sweep.
I started street fighter yesterday, and after trying all the characters, i chose Juri. I love her so much, she's so fast

VTEC422 i really like them but they are hard to learn for a beginner. Btw after talking with good sf players, i changed my mind and now i train Oni, i like his gameplay so much
An grod Lol Juri and Ibuki aren't beginner-friendly either, they're actually rather work-intensive (or at least Ibuki is). As a fellow beginner, I initially thought the same a while back and looking for a secondary/sidekick and looked at both characters. But an Ibuki main him/herself warned that she is a very difficult character to use and takes awhile to get used to, and most people would dedicate a lot of time learning her as their main character, and since I already have a main I probably wouldn't have all the time necessary to practice her. After looking at a few guides for her, Juri doesn't look so easy herself, since you really gotta learn to properly store fireball charges to build up a lotta damage and she has a tough time dealing with defensive charge characters like Honda, Guile, and others; not to mention her wakeup is terrible and she can't really do much on it besides EX Pinwheel and Counter.

This isn't really useful as a beginner's guide. You're talking way too fast, and it seems like you're assuming people know what you're talking about when you're throwing around the game lingo. New players aren't going to be able to keep up, especially since there aren't any annotations, or command diagram.
Well, I started 2D fighting games this week with SSFIVAE, and I understood perttty much everything here.
Of course, I gathered information about fighting games when I dedcided to start playing seriously, but that's what every player should do, or they're not even trying to master the game itself.
man. you read my mind... i was able to do one or two useful things... but that combos.. no way
Linking combos in general, I'm a cammy player and I seem to drop her combos link after her dive kick. Also able change directions to FADC to cr HP then falling sky grab I keep missing at time. Done sure if its my input or timing

loved all your work you did on SFxTK and i know your do the same here. A few characters, i wouldnt mine seeing is fei long and able. also still finding it a bit difficult to link combos. any tips?

its a beginner guide to a specific character which means ppl watching this are assumed to have never played this char, not the game
if you are new to the game, you should be looking up a beginner video for the game, not this character

I keep holding the MP-Button until pinwheel has already started. Or you press the button fast enough to have released the button early enough. That's your two best options as far as I know.

My Celeron brain can’t understand this moves, I will try easy games with two buttons like ghost and goblins.

you can do crouching lp, standing lk, standing mp, kh pinwheel does 10 more damage than this dudes bread and butter. hits crouching people and is easier link.
