45699 Galatea roars up Filton Abbey Wood with the Bath and Gloucester Steam Express- 4/2/23

- The Bath and Gloucester Steam Express from London Paddington to Gloucester.
LMS jubilee 45699 Galatea (running as long lost class mate 45627 Sierra Leone/ 45562 Alberta) would make a surprise return from overhaul so it was a must to go out and see it.
The first shot was coming off Oxford Road Junction and through Reading West.
The second shot was at Filton Abbey Wood where the Jubilee could be heard digging in to the climb making an impressive sound and sight.
The third shot was passing a busy Yate station. Was a close call here with a class 60 approaching from the other direction.
After a couple hours break in yate i made my way to a foot crossing at Cam and Dursley before heading to the final shot at Filton Abbey Wood.

Any minute now and we should hopefully that Galatea will be back to normal identity again luke because everyone is getting desperate for the engine to return to normality
Who knows what identity it will have next. As long as it’s in steam that’s all that matters.
