    I have already pre ordered 2 fat All Axel front and back. Building a new 3 motor AWD bike with Bbshd.3 batteries 72v, 3 Phaserunners, CA3, RST Renegade forks and 100mm rims with 4.8 Maxxis tires. I have a one wheeled fat tire trailer I installed a Shengyi SX2 motor to make this the ultimate catapiller for climbing mountains with heavy loads . With 2 motors with variable Regen I won't have to use brakes coming down the mountains.

      @@kimhyunwoo8983 Both hubs work for top speed and the Mid drive allows for the use of all your gears in your cassette, throw a 60 tooth ring up front, ya can tow a mac truck or race up any mountain, using pedal power and motors... is an overkill unless your an adrenalin junkie then I'd call this build, brilliant!

    • @rufusirvin5279
      @rufusirvin5279 Před 3 měsíci

      @@kimhyunwoo8983 The point is this is not a road bike. This bike might see some gravel road but primarily climbing mountains in Yukon Canada. Following old cat and trapper trails and driving down snowmobile trails. The Bbshd is being used for really low end torque as I am going to run a 32t front chainring and a 46t single cassette gear. I used Grin's Bbshd conversion wiring to Phaserunner that can push 55 amp continuously at 72v, giving me about 4000w. The new Grin All Axel fat bike direct drive motors originally designed as boat motor could replace a 12 HP diesel engine pushing a 32 foot sailboat, giving you an idea of the power of one of those motors . Since direct drives are known for their lack of power off the start I am choosing the All Axel 8t slow windings for more torque and the Bbshd as the low end torque. With the trailer hauling about 200 pounds up and down steep areas where you would have a hard time walking up you do not want to get stuck half way up a climb with all that weight. 3 powered wheels on the ground and overkill power and traction is what is required.

    I enjoy Grin stuff and Justin is an absolute genius. I'm not sure if I would call this the best hub motor without knowing the specifications, such as torque or nominal/peak wattage. A modified Bafang G062 peaking at 3,200 watts with a Phaserunner and dual Tesla batteries is my current favorite combo. I'm usually the "rescue" vehicle that tows other bikes home when they break down or run out of juice on group rides, and pulling a quarter ton up a hill at 20mph will be a hard act to follow! I'm open minded though, and being able to use Statoraid will be a big benefit.

    Agreed! I also do not work for Grin Technologies but think highly enough of this motor that I'm using their rear All-Axle motor with built-in torque sensing on my first ever e-bike build project. I had purchased their great Cycle Satiator battery charger and knew that Grin Technologies was on the cutting edge of modern motor technology on e-bikes.
    With the latest All-Axle options including built-in torque sensing option (rear All-Axle) and the fat bike hub option I just don't know of any motor manufacturers that has this many options available for their motors.

    Ya I was thinking of getting grin motor and stuff, but I instead went with a 5k watt kit as im a bit strapped on funds at the moment and need the torque. I don't need speed I don't like going over 35mph. I just need it to tow my trailer and all the weight I have in it. Which is around 600-800 pounds. Already have the bew motor installed, but i need to go back in the settings as when I was in it I lowered everything as to not blow up a 48v stock battery that came with the bike its 60ah. Only thing i can't get working is the torque sensor as I had to use the stock bikes sensor. The one that came with the kit wont work on this bike its designed differently. I hoping its just a disabled setting as the sensor as a light and shuws green dnd even tried moving wires around still nothing. Will go into the controller settings tomorrow and see if I can't get it to work.

    • @GrinTechnologies
      @GrinTechnologies Před 3 měsíci +3

      This is entirely true. There are various paths being explored but sadly nothing very clean that can be done in the near term timeframe.
      As a result we'll initially be releasing the fatbike just in a fairly slow 7.5 rpm/V winding so that it still can deliver a good torque at the 90A peak / 50A continuous phase amps of the phaserunners. For a faster ~10 rpm/V option though, we really need both a higher phase current controller and a higher current connector than the L1019 plug. More than about 55-60A continuous will start to melt those nice connectors too, but there isn't an combined phase+hall motor plug standard on the market for higher amps. .
