  • Kendall Jenner has had…. well, a bit of a rough week after the GIANT failed Pepsi Ad controversy. But if there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that this model’s family will stop at nothing to support her. Guys, we’ve said this before and we’ll say it again - The Kardashians put family first always.
    And this week was no different. For a refresher, Kendall Jenner was center of a highly publicized, and criticized ad with Pepsi. The commercial depicted the model seemingly ending protest with a can of soda and many thought the ad was offensive for depicting American protests as fun, light hearted and glamorous - especially the black lives matter movement. After first defending their commercial, Pepsi finally pulled the ad from the airways, and Kendall pretty much disappeared off the face of the planet.
    Now, The 21 year old model has not publicly responded to the controversy, although she DID delete all mention of Pepsi from her social media pages. She was also spotted at an airport in Paris, hiding her face from the cameras. But Kendall and her family are focused on just one thing - getting through the storm
    A source close to the Kardashian family said this to people magazine: “Kendall is still abroad working. She has been in constant communication with her mom and sisters. Everyone is being very supportive and ready to give advice. Kendall is young and certainly not used to being involved in such controversy.”
    And apparently, the backlash has taken a toll on the model.
    “Kendall has been very upset,” the source continued. “She feels terrible. She loves being a model. to get a Pepsi gig was a big deal, she never expected it to receive such backlash. She hopes people understand that she wasn’t involved in the creative process. Though she wasn’t involved, Kendall’s initial remarks about the commercial showed excitement for the idea.”
    She was after all the first model to appear in a Pepsi ad since Cindy Crawford’s iconic role back in 1992. It’s an honor to be following up some of the icons and amazing, cool people that have done this before me, she told e news. She added the role was a dream come true. Well, more like a nightmare now. But hey, Kendall will survive this, don’t you think? Or do you think her career as a model will never be the same? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section down below.

    • @June-rb1nx
      @June-rb1nx Před 6 lety +3

      Sorry....I don't agree with your logic that she was just doing her job. She is an ADULT 21 yrs old, and if she can't decide for herself that something is wrong, then she doesn't deserve to be in the public eye and famous. She knew that this ad would garner a lot of attention, wanted OR unwanted.
      No, I think that Kendall absolutely was aware of what this ad might do...and for all intent and purposes she and her idiot mom hoped it would take her over the top as a famous model....Too bad it back-fired.....but maybe it's a good thing, you never know. It's just the beginning I believe of the downward slide of the Kardashian /Jenner fame that within another year or so is going to be gone.....
      BTW...if you are in a check-out line in any store that has magazines, the fact is that this family isn't being plastered all over the covers of said magazines right now. I think due to Kanye's break down, Kim still sobbing over her Paris robbery, Kylie's high-priced make-up issues, and now Kim jumps on the band-wagon with a make-up kit that's sub-standard to say the least that this family is on it's way out as far as being FAMOUS.....no one really and truly wants to be a Kardashian any more....I mean would you ? This family is nuts.....and you all fell for it, day after day. Seems if you had any brains you would idolize someone else.

And how is this any different from unknown hippies putting daisies in an officers gun barrels. I watched it and felt happy inside. Its people of all colors smiling at most points. They've come together at least for a moment. That's the first step and then you begin discussing the issues at hand in a diplomatic format to come to some kind of resolve.

    pepsi is more to blame than Kendall. she was just the model. of course, she could have realized it was a stupid concept but she' way too privileged to realize something like that. still, pepsi is the one who should be feeling the backlash.

    Commercial is just a commercial they're not making fun of anyone who protests especially this commercial has nothing to do with the blm movement. It's just a commercial Pepsi is known for dancing and shit in their commercials. They're light hearted and they didn't mean anything by it.

    can we think for a second that its not all kendall fault (im not a fan tho. i just heard the news), people are angry because of the way this commercial delivered its message. did kendall direct this? idk if she did. but besides that, there are other people that worked for this commercial and started the idea. perhaps talking to the director will help. let him/her/them explain/apologize themselves. dont just complain, think of a solution and do it. for the people who are offended of this commercial, im not saying your over dramatic, because of course we have different backgrounds and i probably dont know you. so i respect your opinion. for the people who arent affected, be a calm and rational. if you want to express yourself, do it in a nice way without attacking anyone. lets just be nice to each other :)

  • @abigguitar
    @abigguitar Před 7 lety

    Part of the reason the ad was so controversial was due to Kendall Jenner's involvement in it. If it had been a model who was not part of the Kardashian family, the ad might not have received quite as bad press as it has. When you cast a Kardashian family member, you also cast the baggage that goes along with that family. Word to casting directors, choose less controversial models for your ad campaigns.

    I don't understand why people criticized this commercial I mean just someone so malicious will find something bad on this commercial, of course thaht a pepsi won't change someones mind or will stop a war but the meaning behind the commercial was innocent. Why can't people just watch it with innocent? The people in this world is already divide why divide more? Create love and peace. Not all the people get the attention that a famous one have and they that do have that power of communicate something important and be heard, Why criticized them? I really don't understand.
