Originally the show as cropped to 4:3, cause TV's were like that back then. So, there's a lot of shit on the sides that you notice nowadays. Like stand-ins for the actors, camera crew, etc. Including the kid

From the look on his face when Joey asked what the difference was between the line he was supposed to say and the one he said, I knew the kid was going to make the perfect duo for this scene.
I like how they're punishing the kid just cause Joey can't say "Mmm. Noodle soup."

@@IslanderloverBKK Wow, really... that kind of puts it into perspective in a weird way. Like it's so easy to assume it's the writers, but if Matt wanted to be written as "the idiot" then... yeah, fair enough, if he wanted that.
For the record, I never minded "Dumb Joey", it still led to some moments I liked, and he was always kind of an idiot - the "worst" it got for me was that it was inconsistent, like he'd know something in one episode, but not another, or there was at least one incident where he was an idiot about the same thing in different ways (Adam's apples.)
