  • There's never enough room in the boot of your camper, especially if your a toy collector like myself.
    I'd been exploring options to remove the spare wheel from the garage and found out there's actually a factory fitted part that can be installed, with nothing to loose we did just that.
    This video shows the installation process (very easy, only 8 bolts)

    Thanks a lot for posting, having seen you video it took me very little time. However, apart form the 2 bolts and nuts M10x100 not supplied I had to use an extra bolt m8x30 for the stopbracket

    good video, my spare wheel is already fitted but the bar was not long enough so like you will have to make a extension, i thought there was something missing.

    Very nice and useful. May I suggest the following?
    Never fix painted pieces one against other without putting some some anti rust in the sandwich, such as butylic or acrylic pate.
    It is not recommended to tighten the two winching plates with pass thru long screws on a rectangular empty chassis piece. Use of hexagonal self riveting nuts is the normal method.
    Fixing the cable on the spare wheel is not shown ...

    Really useful vid, thanks. I bought a carrier on Ebay, but no installation bolts! Can you tell me all I need please pal?

    Thanks for the vid. I have bought the spare wheel carrier kit, which contains two impact plates against which the wheel is pressed; a short one and a long one. You used the short one, why not the long one as this seems more robust? Thanks for your answer

    great video. I have one question as i think i have a shower trap in the way. I also have 225/75/16 wheels. Once the wheel is up and secured is there a gap between the tyre and the beam towards the front, if so are you able to measure the gap. I have been told by the garage that the spare will not fit

    looks good, nice work - I'm wondering where the x2 long 100mm ss bolts that you showed us @ the start went?

    Thanks for the video. Won’t the tyre cover just fill up with debris or worse still, water? Or have you put a drainage hole in it?

    • @otdrmn
      @otdrmn  Před rokem +1

      Hey Marc, the cover fits around the top of the tyre and then the trye is cranked up to the underneath floor, which seals it from water, debris etc.

    Hi Just wondering what was the long bracket you did'nt use was for. Also would a later winch also fit. It seems to be the same.

    • @otdrmn
      @otdrmn  Před 10 měsíci +1

      The longer bracket was for a different chassis and allowed the winching mechanism to be bolted to it and them that bracket bolted to the chassis.
      Re the later winch, I would think so.
      Cheers
