I’m only about two months into the hobby and you’ve have been an invaluable resource for me. I can’t thank you enough for the time/effort that goes into all of the content that you release for us. Looking forward to a future follow up on this, as well as other review-type videos. Cheers!
so hows it goin??
Great review my rc brother 👍🏻💯
Very helpful! Thank you!
Almost bought a DX5C with the AVC receiver. Went with the GT5 because I can still use stability, half the price and stability receivers are $20 not $80.
Thanks for reviewing the dumborc transmitter. I picked one up on Amazon for 26.99. it's an awesome radio for price! Keep up on all the videos there great!
Alex Bekkala how easy is it to bind to the receiver?
@@chromedome5688 mine was already binded
Alex Bekkala if my buddy buys this and I turn in on and turn my esc on will the radio already be binded or will I have to bind it myself
Should just be plug and play ice bought 2 so far both that way.
Alex Bekkala alright I’ll tell my buddy thanks man
Looking for one for my XMaXX! Thank you for this!
nice Shan 1200 sheets later PLUSS 4CELL'S be worth every penny im SURE.... i got Arrma Talion what does a good job for the money...... Have much fun m8 wont be too long and the old weather will start warming up .......tnk fk..................peace out all
Thanks for the second version of this awesome video. What was your choice for the 5th category?
to my understanding the timers were used mainly for nitro engines to see make sure we can see how long the engine's been running so you can refuel before leaning out/or running out of fuel prematurely.
I love my spektrum dx4c!
Thank you for the info 🤓
Great channel i sub - happy new year Bro 👍🏼💪🏼💯💪🏼👍🏼RCFam4Life👍🏼💪🏼💯💪🏼👍🏼
NB4 Hands down #1 mid-range all day everyday!!!!!! I would put up against the radio that cost twice as much!!!
For me the best radio out of the bunch is the gt5 for the price and what it does. It is amazing. It does pretty much all the spectrum radio does. Actually I think it has more features . And is cheaper.
Love my fs-gt5. Had it a while and use it on all my vehicles.
Isn’t it only for boats?
@@dylandahle9578 no
WoooooW very nice
FLYSKY NOBLE. Fantastic.
I've got a graupner gr8 but I was doubting between that and the sanwa mt-s. mt44. I'm glad with my pick though. :)
can any of those set the speed to slow or fast and let the car go without my hand pressing and accelerating it?
Wow nice video
Awesome review as always. I almost got that FlySky but like you said about the GTB thing and hating it and getting to test a Radio Link I got that and really like it. I saw your video with that too. Great vid as always!
How’s the battery life 4X AA of the gt5 vs dx5c
What one has the best range I'm doing an fpv air unit basher truck plz say the dumbo🤞
What is the best type of remote control for rc boat?
I'd like to see your thoughts on the flysky noble
Lee 2fast4u me too! Looks are great, seems to have been brought from the future compared to most of what’s out there: tactile colour screen, usb charging over the usual bells and whistles
I wonder how it does compare with a Spektrum DX5 rugged, which is similarly priced
Nice review. Personally I only see 3 categories besides the super high end if you are coming from a RTR radio I say spend a bit more skip the super low end stuff and get the FlySky or the Spectrum DX5C.
When I chose my secondary radio one of the other things I took into account was the price and availability of Receivers since I would be using it for the majority of my non race spec RC cars. I choose the DX5C BTW price of the radio and buying multiple versions of the RX at the time just worked out an MT44 covers all my club level racing perfectly as you said $500 for a high end M17 is a bit over kill unless you race at the top levels.
Price and availability and you chose spektrum. It's worth a 2 or 3 day shipping wait for a 10 dollar reciever that has more range than humans have vision and crisp controls with no delay ever, unlike spektrum. Flysky all day over spektrums overpriced overhyped junk.
What are the ranges of these transmitters? Im planning to makw fpv trucks that can go far
I think I might go for a flysky GT5 👍 I have want one control to do all my RC for a while now. I'll keep one ttx300 as a backup though.
Do it. You won't regret it. I like the TTX300 on my Granite but the GT5 gave me AVC, end point adjustments and a little better change. It feels well in the hand too
@@AndyRC epa is a great upgrade, I don't really care about avc. Can you do steering mixing for 2 servos like on a 4*4*4 truck?
I'm gonna be replacing my old ass gt2 with the gt5 as well.My brushless slayer is too damn fast and I need that built in gyro to help keep it straight.
i got a 2019Arrma Talion , what had just recently swapped over to the shtty spektrum dx2 handset . oopos..appologies it was the spektrum STX2. and shtty it certailny was,, hense loads of people have been hoofing them straight .. I was really lucky and happend across an unused Tactic ttx300....whats a miles bettet handset.....hands down... that being said , it looks like there upping there game with there RTR platform handsets and making them a but more "gimicky" if you will.considdering how many units Horizon hobby are busting out the least ou expect is a half sensible handset / speed controller............ ive had no problems with the tactic, there obviously bit dated now , but serve a workworthy piece... funnily enough i brought an FS5 with 6ch and giro in reciever for 50 English, i share that between a hobbyking drfit 1/10 , and a 1/10 XSP se 1/10 buggy ( tuned but not too much as geering prob' turn to mash !!}..
I just brought a Yama Baja buggy 30cc 2stroke, whats my first dive into drivetrain other than brushless.... weather shit ere in UK got havent even thought about taking her for a spin..... Thats got a Flysky FS2, simple 3 channel caper no thrills n spills.... has eight batteries so im hopeful that with the reciever and servos being powered by onboard batt' pack that it may have a half sensible range to it. THE FLYSKY GT5 or 6 whatever it is , is a good controller, just seem to remember ( if correctly that is) that ther may have been a niggle with the overall range........... All the Lawrnce... Ginger from UK
@@ianhearnden4471 i heard the the same, the gt5 has a discrepancy it seems on the range. Some good some bad reviews on range.
Same with other issues.
Comes together as an issue with quality control?
So this is the transmitter (GT5) that I think I'll get, but it would seem that I'm gonna be rolling the dice on it.
(Make sure to buy from a trusted source with free returns).
I need the extra channels, on a budget, and the extras that it has would be nice...
If it all works!
Unless there's a better one. I know little, and am trying to make the decision now.
Will any transmitter and receiver work for any rc
Just wondering, do you have a similar review for 2.4Ghz stick transmitters for RC cars ? I have the Flysky FS-GT5 now but still so used to my now vintage transmitter.
Hi, I have a wind hobby crawler, the pilot have a camera, ears and movement but I don´t have the radio. do you now what kind off radio do I need to buy? thanks in advance
this might have been covered before... but how do you hook a new controller to a rc vehicle... I'm looking at having a couple different Traxxas vehicles... which all come with 2.4 Ghz controllers... but am not sure how you would choose and then connect a 'fancier' controller?
Is the Flysky FS-GT5 SVC better the Spektrum - SPMRSLT300?
Do you have a VRX SCT or something like it, be great if you can also share your Arsenal if RC cars/trucks
What's a good remote/receiver for a HPI baja 5b? With the 2 stroke still in it
I just bought my new rc truck and the remote broke on like the 3 day and I was wondering like.... can I hook up any remote? or like how would I connect it to my car?
Didn’t see a way to email the question to you (and I know it’s not a popular way to do it in the states) but do you have any options or experience with something like the Radio Link T8S?
So for the DX5C. If I wanted to use that with a Traxxas Slash VXL. Do I use it with the Traxxas receiver or? And If so, does the AVC from the radio work with the Traxxas stability? Thanks.
Helo sir.. How many RCcar does this under 100 transmitter can be used on ,? thanks
I can't see the full image of the Transmitters in the video
does a plane radio have longer range than a car radio?
looking at the dx5, im sure its better than rtr radio but is there a big speed/response difference?
hello...i'm new in the rc car world...i have a wl 144001 and want to upgrade...how about radiolink rc4gs transmitter...it's recomend?
Hi, how about range of the Flysky compared to the Dumbo, some say Dumbo has range of 400-500meters, any info about the Flysky range?
you get what you pay for, i have a 700 dollar 7PX and its worth every penny. Plus it controls every single race vehicle i own or will ever own.
That's my thought process, get something I can have for years or multiple vehicles. Especially since most cars come with radios anyhow.
Dylan Chadderton For 700$ I could build a Proline mt10 with a Futaba 4pm and still be able to bind years worth of vehicles to it as well. Only sponsored club racers would ever need a radio of that price point
Octavian Caesar not true, for my sized fingers I needed the adjustable triggers. The 4PM does not allow this. It’s a small but very important thing for me and greatly affects how I drive.
Hey bud cool vid 👊 have you tried the hp007 and if so how does it match up to the gt5 please bud? New supporter here 🙏🙏👍
Nice review bud. I tried the Radiolink RC6GS and the FLYSKY FS-GT5 and like the GT5 much more. I went with both based on your reviews.
Overall, yeah I like the FS-GT5 better.
@@RazorRC I was just about to buy the Spectrum DX5C at one point and then saw the price of the SR6000 receiver here in Canada and changed my mind. I could get 4 flysky Gyro receivers for the price of one spektrum so that was deciding factor. Otherwise I would have gone DX5c. Maybe one day I will do it anyways but so far the flysky has surpassed by expectations.
@@AndyRC with the transmitter do you have to buy new receivers? You can't use the old receivers?
Hi i´m pretty new at rc cars and I was wondering, can i use the dumborc control this two cars? a rc hotweels with the R4FGM radiolink reciever, and a diecast 1/24 1979 ford f150 that i´m trying to built into a rc crawler
Any thoughts on the dx5 rugged?
I’m using the RTR radio that came with the Arrma Big Rock. Its very slow steaming & throttle response. It glitches from time to time and poor response from 200 ft or more. What are a few I can purchase with almost immediate response.???Not so interested in adjustments as I am signal response for throttle and steering...And it should be left handed as well .
I'd love to see a review of the flysky noble. Thanks for all the great content.
thanks, if I can get my hands on one I will
@@RazorRC LMFAO
I am trying to find a good controller for I have the Traxxas x Maxx 8s. It has the hobby Wing easy run Max 5 I'm trying to find a good transmitter for it. Is there anything out there that you can do all the adjustments?? Please and thank you?
How can you not like the GT3b? Ive owned one since 2012. Ive got it fully modded out and its still doing work to this day.
The same with the flysky
gt3c, it has numerous adjustments, rechargeable battery, inexpensive receivers "less than 10bucks", 10 car memory, backlit screen, good range, and the modulation and response compared to the stock light switch traxxas receivers is night and day and the real reason I purchased it for the stampedes for that control....Have been using it for 3 years with zero issues on my stampedes...Just have to take care of it like anything else.....Boogie on !!!
Plizzzz someone answer me if I buy one of these I can play with my yd-2s plizzz answer cause I am noob
Can someone help? Which would anyone prefer for mid range on ground fpv? I want to surprise someone with a new transmitter but don't know what would suit his hobby:/
On radios controls one point is really important and need to be analyzed. The Frame rates speed.
Hi, apologies for the total noob question here, can the fly sky (or really any other “nicer” controller) be used with an RTR in place of the one that came with the car
In most cases yes
Picked up a Futaba 4PV from A Main before they stopped selling them. Waiting for a hobby shop to move into my area to use it.
Yeah I didn't like that Futaba discontinued it. If it breaks I'll have to downgrade to the 4PM :(
@@alb9022 I'm not too worried about it breaking. They still sell parts so I can repair it. Plus it's the most expensive radio I've bought to date so I bought the hook and lanyard for it. So hopefully no breaking.
Al B The 4pm isn’t a downgrade really. I would rather spend 30$ less on the 4pm honestly for the minor differences between the two
im looking for something i can use for a tyco 27mhz RC suzuki motorcylce...anybody, any suggestions???
what about Radiolink RC6GS?
hi, how many languages on these radio?
What's your take on stick controllers for crawling ?
Hell no
What's wrong with gt3 mine has tons of range (1/4 mile or more) has end points,d/r,3 channels, dirt cheap receivers, have no complaints for 30$ plus you can hack it and get up to like 8 channels or something like that
Can somebody explain me why those RC radio transmitters all look like this? And not something like a controller from a gaming console? Which in my opinion would be a lot nicer to hold in the hand and drive. With just a display in the middle of the controller.
Very good review I agree with just about everything. Except spectrum, everybody I know that owns an arrma RC throws away the Spectrum Radio.
I am in the market for a radio to replace the DX2E for my LOSI 8 RTR nitro buggy. I was going to go with the FlySky GT3B based on price and the Amazon reviews. I watch a lot of your vids so I know your are experienced and I value your input. I am going to spend the extra 30 bucks and get the FS-GT5. Thx Razor.
Ron Basher totally worth it, there is a huge difference, thanks for watching!
Which do you think is better between the GT5 and the RadiolinkRC6gs?? Thank you for your vids
search youtube, tell me if you find anything...!
Dose it have gyro?
Notice that you did not have the RC6GS. Thinking it would have made this list based on your other videos. Any reason?
I had one
Also do you know if I can add multiple vehicles to the one dumbo transmitter so I can just buy another receiver?
Alex Bekkala No it isn’t a multi vehicle radio. For as cheap as it is why would you not just get another. Even the 4channel version with the gyro receiver is only 25$.
What's the best remote for speedruns bro no budget
it's going
Broke the wheel in my dx5c and cant find any replacements. Now I just gorilla glue it and hope it doesn't fall or get bumped too hard :(
i dont know anymore You must not know how to use the internet. One look will show you A-Main Hobbies has replacement wheels as well as numerous other places like eBay and Amazon.
Love my gt5 but the trigger button broke early on....easy fix but could be stronger. The Dumbo RC is a revelation! True, no EPA but other than that it's amazingly good, the range is ridiculous never measured it but certainly >300m. Gyro actually works well too, for me better than the GT5's. Great reviews RazorRC.
Flysky GT3 is good radio if you dont mint little bit of modding. Power switch, custom firmware and you got cheap 8ch radio. I am using GT3 for years now. I had only 2 issues with this radio. power switch (just broken wires. it is design flaw. New switch on body and it is fixed pernamently). Second problem was defective rotary encoder which I had to replace. And that was all. For 40usd still good choice. But it is old radio so i have ordered GT5 and we wil se if it become pernament replacement.
WHat is the safest and most reliable transmitter/receiver? I ride electric longboard and it is so scary when it does something it is not supposed to. Thank you.
Esk8 Spirit I would say Futaba
I hear those dumbos are nice
unbelievable for $30
@@RazorRC I got the Turbo Speed Transmitter for around the same price on eBay it's a rebranded kyosho I think.. LED screen up top.. Pretty cool
No mention of the range on them . Can’t see an easy to use throttle limiter on them ?
will the dx5c radio bind with my traxxas trx 4 bronco with traxxas rx and running gear i e esc bec and so forth
Michael Rajca need a receiver for the dx5c. Won’t work with a traxxas receiver.
Can you connect that first controller to any rc car?
with the included receiver, yes
Just a small correction, concerning some popular brands RTR radios...
Both TTX300 and Traxxas TQi have steering endpoint adjustment.
So in those cases, going for the dumbo would be downgrading. Gyro stabilization is properly adjustable just on a GT5 and above, anyway.
id love to see an updated list for 2021
Yeah, I'll do one again this year.
Initially, I was considering a Sanwa. If I only intended on having a few RC vehicles, then Sanwa would have been a good choice. Unfortunately, while the Tx is relatively inexpensive, their Rx process are a bit on the overly-high side. The Futaba Rxs tend to be 1/2 to 2/3 the price of the Sanwa Rxs. My 8th vehicle (another kit, as I much prefer kits over RTRs) arrived today, plus I already have two others in mind. That's 10 Rxs. With Sanwa's race-level Rxs, at approx $100 each, that $800, in addition to the original Tx price (an MT-44 is $250, which totals out at $1,050). An equivalent Tx from Futaba (4PM) is $270, with equivalent Rxs costing only $55ea, totaling out at $765...a $285 savings. In my case, knowing I'd need additional changes, I picked up a 7PX (essentially, the top Tx available). With those exact same Rxs, that would only be $1,095...or $45 more than the Sanwa MT-44 w/ 9 additional Rxs.
The point is, if you only plan on having a few vehicles, then, yes, Sanwa could be a great way to go (although, the Futaba is on-par with it, and actually exceeds it in some ways)...but, if you're in the market for a new Tx, and you KNOW that you'll have at least 7 vehicles, then Futaba is a better, smarter, and more cost-efficient way to go.
The Futaba R304GF-E is the best receiver ever made! Can't argue with you on that one, although a number of companies are now making clone Sanwa receivers for about $40. So if you're OK with off-brand ones, it's reasonable to run Sanwa now.
@@RazorRC I have several R304SBS, an R304SBS-E, an R324SBS, a couple R334SBS, and now an R2006GS (for the Axial Capra 1.9 I'm about to start building).
I'm actually surprised you can find the time to maintain, shop for parts and drive all 8 vehicles without burning out.
@@alb9022 Actually, I don't...not the "time" point, but the 8 vehicles part. Right now, only 2 are fully operational...2 others are currently in 'rolling chassis' status, waiting to be "converted", 2 are built but currently without ESC/motor, 1 I'm building (should finish tomorrow, except for ESC/motor & painting body), and 1 (Axial Capra) kit was just delivered today. However...once my new position at work (went from Class C chauffeur, to Class B chauffeur, approx 2 months ago) had me on more "stable" hours/days, then I'll start having more time to "play"/race.
Besides the DumboRC X6 and Flysky FS-GT5, what alternative is there for an intermediate/basher radio that has a built-in gyro ?
I think the Radiolink RC-6GS has a gyro.
I'm really coming around to the DX5C! I replaced the flysky with the DX5C. The flysky served me well in the beginning but let me down at the end, lol!
Nice! Love the DX5C, the binding sucks, but otherwise it’s good. The main reason I do these videos is so that people don’t buy junk like the FS-GT3C. 👍
@@RazorRC Binding on the new 2 and 3 channel spektrum receivers is just a button push like Futaba. Plus they are super tiny. Check it out 👍
How'd the Flysky let you down at the end?
@@alb9022 I was referring to the flysky FSGT3C. It wouldn't hold a charge, so I bought a new battery. Less than three months later that battery went dead. The scroll wheel stopped working and it has a ton of lag even compared to an rtr. So I upgraded and couldn't believe I waited so long, the DX5C is that much better, lol!
@@GreatLakesRC those look great, definitely will pick one up next time I need anther Spektrum receiver

Chrome Dome the dumborc radio comes with a receiver, and plug into your esc and bind
What's the range? I want something that can be use for a bit of long range
kingofkards11 over 400m
Will a new transmitter/reciever eliminate the lag time?
Jose Luis Lopez yes!
Will any of these work with a Tamiya tt02 ?
Yes. TT02 only needs 2 channel.
Dumbo RC does have endpoint adjustment put the remote in program mode
can someone help me out. I am making my own RC tank with a 3D printer, I need a trans & rec that will allow the two motors to go forward or reverse independently ( easy to do with a dual stick radio ) but can it be done with these kind of controllers ?
Yes. Get a Sabertooth dual channel ESC and you can use a pistol grip for a tracked vehicle.
@@BF-kn9ih Thank You
