    What Is Blood Pressure?
Blood pressure refers to the force that the blood in your vessels exerts on the walls of your arteries. For your blood pressure measurement, you're probably familiar with the two numbers. The top number or systolic blood pressure and the bottom number, diastolic blood pressure. The systolic blood pressure refers to the pressure in your vessels when the heart is contracting or squeezing. The diastolic blood pressure refers to the pressure in your vessels when the heart is relaxed.

And to think how we’ve spent the last year worrying about what’s going on outside (Corona) when we should be worried about what’s going on inside. Gotta get out and walk 30 minimum every day, reduce the sodium, stop watching the news, talk to family/friends instead of social media. Elevated BP > heart attack or stroke is the real pandemic we’re living with before and after Corona. Thank you Dr. Frita.

The key thing is exercise I've found. Nothing brings down BP naturally then simply having an active lifestyle. I think people who are sedentary aren't going to get anywhere with a diet alone that isn't particularly significant like low carb. I mean, that's who low carb was originally meant for, people who won't or are unable to have active lifestyles.

I'm recently diagnosed with hypertension and now take 3 pills daily . My first warning was severe headache while I slept, which woke me up two nights in a row..following advice I went straight to hospital where the nurse recorded my bp at 258/130 and it stayed there for hours until they found a pill that worked . Every morning I check my bp and it is around the 150/80 mark until the meds kick in . Since being diagnosed I have experienced back pain, breathlessness, headaches and blurry vision . I have frequent blood and urine tests .. I am far from out of the woods ,infact I am in the thick of them . When my bp was at 258/130 I actually had no symptoms but apparently I was as close as can get to meeting my maker and I am stunned I'm stunned and shocked to still be here.. So hanging in here and appreciate finding your videos .

Leave the medicine alone because that stuff always has side effects, or and some type of after effects. But instead buy you a sauna, or use a sauna at a facility. Because saunas at the right temperature for the right amount of time causes weight loss, stress release, bone treatment, salt release, and yes lower blood pressure. In which everytime you use one within a matter of a couple of days or so it lowers BP. Meaning if you use one 2 times in a week that's 2 different times it got lowered(making the last time lower than before).

So crazy as I workout 3x a week and eat fairly healthy. My worry is sometimes the meds they prescribe cause side effects - mainly sudden dizziness.
But will make sure I go through it with my doctor and find the right meds to control this.

Thank you Dr. Frita. This is information I'm well aware of (I have stayed on top of my hypertension since it was discovered 10 years ago) with vigorous excercise, a vegan diet and a daily 5 mg valsartan, I'm managing to keep my BP baseline at apprx 119/71. Why I really appreciate this info I can share this video with many of my friends in my age group (mid-50's to early 60's) who simply do not take hypertension seriously.

This is among the best high blood pressure treatment I`ve read t.co/GsO1JmyXtf The guide is created in an simple and a lot less technical phrases, which makes it super easy to go by. Those who are ill-fated to have high blood pressure need to have this book. Prior to, I have my blood pressure at 120/80, thanks to this guideline, I was in a position to lower it. .

@@392_RHINO No. My Dr. took me off my last medication (5mg Amlodipine) in January of 2021. I am controlling it by diet and exercise, but recognize that I will have to monitor my blood pressure for the rest of my life, and at some point I may have to return to medication.

I usually get the headache (like having my head in a vice) and the pressure behind my eyes when my pressure is up. I have to keep my sodium intake at no more than 1k mg a day. I have an app on my phone to keep track of my intake. Generally, I've got to eat fruits and vegetables, most if the day.

Thank you for your videos Dr. Frita, can you create a video of actions to take in a hypertension crisis as well as heart attach crisis. Some folks have been short lived because the right actions have not been taken in time to reduce the pressure, some folks may not know what to do or what not to do as well.
Thanks for continuing to keep us informed and educated.

Dr. Frita, I went on a whole food plant based diet with no avocados, no rice, no pasta, no salt, no added sugars or artificial sweetners and no oil and by emphasizing dark green vegetables, steel cut oatmeal and beans daily and excludes alcohol, sugary drinks and regular coffee (decaf only) and my pressure dropped to 85/60 (with medication) and I have lost 20 lbs. in two months without exercise! I steam my food and sauté in vegetable broth that has no salt. I don’t eat anything that isn’t from nature! I’m losing 2 lbs per week easily. I do take medication- a calcium channel blocker and a diuretic but prior to my diet change my pressures were still not consistently controlled. Now I have hope with continued weight loss that I can get rid of the pills altogether. And I feel amazing. We all need to stop eating processed foods that have all the fiber and potassium removed and are loaded with sugar, fat and salt: these foods are killing people!!

WOW! I don't know your baseline bp, but 85/60 is usually too low for the average person. I'm sure you contacted your doctor. You are on effective medication for your bp that will likely need to be titrated with numbers like this. Your weight loss is so awesome. Keep it up, and continue to monitor, log, and share your readings with your doctor.👏👏👏
