Much respect for Baal and Mad KOF, their fight was so legendary Evo was ashamed they didn't bring KOF in sooner. Easily one of the most intense fights in all of Evo history.
I remember watching this live, and the second Bala took forever to pick his team when he was tied 2-2 with MadKOF I thought to myself "He's done". Hope to see these guys again next EVO. If he gets over his nerves Bala will be a beast.
Amazing! Something about KoF....when you see skilled players play, it doesn't look like spamfests like a lot of other competitive games do. Not demeaning the skill involved in other games, it's just that many of them reward precise timing of repeat techniques. KoF is so very deep and varied, man. Makes for great watching.

maaaan kof13 is such a hype game! I bought the game a few months after release and I love it! The game is extremely difficult though, not because of the really high execution combos, but the amount of options you have with your meter and other sources. It's really hard to confirm a very long combo when you're in a lot of pressure, and then having to decide what is the most optimal combo. After that, see if you can actually get the combo done. Very clean game IMO, huge respect.

This tourney was so damn fine dude, the level of play was on TOP and the hype was real, sadly this was the last KOF game that actually worthed a damn. I believe we will never see anything like that ever again

Not only Korea, Japan or Mexico, here in Argentina are too many boys and girls playing KOF right now, and every day and every night, i know, the kof saga is playing all around the world, but in many latin america countries are some of the best players, and never are invited to the tournaments like evo

I just realized Mr Wizard said the KOFXIII Top 8 took 3 hours and 45 minutes and set a record for longest Top 8...which is funny since it's actually under 3 hours and UMVC3's Top 8 was actually a couple of minute longer, lol.

It's best two out-of-three. Also, people are sent to the losers bracket, where they get a chance to play in the grand final, but at a disadvantage, as they must win twice.

I do not keep track of KOF anymore. But at least in early 2000 series, Mad and his buddies used to school top Japanese players - those games were not even close. As for Mexican players being too good, I do not believe it until I see it. That is exactly what US players used to say at Tekken until a Korean guy came to his first Evo (first Tekken Tag) and destroyed everyone. He was not even the best player in Korea either. So I do not believe it until I see it - no offense.
So true! most of them are unbelievably good. like Bala x 2 its insane! but unfortunately they don't have the luxury of traveling or the means to enter these competition because 1- funding 2- lack of knowledge that these types of tournaments exsist and 3- transport

I dont know the ends and outs of the KOF series but I love watching the matches its just so different and a little more lively than SF matches.
