    In my opinion, the AGDW is better by a long shot. It contains so much new information on the tribes, characters, objects and events, and the Warriors Guide just doesn't have that. The Warriors Guide is a mistake-riddled reprint, while the WoF Guide is a new masterpiece! Praise for AGDW!!!!

      Yeah, and it even shows how smolder interacted with rose/flower. The warriors guide is mire like a guide to the characters.

    i've read both, i def like the wings of fire guide more, i think its a more enjoyable guide, it reads like a story, but the warriors one isn't really a story, it just is listing their life. only 1 thing was 'new', the other stories where in the old guide. the wings of fire guide- i liked most things about it

    The Warrior Cats guide is more informative. But there's a high chance that the information in it will be false, forgotten or retconned by the books themselves.
    At least with WoF, you know that the lore is consistent; and any changes will have an in-story explanation.

    In the dragon guide, I was a little disappointed that the scorching and 'legend of the hive' segments were rather plain and seemed more like a copy-paste of what was already given in earlier books. Obviously it makes sense in canon as these things were so long ago and there wouldn't be many, if any, surviving records from then. But, still, I didn't really like them.
    The only real 'new' information we get is that rainwings and seawings were among the refugees to Pantala, who then either get wiped out by the breath of evil, return home, or are so few in number that their bloodlines get subsumed by the other two tribes... Like how technically Sunny is part icewing and a distant relative of Prince Winter, on account of having animus dragons in her family tree..

    I haven’t bought either book yet, but I’m thinking that I may get A Guide to the Dragon World after hearing people’s opinions. I have a hard time justifying buying supplemental material for book series (that’s why I stopped buying the wof graphic novels) but if it’s mostly new content, I’m interested.

  • @JustDuckiest
    @JustDuckiest Před 5 měsíci +6

    I haven't bought either but I'll probably end up buying the WoF one. I just can't get past the errors in the Warriors one, it's ridiculous. Plus, the art is uninspired. Other countries get such wonderful art for their Warriors books!
    Warriors seems like they need a good editor to look over their books. Even the main series books are filled with errors (and some just simple spelling errors that could easily be fixed by anybody). CARE about your books writing team, PLEASE.

    I wholeheartedly agree! AGDW is so much better and the fact that it's CHEAPER is wild to me. This inspired me to go read AGDW again, it really is so fun to read which is something I absolutely cannot say for the warrior's guide.

    I've only read the WoF guide, and after having been hyped up for a year I found it kinda underwhelming. Like, it wasn't bad, but it was a lot shorter and more condensed than I was expecting. And while the expanded lore was nice it sorta came off more as a handful of anecdotes.
    That being said, I've been following the fandom on and off for nearly a decade and am almost certainly outside of the target demographic by now.

    I have both the guide to the dragon world and the warriors ultimate guide(which, fun fact, I was given after reading BOOK ONE of the series. Never in all my time reading the books or being in the fandom have I been unable to read any content without foreknowledge of what will happen), so this was fun to see! Wings of fire for the win :3

    Warriors and wings of fire!?!?! Both my fav books 😊but I was really mad that wings of fire won. I guess it’s probably better (I’ve never read the wings of fire one) but I just love warriors so much better. I would give wings of fire a 8/10 but I would give warriors a 9.5/10 so I’m kinda mad

      The first two arcs are actually quite solid and are good reads, it’s just the third arc that is more flawed but even then it’s not that bad

      Personally, I really love WoF, and if you don't that's alright.
      What I like is there's moments where you can feel that one mistake a character makes could potentially harm many dragons. The writing style for the series is quality and the events of the series are paced very well.
      Some gimmicks are really cool, like the idea of animus dragons, mind control, and the Eye of Onyx.

    • @pyronuke4768
      @pyronuke4768 Před 5 měsíci +3

      I've been following WoF off and on for almost a decade now. I've seen both the best and worst it has to offer and the bottom line is: it's a fun teen fantasy series with well written leads in an immersive world that does a decent job of combining character development with the plot. And it has a lot of thought-provoking ideas buried below the surface.
      It does have its fair share of issues though. My main grievance is the author's tendency to get tunnel vision. It's not so bad in individual books, but when you step back and look at the bigger picture, the tone and pacing is a little inconsistent between installments and cross-book subplots are left without proper build-up/payoff sometimes.
      But overall I think it's a pretty decent series whose parts are better than the whole.

      @@pyronuke4768Oh yes, I completely agree with you! I love wings of fire so much though, I'm so glad this series was recommended to me. It's not for everyone but I've loved the hell out of it for years and I'm in love with Tui's writing. I love how she makes nearly every pov unique and her characters and how she develops them are brilliant. I can always read her books over and over again and never get bored (other than the third arc, that is). I've probably read Darkstalker over 20 times and it's still such a thrilling book!
