ABOUT TDR EXPLORER
---
Hi, 👋🏽 My name is Chris, aka TDRExplorer. I started sharing my theme park adventures. Over the years, TDRExplorer has become a resource for passionate theme park fans looking to make the most of their trips to Asia, including Tokyo Disneyland and Universal Studios Japan!
Watch all my other Fantasy Springs videos so you know how to navigate this area like a pro! czcams.com/play/PLYiTKnRG1VUc-mUaK-8ZXkqtKV-Xt_2_1.html
TDR great video thank you! Planning on a 2025 Marbut vacation for my grandsons, who are experienced Disney World explorers. As in this vid seeking a simple way for ten people to experience the most rides between the parks over five days. PS this vacation will be over Christmas 2025. Help me! Planning on buying your guide when the come comes sooner.
Dude, I saw you were there at Universal Studios Japan just now in the afternoon.
not me sitting here watching this while waiting in line for fantasy springs

Ahhhh happy birthday Chris!!!
I miss the late 90s early 2000s too … I’m an 80s baby and also June is my birth month too😂
This is the video people should watch (they should watch all your videos, but follow this one)….the vacation packages are ridiculously priced! Journey is always our first ride since it’s the best and we always plan to ride it twice
Your videos are the best! So helpful as we planned our vacation. I was at Tokyo Disneyland on Friday - that rain was crazy!!!!!
This was so extremely helpful! I’ll be there in about three weeks without a package so I appreciate you showing the fantasy springs process!
Ooh wow, your mobile orders seem to work out just fine! We couldn’t order through the app for some reason, all our credit cards weren’t working but if you explain to cast members that you couldn’t place an order since your credit card doesn’t work through their app, they let you buy at the cashier! That’s how we were able to eat twice at the Snuggly Duckling! And happy birthday, Chris, love your videos a lot! Your tips have really helped us get through the craze that’s Fantasy Springs right now and I’m so happy we managed to do Rapunzel, Peter Pan and Frozen with your advice! 💗💗
We have a Chase Visa card. If the card doesn't go through, what do you suggest we do to pay for the DPA (if one is available) while in the park?
@@UtotheJfor some reason when we tried for the DPA it worked?? So I think only mobile orders seem to have problems. I think you should be fine for DPA, it’s really just mobile orders that didn’t work for us.
I’m so excited to see Fantasy Springs! Hoping to plan a trip soon! And honestly Vulcania is one of my favorite Disney restaurants, food and decor are on point.
Aww, baby Chris is so cute! The 90s/00s were the best. I definitely had that period too. June is the best birthday month ;)
Everytime you mention your Apple 🍎 drinks I just know we would have the same taste in candle fall scents hahahaha
Happy beloved birthday 🥳 🎂 ❤ You are my favorite Disney Vlogger🥰
Your ふあふあ while squishing the bread had me cracking up 🤣 This vid was super helpful as always, thank you!!
Happy birthday!! This video is so good.
Thanks so much for mentioning about the mobile data issue at entrance, and for the tip.
Thanks for all your tips! We visited Disneyland two weeks ago and had a great time!
Thanks for this! Perfect timing for this to come out since I’m going next week! This video was really helpful. Also, the guidebook is so well done. This is a must have for anyone going to TDR!
Chris, your skin looks gorgeous! Keep up the good skincare.
Thanks so much for the thorough explanations, it helps a lot with planning our upcoming trip to Disney Sea. You're the best!!
Happy Birthday!! 🎉
I'm surprised Disney doesn't have an automated message that plays over the loud speakers throughout the park for emergencies like earthquakes that cycles through the warning in multiple languages.
If you check out videos of the parks during the 311 earthquake in 2011, they do have those announcements.
Thank you Chris for making this video. We are planning to go to Tokyo Disneysea in August and will be staying at a Disney Partner hotel. This video helps us to gauge the time needed to arrive at DisneySea with small child.
Love this! And the breakdown of who should do what in the group is hilarious. Very helpful for an upcoming trip! Thank you! ❤
I found your videos because my friend and I going Oct 2025! I'll definitely be using your tips and tricks. Thanks for all the Tokyo Disney content!
Happy Birthday and thank you!! This was exactly what I wanted to see. We're staying at the Mira Costa in July, so will get to enter a little earlier, but I really wanted to know about getting the DPA and stand by passes. We're hoping to try the Snuggly Duckling because they have vegetarian options.
Nice video. Loved the part with the "I feed my cameranman." 😂 Those meals looked soo good.
I really miss the fake meals outside the resturants. They made thing so much easy to choose on my trip in Japan. Wish we could have that here in Sweden.
Belated birthday wishes, Chris. ❣️🥳
Thank you for sharing these awesome video Great Job😊,safe travels from Northern California USA.
Thank you, Chris for exploring this option despite the rain!! your videos really help us in planning our trips!! more power to you & your team!!🤍
Nice information.
Wow... I was also there on Friday the 21st (mainly to try and get on the rides I missed 2 days earlier).
Given I was staying near Haneda, the earliest I could get there was 8:30am, and by the time into the park, most DPA's etc for Fantasy Springs had gone. I did manage to get Rupunzel's on Standby Pass, but due to the Rain (and being soaking wet), plus it being a 1hr wait (mostly outside) I gave it a miss... next time.
Love your videos, having visited the parks in Anaheim & Orlando (over 100 times since 1990) I am torn now, as the parks in Tokyo are next level awesome. Hong Kong is great for a single day experience, Shanghai was way better than expected... but Tokyo... wow (Paris Parks are in a few months time for the first time).
Aloha Chris!
Great, comprehensive info video. I was fortunate to go to Disney Sea on a Monday in May. My friend had an “educated hunch” that it will be a preview FS opening and it was. Very lucky to get in. It was all Standby pass and got 2x for Peter Pan (although the ride broke on the 2nd) and Frozen. Both masterpieces!
Guidebook subscriber and I appreciate your attention to detail.
Going to be there in October but couldn’t secure a FS hotel res at the 4 month ahead mark. Website was too congested. Your tactics with a regular ticket looked successful so perhaps I don’t have to buy the vacation package. 🤑
Mahalo and keep up the great work! 🤙🏼
Happy birthday! June is the best birthday month (totes no bias here).
Hi! Could you please try doing a video trying to do as many rides as possible with a one-day DisneySea ticket and a weeknight 5:00 PM Disneyland ticket?
I was the same back in the late 90's wild hair and giant pants!
Hey Chris Happy Birthday! I just also uploaded a video was also rainy day in Fantasy Springs (Without a vacation pacakage)!!! I think I may meet you there that day haha!!!
Thanks for this.. in regards to adding children to your group that are booked under one booking on one app how do we do this? So that we can book together
Happy Birthday Chris! 🎉 love your shirt! Where did you buy it?
Oh nooooo, the egg plant slices on the Mabo Doufu aren’t there anymore. So glad you ordered it, I would have been so disappointed otherwise. Now my expectations have been managed so I can just enjoy that Vulcanian vibe.
Not you being an OG Kandi Kid!, HBD! 🥳🥳🥳🥳
Hi Chris. May I know your tips on getting into the duffy store? I wasn’t able to get in the last time I was there
I was in DisneySea in May of 2023 when it started raining cats and dogs, so waiting times for all attractions including Soaring plummeted to 5-10 minutes. I didn't know it's even possible 😂😂😂
Im going in December so I'm hopeful that i can do DPA / Standby!
hi Chris I would also wait an hour per attraction more no I need to try apple tea soda 🦅
16:41 how do they enforce the Fantasy Springs stay times? couldn't a guest just stay over their allotted time?
I believe it isn’t a stay time once you enter you don’t have to leave.
@@lindamemo5224 thanks
One thing my husband and I learned while at TDR was that the Japanese have the patience of monks lol They're able to wait in 2-3 hour long lines and be fine with it
A Japanese pancake restaurant is opening in my city! They named it "Fuwa Fuwa"! For context I'm in North Alabama, US. 😂
I am planning to go to Disney Sea on a Monday in early September, should I still follow all of these steps to get into the park as early as possible or is there a chance that the crowds won’t be as high because it is not peak summer?
Hi. We are going to Disneysea this fall. Just want to ask, once we scan all the tickets in one of our celphone to book for one attraction standby pass and use another phone with same tickets scanned on the app then book another attraction inside fantasy springs
How much is DPA for each ride at Disney Springs? Also once you get in, you can stay as long as you want?
Ohhh that’s why “fuwa fuwa” 😂
Hi! Have you had any issues with other credit cards?
I'm curious if Mondays will be more or less crowded since its vacation season.
do people staying at disney hotels have a better chance? im staying in mira costa and will be going to tokyo disney july 12&13
I am still a little unsure about how fantasy springs works. Excuse me if you maybe mentioned that and I just missed that part.
If I get a time slot for a ride in fantasy springs do I just have to que up in that certain time, or do I have to be riding the ride in that certain time period, meaning I would need to consider the wait time when queing up for a ride.
So the max passes you can claim at one time is 2 (DPA and Stand by?) What about the 40th anniversary pass?
Went to Disney sea JUST for fantasy springs and it’s literally impossible to get ticket for frozen
Wait 1 year before going so the hype kinda comes down
It’s not the stress to get into fantasy springs
if you have the vacation package or staying at Disney springs hotel , which runs at over $1000/night
So unless you are rich it’s not going to happen
If you get to ride 2 of out 4 rides that’s insanely lucky
Also Rapunzel ride is about 2 min long with the lantern scene being the highlight
do you guys know if i can book stabdby pass for 5 person in one app? thanks
YES! Please, pretty please can you do a merch haul video?? Also do they have Anna & Elsa plush dolls that look like “dolls” that they play with in the movie? I thought I saw them in someone’s vlog but can’t find it - going in November for my dream trip off lifetime & would love one (or both) thank you!
To my knowledge those dolls are sold out and not sure when they'll be back.
@@tdrexplorer thank you so very much for your reply ..at least I know I didn’t dream about them! 🤭 ..love your channel - so helpful for planning and just to watch for enjoyment - you are such a kind soul 🥰
One question you said that the park opens At 9 am but you enter before that time, This happens every day? When is the real time that the park opens??? If i stay at a hotel disney when i have to enter?? Sorry myenglish is bad thank you
Jnco jeans, man do I miss those pants lol.
Is it worth buying a vacation package for less crowded months like September?
How much of this success had to do with the rain? Would it have been much more difficult with longer lines if it was clear skies, or is attendance in Japan entirely undeterred by weather conditions?
So is standby pass like a fast pass or it’s just that you can get in the line ?
Standby is the normal line
I was sweating over here ... when you were trying to grab those attractions
Journey to center of earth is already 20 years old??? Wow. Where did that time go?
Hi
Hey Chris, I am the only one staying on property out of my group. Would I be able to book a dpa or standby for my group if I’m in the park before anyone else? Thank you!
Nope, everyone has to be scanned into the park with their ticket.
@@tdrexplorer thank you!
If I want to go back to Tokyo, which month is the less rainy season?
just avoid late june / early july and you'll be good. Rainy season is usually around now for a few weeks
@@ThisIsDownstate Ok, but aren't June and July are very hot months in Japan?
@@kylekeller3398 June is not sooo hot usually, but as the years go by it's definitely getting hotter earlier in the last few years. The main problem with mid June to early July for me is the rain combined with it being up to 30C, so as you can imagine, the humidity is gross. For me, tbh I avoid going from around now until mid September cos it's just too wet and humid until mid July and then it's just unbearably hot for the remainder of july and august
@@ThisIsDownstate Gotcha
Make video wat u buy
Can u do a food update of the parks lol
Any American food options there
Would you recommend. I get a wise card? Tokyo Disney is known to reject American card and rejected mine. I am been in Japan about a year and have been to Tokyo Disney multiple times and I have only been able to buy one Disney premier access pass with my American card out of five times I been last year alone. Other time I have tried it has rejected my card. And when that happens I just go to guest relations. But with me planning my new trip to fantasy springs I nervous I won’t be able to purchase the DPA if my American card get rejected. And I fight with it in the app. Then just hope by the time I get to guest relations and hope there not all sold out so I can pay in cash.
Any thoughts on maybe how I can get a Japanese prepaid card maybe that might work for Tokyo Disney for ordering the tickets plus DPA passes for the new fantasy springs. I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you again. I am nervous you won’t event see this comment🤞you will see this.
Yeah, you can give Wise a try. Friends who got theirs issued in the US said it works just fine.
@@tdrexplorer Thank you. I live in Japan so Ill see if it still work.
It was not like this when I went on Wendsday. I woke up at 4 am stood in line and got in by 8:30. Only ride I could get was frozen at 10:20 am and tangled at 7 pm at night. I didn’t do tangled it was so lóate bcs I wanted to see the water show. I really think this park is all stress and young people adrenaline and energy. It’s like preparing for a marathon to go in. The only times you will get rides you want are during rainy days. People even come after school here and it’s madness. By 9:00 am the only rides available were shows or the submarine ride and everything else was gone even DPA I had to pay for 2 rides to end my night
I've been few times and the experiences have varied each time too. I even went on a Saturday, but I was able to get both DPA and Standby passes for some of the rides I wanted. It is possible, but it's definitely not easy.
All the app stuff stresses me out. I’d honestly prefer to just have traditional lines.
same. I miss paper maps!
I'm right there with you. Would rather just stand in line. Virtual queues are no bueno.
Anna and Elsa better than Pirates Battle for the Sunken Treasure Chris?
disneysea is literal over crowded
i was born in 1990
Cries are going to donkeys kon
Chris, because the apps already recognized you as a Tokyo Disneysea privileged client, that’s why you find it easy to get to a new places in Tokyo Disney area, but for normal client is not easy to get in and long waiting line.
Sadly I am a very picky eater and I do not like Asian cuisine. Are there any American food options at all burgers hot dogs chicken tenders and not a strange version of those? I’m afraid I’ll starve over there
There's burgers, fries, and nuggets are some locations. I recommend getting our guidebook for TDR. I give you food recommendations for different preferences! tdrexplorer.com/books
What a mess..... Gonna be there in September but I will probably skip that spring stuff… So stupid… Stressing… Gonna be at Sheraton and fuck that over expensive package that’s not available anyway.
I am coming early October, do you think crowds for Fantasy Springs maybe down a little by then???
Happy birthday baddie 💋freepalestine 🍉🇵🇸
