I was 14 that year and my Misses to be 9 , both of us from Edinburgh .
Awesome! Times have changed a lot since then!
4:55 and now the Scottish Crown is offered to the Queen
Absolutely beautiful to see this. Thank you. God bless you.
Interesting how the coronation in Scotland does not involve actually wearing the crown and holding the scepter like it does down in London.
The Good Auld Britain 🇬🇧 ❤👑
Elizabeth2 Queen of Scotland and Queen of United Kingdom
HM Queen Elizabeth was not Elizabeth II she was Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain, that title used was and is incorrect

Did Queen Elizabeth, also visit Glasgow in 1952 in her coach???
3:58 -- I'd love to know what color that suit was; that Dior-new-look-style silhouette looked spectacular on her.
Watching this almost 2 mos. of her death. 💔😭
My Mom wasn't born in this year and my GrandMa still single. 😆

Keys to the City ? She already has keys, she has the originals, that those presented her were cut from !

Tradition I guess?

It’s ceremonial display to show the world the power and majesty of the crown.
God bless you Psalm 86
The point of receiving the crown without donning it is unclear to me. Was the ceremony running late and encroaching upon a planned luncheon?
This isn't a coronation. She was already crowned as Queen of the UK etc. in Westminster Abbey, on the stolen Stone of Scone. It'd be fair to say that the service is just a sop to the Scotland. They royals are all about PR for the plebs.
@@dixonpinfold2582 The Queen had already been crowned as monarch of the United Kingdom. The Scottish Crown Jewels predate both the Act of Union 1707 and the personal Union of the Crowns in 1603 when James VI of Scotland became James I of England.
This will now change of course since the placing of said crown on the Queen's coffin indicates an acknowledgement of Scotland's sovereignty (sort of)
@@MrNinjaFish I see. It sounds like she simply couldn't be the Queen of Scotland twice over, which I suppose would either contravene some obscure statute or perhaps just be an absurdity. Thanks for clearing that up.
N'importe quoi coût de battons je l ai aurait reçu
My Queen xx. Camilla is not my Queen only Charles side kick or drinking buddy
The Queen was criticized for looking drab in this ritual which is why Charles was dressed like something out of a pantomime when he took part in the same ceremony in July 2023
