Growing up in Puerto Rico during the 1960s and 70s I didn't know there was a Freddie Prinze or a Geraldo Rivera in american TV until I moved to NYC in 1980.
I first heard of Freddie one day working at this company in midtown Manhattan. A new coworker, a girl by the name of Thursday said I looked like "Chico and the Man". I said, who?.
I didn't know who she was talking about but then I learned she meant I looked like Freddie Prinze.
I mentioned it to my nuyorican wife when I got home and she said it was true. When I saw him I thought they were right.
    RIP Freddie.

I was 15 when he died and too young to realize what a pioneer he was. So ahead of his time. It's a sad feeling you get watching these videos. It's not healthy to live in the past but it's also imperative not to forget it. We need to remember people like Freddie Prinze to inspire and to keep us in check as to how fragile life can be. 🙏🏽🇵🇷🙏🏽

Freddie tapped into what society's hang ups were. He does the trope jokes by circumventing. But, the parody on the tropes is integral. Because that's a big part of American History. So he was intelligent enough to see why they are laughing. But, he said something at the end while talking to Geraldo. He tapped into the problem about America. He talked about the different ethnic groups. White people don't want to hear that truth. But, everything he said was facts. His Chico and The Man now looking at it; was popular because he made people see latinos in another light. He was really strong in how he represented. Rest Easy Freddie. You live on .
