The Best band of the World
FOR EVER !!!!!
My dad got to see Page & Plant in 95. He got to meet them backstage as well. In the early 70s he got to meet Bonham and John Paul Jones in LA when his boss was selling leather studded jackets to the band on his yacht. He got drink some Heineken with them. My dad passed away 10/12/19 from a rare cancer. He always had amazing memories of meeting famous people especially musicians. He also spent a lot of time in Toronto where he met Elton John and saw The Beatles when he was a kid at the old Maple Leaf Gardens. I miss him for his stories and all the experiences he had in his life. At least we got to see some bands before he passed away. The cancer was so rare that they had to do an autopsy just to find out what killed him. Cherish your parents as much as you can. You only get one set really. RIP Dad. Hope your listening to all your music in heaven.
Sounds like he was an amazing man and a very cool dad
All the best mate...Earth Soul Blues RocknRoll...
Music will unite us all.
What a drummer! RIP Michael Lee.
I love how The Wanton Song is one note higher than the Immigrant song so the key change sounds awesome
Exactly, that it raises up a semi tone going into wanton song is a nice effect.
It's actually in "G".
@@pierrelaliberte3964 yeah, one note higher than the Immigrant Song.
Right!! ?? Amazing
@@yragnellaable can I ask you a question what high notes Robert is touching in this performance?
I love how much fun the drummer is having, kicks ass too
THE CADILLAC OF ALL SONGS.
That drummer!!! Bonham would be proud.
Rip to both that kid was throwing down
Awesome song change from immigrant to wanton
Eduardo Torres I always did it on my playlist cos they’re semi tons higher from immigrant to Wanton ( and same hell-structure of course !)
Amazing drummer, fantastic playing and he’s clearly having a great time.
Sadly no longer with us. Michael Lee died in 2008.
I love this song, always have. Michael Bell aka: the walking crystal on the Drums. He uses Zildjian brilliant cymbals, including a Z brilliant crash-ride
Michael Lee ❤
@@BunyanaRed1958 really too bad was wondering who that was he was awesome
@@philiprea8340 He played with The Cult as well Phillip. He suffered an epileptic fit and was found dead in his flat. Great Drummer.
I'm floored, it's unreal to think how this took place in 95. At a time when all the metal bands were changing into grunge.., here's 1half of zep. Doing what they've been since 1967. (Awesome) 🤠😎🥁🤘
They were never a metal band, hard blues rock at most and all they're doing is playing on of their songs from the 70s. No one would have taken a couple of 50 year olds doing grunge seriously anyway.
hell yeah! That drummer did a damn good job....
So glad to see the live footage of my attendance...:)
Such a powerful song, perfectly done
my favorite Zep song!
Love Jimmy's look at the end of the song with the "eye que" to Michael
Was lucky enough to see them do this in Brisbane in '96. It was brilliant but I do wish I could remember it a little more clearly lmao
Thank you for sharing this! So grateful to hear Wanton Song live!
Good drums❤
The drummer is spot on.
They sound amazing with good drumming
Plant had a lot of energy for a man in his late 40s.
You mean for a guy born in the late 40s?
I grew up in Scarborough, north of England. One of the first bands this drummer, Michael Lee was in was the "Little Angels". My father taught some of that band at school. Long story short, I bough my snare drum case and drum kit cases from Michael Lee in about 1992. I still have them, and they still have the stickers on from JFK airport from a tour they did. For me, he was the ultimate replacement for John Bonham. For reasons unknown he never really got the credit he was due for his incredible drumming abilities. It's a Hugh shame he is no longer with us as to see him play with Zeppelin, as I did and with other acts. He was a smiling face of nature on the drum throne.
Thanks for the story, another Yorkshire man to be proud of, used to live in Yorkshire best wishes to you
De acordo. from Brasil
Page and this drummer totally amazing page in total control
Wanton song- immigrant song : one of my fav... this two titanic songs are the parents of hard rock and funk rock 🤘🏿
Clean and sober Jimmy playing it better than he did 20 years earlier on the 1975 tour.
Silent woman in the night, you came
Took my seed from my shaking frame
Same old fire, another flame
And the wheel rolls on
Silent woman through the flames, you come
From the deep behind the sun
Seems my nightmares, have just begun
Left me barely holding on
With blazing eyes you see my trembling hand
When we know the time has come
Lose my senses, lose command
Feel your healing rivers run
Is it every time I fall
That I think this is the one
Oooh, in the darkness can you hear me call
Another day has just begun
Another day
Silent woman, my face is changed
Some know in ways to come
Feel my fire needs a brand new flame
And the wheels rolls on
Rolls on
Rolls on
Rolls on, babe
Rolls
Physical Graffiti was Led Zep's best lp. It's dense rhythms washed away the stale classic rock imitations that were still being played in the mid 1970's and paved the way for punk and post punk to come.
Agree!
My favorite album the funk in it makes for great tunes but I think 2 is their best album start to finish it’s a no skip album if graffiti was a single album with all the best songs on it then it would’ve been a no skip album also
Sort of miss JP Jones on this one specifically.
Not the same without a top BASS player and he is a hell of a great one all in all.
Apparently JPJ said they lost his phone number. They are all great, no doubt.
The bets band of all the time Led Zeppelin forever
Drummer is a damn beast on this track! RIP
ZEP RULES. GREATEST BAND EVER.
Bill Reilly Amen brutha! Greatest band ever...by a LANDSLIDE. Anyone know who this drummer is? Very different feel than Bonham but he ROCKS. I saw plant and page in 1995. I was 18. Totally mesmerized. For some reason though I feel like the O2 arena show they did a few years back was even better than the stuff they did on this tour!
Cheftekar D the drummer’s name is Michael Lee. He was amazing but passed away in 2008 from an epileptic seizure sadly.
bassguitarfan2010 Noooo waaaaay!!!! SO SAD. Thank you for the info. Zeppelin drummers need to stop tragically dying. At least this one didn’t down 40 shots of vodka in an hour 😐
bassguitarfan2010 and are you a bassist? We’re looking for a bass player. Hit me up if you’re in Chicago. Lol! Hard to find good bass players.
Cheftekar D lol! I am a bass player and as much as I love Chicago from afar, I’m in a whole different time zone. Otherwise I’d be there :)
i love plant in this, amazing dancing in the start:)
Jimmy PAGE ,Robert ¨PLANT...,Charly JONES, ...Michael LEE are amazing awesome wonderful to me
Just stunning, Just wonderful! ❤
当時ドラムの叩き方がカッコ良くて好きだった。
今見てもドラムはいいね。
This makes the hair on my arm stand up...damn Jimmy and Robert are electric on this 😎
Drummer R.I.P Michael Lee best
Nailing that Bonham feel better than anyone else that tried to fill in...
@sbrave check out the current drummer for the band "get the led out"
He is out of this world great. Even better than Jason bonham
Page loves this lick.
Just like immigrant song.
And I approve.
Thanks for50 yrs.
wow page really nailed that solo. he must have been in a good mood. the drummer is so tight!!!
I was at the meadowlands for 3 of these shows! Just awesome!!!
The brilliant drummer is Michael Pearson.
He played with The Cult and Ian Gillan. He passed in 08.
R.I.P
wow. I can see why they picked him. he hammers!
Michael Lee
Saw this tour live in 95 at the old Capital Center in Landover MD. Great show.
saw this concert in 95 in OC CA... this was my fave song up until encore Kashmir
This brought back some memories. I saw this tour at the Gorge Amphitheater in George, Washington with one of my best friends who sadly passed away sometime after this show.
Michael Lee steals the show
Amazing. Glad I saw them on this tour.
Michael Lee was a sweet guy. Much missed.
Very cool....Immigrrant song into wanton...
OMG that was SICK!
The sound is f'n explosive!
What a fantastic intro by an Oum Kalthoum Classic !!!!!!
Legends!
Saw them in October '95 and had a crapton of bootleg tapes (yes, tapes) from this tour. The remarkable thing is that Plant's voice seemed to get better and better as the tour went on. By the last leg, he was singing most of the songs with the original melody in the original key.
saw them there in 98, amazing show. I always liked the wanton song but jimmy's live version of it blows away the album version. They also did how many more times and Jimmy broke out the bow, amazing. Roberts voice wasn't the same but on the whole the show blew me away. Far exceeded expectations.
How do you explain visually a Rock Drummer? Show videos of Michael Lee in the 90's with Page and Plant.....nuff said.....
The drummer is a good as Bonzo. My great compliments to him (Y)
Awesome 👍👍 Good drums !!!
para mi gran amigo desde la infancia hasta el cielo o donde te encuentres te dedico esta rolita que tanto nos gusto Saul Fontes
Michael Lee fantastic drummer.
They always mix with egyptian music its amazing
I heard Peter Grant was at this show just four months before his death. They paid tribute to him during the show.
こんなのあったんだ!この曲めちゃめちゃカッコよくて好きなんだよな~
しかし喉がツラそうやね
HEY 🥰 WOW DA DRUMMER!!! WOW HIT THEM HARD!! THEY DONT HIT BACK!!!!!🙃🙃
RIP Michael Lee
Just awesome
No one makes music like that anymore. What a shame.
I love Jason Bonham, but Page/Plant with Michael Lee on drums is the closest they ever came to Zeppelin level greatness
I would have to agree... this kid was awesome
That was kinda just really fucking good
2:17 At this point my wig flew over to the bermudas.
Amazing Drumer
Those drums needed a cigarette after that one! Then filed suit for assault and battery! Lol
I remember once when i had to choose between seeing Van Halen and Led Zeppelin. I chose Zep, and I"m glad.
Van Halen is a master guitarist, but he did not write music like Jimmy Page did. I did also see Van Halen before. I loved 'em, but not like Led Zeppelin.
They didnt steal music like led zeppelin either😂 page is the man though.
EVH was a different kind of musician. He was a good guitarist, but not very original. He also couldn't play the blues like Page could (only Hendrix and Clapton have him matched in that regard, IMO). But he was a very good keyboardist, and Page probably couldn't play the keyboards.
John Mullen Zeppelin has stated time and time again that they were so fed up with critics at the time because everybody accused them of stealing music but nobody understood what they were trying to do. What they were trying to do was revolutionize rock n roll. Should they have given credit? Perhaps, however that was their exact point. They wanted to take rock that already existed and turn it into rock and roll fixed with blues folk tunes and an acoustic sound. They wanted to make something unlike anything anybody had ever heard before. This angered critics in the 70s because they didn’t understand but they’ve said this time and time again. It was meant to be a sort of “stick it to the man” type of move. Also they have plenty of originals too. I do agree with you on the Jimmy is the man part of your argument. Zeppelin rocks. Also comparing Van Halen and Led Zeppelin is like comparing apples to oranges though for many reasons
Ngl thats a pretty hard question
Also dont mind the profile pic
Was Eddie Van Halen not original? He changed everything with Van Halen’s first album. He was as original as it gets and probably the most influential rock guitarist behind chuck berry and Hendrix. What Eddie Van Halen did was totally new for its time.
as good as the 1975 led zeppelin live versions i was there 4 times 1995 1998
Awesome
Song starts at 2:18
My favorite Zep song!
.. but at a slight struggle //.. imagine trying to sing like the younger stronger you... its tough man~
Michael Lee was amazing.
I was at this show. Amazing night & seeing it now makes me feel very old lol
The same here. I didn't know this footage existed.
just like jimmy page
Ouch, Plant cracking on some of the notes 😐 Page is perfection
Sadly this great drummer on this video died thirteen years after this performance. RIP Michael Lee. Sorry, but to me Michael was a better drummer than Jason (John Bonham's son). Although if you all want to hear the best Jason has ever played drums look up on CZcams two songs from Jason's former group called Bonham. The songs are Wait For You and the song Guilty. Jason played the hell out of those two songs and the songs even sounded like Led Zeppelin.
Much better drummer than Jason, definitely 👍
2:20 I don't think I've ever seen Robert Plant spaz out like that before. Pretty funny.
The wonton soup! 🤣🤣
so much hair... fantastic.
fuck yes
Led Zeppelin oto patamar sensacional
Great change up! PSYCH!!!
That is so fucking good
Where is John Paul jones
Immigrant Song and The Wanton Song both have basically the same guitar chords.
Starts at 2:18
Song starts @2:18
You're welcome.
PORL! ❤
...AUSGEZEICHNET!!!!!!!
Michael Lee could’ve been a great drummer for a zeppelin tour, I’ll never understand why JPJ wasn’t in on this. Maybe they didn’t want to pay him and just opted for a cheaper bass and guitar player
led zeppelin era de um jeito nos anos 60 e 70,depois ficou meio estranho.
💜🙏🏼👁🔥☀️
Damn…. Is that a parade snare drum ?
JPJ is the only thing missing from this. Would love to know the true story behind why he wasn't a part of all this.
With all three ex-members the press would have called it a Zep reunion and Plant wanted to avoid that
