Would love to see a pull like that with an emphasis on the amount of Exp gained on the Alt. Seeing the exp of the alt blow up when the enormous pull was complete would be amazing.
Force reactive disk sounds fairly expensive for farming. Argent Defender with a shield spike should be the discount option or just use the skullflame should be enough. The 50% block chance of argent defender are perma online with 20+ mobs hitting you and the shield spike + BoS does the rest.
Yeah I have some, honestly it doesn't proc enough in my opinion. It's kind of costly to make 1g for every 10mins of use. When it DOES proc it does do decent damage though for sure.
I can't imagine this being gold efficent necessarily (esp. not compared to jump runs) but it is an incredibly cool concept and the potential for trivialising the earlier levels by being boosted by a pala that just demolishes 80% of a dungeon in one swoop leaves me somewhat envious. Nah this is by no means like AMAZING gp/h anywhere imo (I mean you do get quite a bit at SM honestly, but still no where compared to other gold farms) This is more useful in this case for simply boosting alts like you said. It's very nice to get the exp so rapidly.
From my experience, stacking pure spell power gear increases my sustainability due to the lifesteal, over defense for avoidance. I try get high armour pieces with spell power(atleast mail) to increase my healing generated from the shield and demonforged breastplate. I'd also recommended getting the lifesteal axe from BRD The Seven, as it scales 1:1 with spell damage also. Because I'm purely spellpower, I find that I don't need force reactive disc to kill them quick as the lifesteal affects sustain me. Edit: from my testing, force of will does not stack with blessing of sanctuary, so I don't even use force of will for some pulling. Until I get essence of pure flame I use Briarwood Reed for spell damage. ALSO, Skullflame shield lifesteal doesn't proc unless you are able to block, afaik. So I recommend strafing. Edit2: it's debatable whether you want a high spell power weapon or the lifesteal weapon from BRD for extra lifesteal. Imo if you are swinging at the mobs as you pull, it is better to use the axe, otherwise aurastone hammer from Garr or Azuresong Mageblade(if you ever get that as a paladin) if you just run through the adds. Then stick a 30 spellpower enchant on it.

Just started yesterday farming this dung as a paladin 25/26/0, got skullflame shield and some def items from brd, no raid items. Takes for me about 3 big pulls i think. Selling trash and all the greens/blues from bosses and trash mobs gives around 5-7 gold per run. But when it drops some good twink items, it makes me happy :D Iv'e done about 10 runs maybe, got 5 blue boe from trash mobs. Its a pretty easy way to farm, so i would recommend it for paladins, no need to get the good gear for those runs.
You can definitely pull like that as a mage, because of ice armor. The mobs will only get 1 hit on you before being slowed. If a big pack catches up you can always rank1 nova or cone. At the end of the pull you refresh ice barrier and use mana shield if necessary then iceblock and wait for the mobs to gather. Leave iceblock and nova all the mobs then instantly cone of cold. The silence can screw you over so you may want to kill the Wailing Guardsmen as you run by. You can use "/tar Wailing Guardsman" macro to spot them easily.
I would have loved to have seen how much damage the force reactive disk took during that fight. Is it so bad you need to repair basically after every major pull like this?
seen people sell stockades boosts for 3g per person per run.. seem they fill fast too because its sw and all so any alt of a 60 just happens to be there theyll be well up for joining 12g a run and you can easy hit reset limit with this gear on a pally, fucking 60g an hour right there :D

Hey, Mmrrggll. I know Uther's Strenght is a great trinket for surviving but I just noticed the other day that while the shield is up, you dont do any reflective damage. That in mind I like to go for a trinket with more damage or something. Unless you need the Uther's for surviving the big pulls ofc.
I do this and I also do lashers with it and I did 5 lasher clears and force of will did not proc a single time. Members of my guild report similar results.
I rlly like paladins and i enjoy all aspects of him (dps heal and tank) but thanks to being in a PvP server with my friends/guild i had to choose horde. Id love to do this but leveling a character in a new fresh server with no gold/help at all and then having to farm tons of gold to put up the pieces just makes me want to kms, i dont enjoy leveling as much, maybe in TBC i can play a pally :(
I feel like you're losing out using this build, by using Essence of the Pure Flame, since this method is structured around blocking (due to your high avoidance + redoubt), proccing your FRD, you can completely forego ret aura, Essence, replace the latter with an Onyxia Blood Talisman for better avoidance stats, also when you are grouping your mobs at the end of that corridor, I suggest you equip an Argent Defender and wait for it to proc before equipping FRD for the +50% block chance buff. The reason for this, is because "On struck effects" (like ret aura, essence, skullflame, uthers etc etc) do not trigger when blocking, dodging or parrying.
for sure FRD is nice shield but i got voth also skull flame and FRD but i feel like skullflame is just better for this kind of farming sibce repair costs on shield stack up quite high on FRD in a long run
How much can you make farming a twink dungeon vs the cost of repairs? Seems like you'd need someone wanting to twink out their alt contributing at least the amount of lost gold from you not rolling on items they need plus your repairs. This seems like something I'll do post bg implementation, until then I'll be farming gold on my mage to get an alt capable of such effortless dungeon grinding.
is it possible to mob tag level in classic? as in, you pull a bunch of mobs without causing any damage to them at all during the pull, then your alt leaves the party, spams aoe into the mob group to tag all of the mobs and you essentially finish them off? used to be a thing back then, I'm curious if that is still working
It's about enjoying the build, this is just one utility for it. He mentions tanking dungeons as well, which is very nice. Also it's just awesome having an AOE paladin like this.
How massive is the talent tree in terms of effectiveness? I play Ret paladin (11-8-32) but bought some stuff to be able to lasher farm. I'm obviously not as effective as most as I'm missing some gear and stuff but I can now kill one pack w/o having to pot/bubble at all so that's nice. If I kept a full ret build but with your gear. Do you reckon I could do, say, half the pull you do at a time?
The thing is. Using Blessing of Sanctuary definitely helps reduce the damage you take greatly. Especially in lower level dungeons because of the effect. You could still pull pretty large with a full ret build though. You'd have to get a feel for it though because you'll take a bit more damage than I would.

You're also forgetting as ret you wont have holy shield or redoubt, and probably not a shield with a shield spike, which is the entire reason a paladin can do this. Just go prot.

@@Volcomstone69x SFK, just the one. Stockades both single and full. The xp varies by maybe 10% of total xp from a single to full group, I haven't done much testing in full groups tho so I'm unsure.
Bombs are nice but they are only a minor damage source compared to consecration and the like. But you need engineering 300 for the force reactive disk.
My prot pala has herbalism and skinning, just to make money, so later on I can drop one a chose Engineering. If you play serious, you need this profession.
Would be better if u went in a lvl 20 dungeon... try cath or something, seems like over kill of gear for a lvl 20 dung any 60 and solo at the same speed

ive been boosting SM cath for groups that have atleast 1 mage to slow the mobs can do it in 3pulls if they also bring any class that has spme sort of healing
Absolutely doable with enough gear and setup. A fury/prot warrior can basically pull the entire dungeon without taking any damage due to piercing howl being able to keep the mobs from hitting you while doing the pulls, and you could do the damage with reflect damage gear and buffs, there are tons in vanilla
@@Mmrrggll cloak of flames and, girdle of reprisal are also two items with reflect btw, freezing band can also be considered but might screw up the pulls also ramstein's lightning bolt trinket for some burst low lvl dungs
@@thefilth7368 you are kidding right? 25 agi gives dodge and crit, strength gives ap, stam gives you more hp so you can tank more, int gives you more mana so you can cast more, spirit increases mana regen, its an amazing trinket especially in aoe situations...

Yeah there's a ton of reflective gear that I could improve on. I mostly just use a basic setup because I use it to tank high level dungeons too. It's really effective, probably the best dungeon tank of any tbh.
Lesser absorption (25) is the best chest enchant for aoe pulling, yes. Also because the amount of mobs hitting you, if mobs hit you at the same time they can all be absorbed. 10 mobs hit me at the same time with 10/25 of the absorb left, you will notice they will all get absorbed for 10 damage!
Smh.. If you didnt hear in the video he said "mages cannot do this pull" which I know for a fact one can without full pre-bis/farm set. Done it myself.

easily obtainable alternative is the flurry axe - gonna get a lot more seal procs with it, if you're using light that means you can survive easier

Emp trink is prob better because when you have absorbs you can't proc a lot of things like demon forged breastplate skullflame or ret aura

You would be better off using a lower speed class as you'll hit instance cap and saving the thousands of gold

Scarlet monastery cath and armory is feasible, it just required healers and more aoe damage. So typically I run with a full group that can assist me

Maybe two major pulls. 1st being everything outside the cathedral and then everything insude.
Yeah as Jaime said, I doubt even this could survive a singular pull. PLUS there's a LOT of healers which would be rather annoying.

A fury/prot warrior can basically pull the entire dungeon without taking any damage due to piercing howl being able to keep the mobs from hitting you while doing the pulls, and you could do the damage with reflect damage gear and buffs, there are tons in vanilla
@@Mmrrggll cloak of flames and, girdle of reprisal are also two items with reflect btw, freezing band can also be considered but might screw up the pulls also ramstein's lightning bolt trinket for some burst low lvl dungs

@@thefilth7368 you are kidding right? 25 agi gives dodge and crit, strength gives ap, stam gives you more hp so you can tank more, int gives you more mana so you can cast more, spirit increases mana regen, its an amazing trinket especially in aoe situations...

Yeah there's a ton of reflective gear that I could improve on. I mostly just use a basic setup because I use it to tank high level dungeons too. It's really effective, probably the best dungeon tank of any tbh.

Lesser absorption (25) is the best chest enchant for aoe pulling, yes. Also because the amount of mobs hitting you, if mobs hit you at the same time they can all be absorbed. 10 mobs hit me at the same time with 10/25 of the absorb left, you will notice they will all get absorbed for 10 damage!

A mage can do much better pulls with ice barrier mana shield blink and Ice block lol. x2 faster clear also what u talking about :D

Was a pug for both. I got a lot of hate whispers from other casters and booted from my guild as I didn’t give it to the guild leaders best buddy.
