There's nothing more satisfying than bringing back a Tacoma with thorough cleaning. Who needs therapy when you can watch this.
This was a hilux from the 80s.......
I started out detailing cars for a collision repair shop when I was 17, then started doing body work and became a painter helper. I got tired of that so now I'm a mechanic. To be completely honest with you the most difficult job out of those was the detailing position. People don't understand how meticulous and detail oriented cleaning a vehicle really is. You do some great work man!
You know I thought the same thing, because when it comes down to it, each one of use has a little OCD cleaning inspector inside us. I know I do,. There, I said it. 😂😂
Yeah, agreed, it can take a lot of time and most don't really understand unless they've done it themselves. It's amazing how much work there is to do to really clean & detail a vehicle well.
Detailed cleaning and my spirit are not compatible, I despise detail work for the shallow minded
The Marty McFly truck! Wish I had one in that good of shape.
I was watching this and thought the same thing
🙋🏻♂️And Chuck Norris's Truck 👍🏻
Just buy one...
@@moho1404 yes let me just take out my fat stack of cash that I always have oh wait....
@@icyicy1940 just buy one mate...
Taco Bell sauce from 1994 “quite a bit older than I am”...at this point, I died a little inside.
Lol right? When someone told me there’s people who have graduated high school right now who were born in 2002 it makes me feel old as fuck.
I did too! I thought, “that’s baby sauce!” 😂😂
alibobo baba I’m in college and I was born in 03 lol
Me too! Lol
Yeah, there are people at work that are younger than my cell phone account. I was only a year away from being old enough enough to drive this truck brand new. Where did the years go, lol.
“Check out that 4X4!” Marty Mcfly Back to the Future 😂
My first thought when i saw the thumbnail😂
Biff's Detailing
Thats why i came to watch it 🤣🤣🤣
lol, I immediately thought of this when I saw it.
czcams.com/video/lLycIYup764/video.html&feature=emb_logo
Marty's a real 84-85 straight axle.. This one is Def a 86..
This channel has REAL details. Abused and abandoned vehicles, made to look new again. Not a brand new 2021 Porsche with a few swirls from the factory
This ⬆️
Well honestly that's a lot of the detailing market. Fancy/fancier cars of people who want it to look brand spanking new. Most of my customers are just like that, so that's what's going to be featured on youtube for the most part. You can't exactly ask detailers to turn their customers away because their cars aren't too dirty, and they need dirtier cars for their youtube videos.
A true therapist for an abused and abandoned vehicle
Yep. I can’t stand when detailing businesses or dudes show only pictures of the brand new vehicles after a quick buff like they removed years of sun damage and scratches.
@@alibobobaba1337 to be honest, as I actually do this... People with old cars aren't trying to pay that kind of money to have their car done. It's not like okay I'll do your moldy truck inside and out for $200. What he did here would run you at the absolute minimum $700, again ABSOLUTE MINIMUM (if he charged less than that he's ripping himself off).
The only reason you see old cars like this is if some old guy is gonna work on it. Or, slightly older cars that parents pay for so their kid can have a nice old car.
What I liked about these 85 Toyota's, Is they shifted like butter and were so easy to drive. I am 59 years old so I would know I was a very young man when they came out. very nice little toy.
I'm 59 too. And I have this EXACT truck.
Bought it new in '86. 🙂
My dad has a 76 that hes been working on for the last couple of years. I showed him this video and he's even more excited to get his Hilux done!! Kudos to you sir. To anybody that's thinking a 30+ year old truck thats been neglected is supposed to be a gem after detailing, you're nuts. This guy went way beyond what many of us who just wash and vacuum our cars would do or even think of to make this truck look good. Once again kudos to you. You can detail my vehicles anytime!!
And built much better and quality control than a modern vehicle especially an older Toyota. Toyota over built these things to last, well forever.
as an owner of a 88 4runner daily driver you made this ol gal look incredible thank you for helping to save another of these getting rare old trucks
These old Toyota trucks are so cool take care of your 4runner!
Once again man, you bring a vehicle back to life. Love the 80s truck rocking 80s accessories. If I were to restore it, I paint it the exact same way , graphics and all, and restore all the accessories. Great video, can’t wait for the next one 💯👍🏼
These old Toyotas are the definition of bulletproof Japanese engineering and fifth gear proves that very well with what they did to their Hilux
5:46-VW Caddy pickup in the background.. Was my first car, love ‘em!
Awesome detail of a true classic! Brought it back to the future;-)
I see what you did there 😉
I’d love to have seen the engine bay being cleaned.
Yea a shame that
Yes me too!!
22R the best ever
@@charliematthel6441 I miss my 85 long bed. It was a great truck. My bed was rusted really bad. A bed liner would of been nice!
I still have a 1987 1tone the best ..
He went OFF on this detail. Fantastic
Especially on that rust. Krylon spray paint...BAM!...Goodbye rust forever lol
@@Titans2138 I really don't understand why you have to be so negative on rust it wasn't a repaired video some else is doing it he said so on the video 😐 he took care of it just in case the guy leave it again for a few years but the guy with cats is talking about rust repair the only rust you be fixing is the rust is in your toilet you leave this great man alone and go bother someone ✌️
Welcome back to the video guys fair warning the audio isn’t exactly the best I’ve been having issues with my mic and it’s next to impossible to replace it right now since they’re sold out of almost everything everywhere hope you guys still enjoy the video
The one reason I haven’t subscribed to your channel is because these videos are missing one huge thing to me..... the customers response/reaction. I’m subscribed to one other detailer on CZcams, and my favorite part is the response from the customer. Love seeing their responses!
I don’t understand how watching a moldy exterior get pressure washed be so satisfying.
All things considered it’s in phenomenal shape for a 1985! I owned a Red one and it rusted away...
Most underrated detailer
Absolutely
Your damn right
yes!!!
AGREE!!!
By the way is this truck for sale lol
Wow, the really dirty car was cleaned up well. I'm doing the details in Korea. Your video is helping a lot. I ask for good videos from now on.
As a painter I personally hated the way you painted over rust and didn’t tape anything off. Over spray clean up can cause lots of issues. But I am glad your detail oriented and explained yourself! So people can beware. At the end of the day looked good
When the detail work cost more than the car itself . Love your videos...keep going and God bless you.
Your before and after are the craziest on CZcams. That engine bay was ridiculous! Wow
I can't see the enginebay🤣
OMG FINALLY AN OLDSCHOOL TOYOTA PICKUP DETAILING VIDEO, MY FAVORITE VEHICLE OF ALL TIME, MAD RESPECT TO THIS GUY.
Dang an 85 fuel injected yota that’s like finding gold!
Why is it like finding gold?
Aren't there still a lot of these around?
I own this EXACT truck (bought it new in '86).
@@HeartTurnedToStone 85 was the last year of solid axle and the only year where the truck had the option of both solid axle and efi
@@deetusyeletus
A friend of mine was told me about the solid axle. Said it's really in demand by people that build "Rock Climbers".
Was surprised I still owed my Toy (remembered when I bought it & when I went off a 20' cliff, landing on my roof in '92).
Shocked it hadn't been stolen yet (because the solid axle is so in demand).
Ever since he told me that, I now park my other 4 vehicles in front of it so it's impossible to get off my property.
It was concealed by a hedge that I took out 2 years ago. Despite living on a circle with no thru-way in a very quiet retirement community 15 miles from town, I get 1-4 complete strangers a month knocking on my door to ask if I'll sell it.
I put a big NFS sign on it but my Homeowners Association made me take it down.
I'll have that truck til I die.
p. s. Fun Fact:
If you have a Pioneer Stereo installed in your Toyota 4x4, the CD player will continue to play without skipping a beat. Even when you're upside down...
My first truck. 1985 Toyota 4x4. Single cab, 22r, carburetor. Long bed. Love that truck. Takes me back to my high school days!
Beautiful, probably one of the most relaxing videos around restoring this legend
Respect to you and the countless hours you put in on this project- great job man!!
By far my favorite truck!!! You cannot beat those 80s and 90s toyotas!! Basic as it gets, but so reliable!!
I've had 121 vehicles since I was 16 and have done a lot of detail work over the years myself. I think the most satisfying bit about these videos is your attention to detail. These are all very satisfying to watch. :)
Im waiting u everyday, everytime...
Great Job! Considering The Condition The Vehicle Is In, It looks really good!!!
That's absolutely beautiful. I've always dreamed of finding an older Toyota in a barn or something I could restore. These vehicles are absolutely beautiful
MR MAD DETAILS...I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS IT RELAX ME AND MAKE ME WANT TO BE A BETTER ME.IN THE CLEANING DEPARTMENT..BLESSINGS UPON BLESSINGS.
I’m glad I found your channel. You’ve detailed two of my favorite trucks. This Toyota pickup truck and the Ford SVT lightning
These have been my favorite Toyota's since Back to the Future.
That was bloody hard work. Amazing. ❤️
The difference is night and day! That's a come up. That truck is a workhorse, take care of it and it'll take care of you. Amazing job!
Amazing transformation!
This was so pleasing to watch! Being a huge toyota pickup fan and watching this come back to life was awesome! Nice work man!
I’d just returned from Lebanon in 1984, post Marine Barracks attack tour....I wanted a 4x4 and one of my troops swore by Toyota. I went down to Colonial Toyota in Virginia Beach and ordered an 1985 SR5 Mirage Edition....in darker grey. My favorite vehicle of all time, if nothing else for the memories. I put 450k on the clock-even rebuilding it after rolling at the beach in Sandbridge-rust cancer finally took its toll, but I still was able to sell it to a young Sailor who wanted to rebuild it as a surf-fishing rig. I’m 66 now, retired, and drive a 2020 Tacoma that I specced out as close as I could to my ‘85, with manual tranny, sunroof, buckets (and now considering an after market bed roll bar!!). While I love this truck, I doubt I’ll be around long enough to build the same memories with this truck as I did my ‘85. Watching this brought back those memories...and I’d like to think that my ‘85 is still out there crossing the dunes, chasing stripers and bluefish, and building memories. Thank you so much for this video...Bravo-Zulu, young man....well done!!
I'd love to own this beautiful pickup... I had one in high school and have always regretted selling it.... these trucks with the 22r motor are the most reliable trucks even till this day...
Love the long detailed Videos you killed it bro Marty Mcfly would be proud and Doc
Cleaning all that mess had to at least give that truck some extra HP lol. Hella messy.
Dude you are amazing, my favorite part of the detail was when you brought the interior of the doors back to life.
Just amazing! Inside, out, engine! ❤️
Excellent! That will make a great little truck so long as the frame isn’t rusted out. Awesome detail bro!!!
Frame is really solid surprisingly
I've watched a lot of detailing videos and this video is by far the best process and detailing I've seen yet. Better than Wilson Detailing.
You must have never heard of AMMO NYC
This is a good basic detailing video and informative for sure. However AMMO NYC is by far the best detailer ever
Favorite part was when you power sprayed the bed and the paint looked near perfect shape. Most satisfying was the little details, like the knob on the window crank and the pen sleeve on the visor. Love seeing old things made new and love Toyotas so this video was awesome to watch. Best detail I've seen yet!
The transformation is incredible !! Thank you for sharing !!
22-R. One of the best 4 bangers ever made.
I own 2 wouldn't drive anything else but a Toyota 22re.
I want a truck just like this. Ever since Back To The Future.
Such a beautiful truck, thank you for saving this one
I love the look on clean and detailed retro vehicles and devices.
I have a pair of 80s Technics 1200 turntables and I keep them in pristine conditions and they work great!
Im about to detail my wife's truck and here it goes to a few hours of labor..
This kid really does a killer job on these vehicles...plus he uses the right tools at the right time.
Great job! Did he remember to paint the wiper arms? Steel wool and acid on the wheels could’ve got more of the rust off, but I liked how he touched them up! Looks great!
Erik Ross I actually Used acid straight non-diluted with a green Scotch-Brite and sti used acid straight non-diluted with a green Scotch-Brite When I took a closer look at the surface rust was removed but the chrome itself start peeling off of the rim
@@maddetails I like to use tinfoil on mine. Really works that rust off without peeling any chrime
I would’ve never thought watching your videos could be so relaxing 😌
That looks so good even with those imperfection on the paint
After the cleaning, i realised how dirty my screen is actually...Kudos for this amazing transformation
Sir, I must admit, this is one of the best details of a vehicle I've ever seen!!!! Congratulations on being so professional and documenting this so others can see and learn. You sure did fill my head with ideas. Granted, I don't have all the nice detail tools you have but, I do have cleaners and lots of "elbow grease" if needed. :) A+++
I highly appreciate it and you know the fancy tools are nice and make things go alittle quicker but as long as you have the right products and willing to invest more time you can achieve just as good of a result
@@maddetails This video was so awesome I subscribed!! Also, this Toyota Truck is one of my most favorite models! So, it was extra special. Again, really great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great Job nice truck! I would just keep it like you have it, and drive it forever.
Great job guys! These older Toyota trucks are awesome, and the simplicity of these trucks are great
It's great to see a guy use his OCD to his advantage. Me too, but to a lesser extent.
Doing a good job doesn’t mean you have a mental disorder.
I don't really know how I ended up watching someone washing a car 3am in the morning 😂
Here, were all the same 🤣
This guy is the best detailer I've ever seen. Man he brought this truck back to life
Finally a true detailer. I worked in a detail shop as a kid for a used car lot and you are the only person I have seen use some of the tricks learned by the old school guys. Acid when used correctly is amazing, but not recommended for everyone to use.
You deserve more subs man keep it up!
You seriously worked so hard on this truck. It looks freaking amazing!
What a Cream Puff! I remember back in '85 when Toyota offered that truck for sale, I was 20 then. THIS particular truck has not only held its' value, but it has gained value. I don't know what its' sticker price was then, but today it would fetch upwards of $8500.00 or more. It has not been molested and torn apart. It is still as it was from the factory. Job well done on the detail.
Dude the foam cannon is so satisfying i detailed 2 vehicles today and i loved it ive always liked using the foam cannon It's my favorite part of the process hands down
This truck is in pretty good condition, how many years was it sitting for?
Awesome work by the way, you instantly quadrupled the value of this lovely old Toyota
4 years
Gotta wear a mask around that mold, bro. Great job btw!
Mind your business lady.
After watching this i went on to craigslist to find one of this toyotas, NICE video way to keep this classic alive.
Can’t believe how good that truck looked. Wow 😯
Enjoyed that mate did a great job. I was looking forward to the wheels being done but you sprayed them black 😩. That ute needs chrome. But its amazing how new it looks after a detail 👌🏻
Adam Clarke I agree the on the wheels but they weren’t savable half the chrome was peeling off
MAD DETAILS yeah understand hopefully the owner puts a new set on as these model Hilux’s are getting hard to find. Don’t see any on the road in Australia anymore.
@@maddetails did you ask the owner before you painted the wheels and rust? Also seen you went over the white tire lettering.
At least it won’t need one of those pine tree scent air fresheners!!!😁
After viewing the entire video comment, wow that's some great detail work. Talk about some tremendous before and after difference, great work, it was therapudic to watch.
Wow cannot believe the good shape under all that dirt amazed looking real good
“McFly”!!
How long did this detail take you to do? I'm most impressed by the engine bay.. why didn't you record cleaning out the engine bay? what did you use to clean it out with?
Great job again, OUTSTANDING
Excellent job. Don't let anyone tell you different. The way you went the extra mile in some areas (silver paint for body, black paint for rims) made all the difference. Again...excellent job. 👍
WOW.....you just bumped someone out of my top three Detailers .....It's now Detail Geek / Stauffer Garage and now you 👍😵🤜👊🤛 keep up up that amazing work young man. !!!!
Damn good lineup
Proceeds to spray paint tires and rims LOL
It looks fine
Amazing deep cleaning great great great job thanks you !!!!!
This is my favorite truck and now my favorite detail vid! Thanks!
Please wear a mask when cleaning/steaming the interior. The steam is flying all over your face in the interior area 🤷🏼♂️
Mind your own business lady.
Here before the inevitable 1 Million.. By the way... I watched the entire video..
My Ads appreciate it
Thats pretty much the most sought after year for any toyota 4x4. Last year (in US market) for solid axle front suspension and first year for EFI. Power windows seems to be the only top option missing, which is extremely rare.
I'm graduated from high school back in 1989. A couple of my buddies had these pickups. One had an 85 and the other had an 86. The good news is that it's a Toyota and those things are super reliable.
"I have bad OCD"
Doesn't mask off anything while painting the wheels
What’s the worst he gets black paint on the black wheels he can wipe it while it’s wet and I have ocd as well
Only when needed man got to learn to fight your battles specially with product like that lol
Robert Gonzalez lol
FLAMEING5DRAGON Games you must have never spray painted anything haha. Overspray will get all over your paint like that
That’s not how OCD works.
You obsess over somethings not everything all the time
Man you could of at least tried to sand down some of the rust or however that works before you paint over it
Just paint the rims black
I’m not going to lie you’re videos they help me sleep, I love the content and when I go to sleep I have to rewatch it.
Dang you weren't kidding when you mentioned the condition of the body. That is in really good condition for what it is and is like a "gem in the rough" type situation. You've got yourself a really nice truck! Great work on this thing it was really cool to see 👍👍
All you need now is Biff Tanner to give it a second coat of wax!!!!
Not going to lie i feel like every 80's toyota is just a mess. When i bought my 87 it was just like this a forgotten trunk. lmao
Love those older Toyota trucks!!
How very satisfying that was to watch that truck get cleaned.
Someone get this guy on a 'using an aerosol can responsibly' course. Trigger happy or what. . .
He used a ton of pump up sprayers. Other than the paint cans and tire spray
Painted so he can sell with “No rust” title on listing.
Even tho he just hid all that bad rust and it is going to kill the truck.
He’s not doing a body shop video. he’s doing a detailer video!
He did state in the video that it was for purely cosmetic purposes only and not a long term solution. I believe he also mentioned that the truck would be taken by the owner and subject to work at a body shop to resolve the deeper issues. It’s important to listen to the commentary folks 🙂
That shit was sweet to watch. I'm stealing all these tips and techniques.
@@benjaminbarker4808 nah friend, that truck was a doomed vehicle before. This way it looks worth the investment to do the repairs instead of leaving it in a field.
Phenomenal transformation! 👍👍
You bought this classic back to life. Good job, worth it and well done!
