- In this week’s episode we discuss Artur Beterbiev’s dominating performance over Callum Smith. With the ongoing dominance from both Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol is it time to finally see that matchup? How does it play out?
People still don't understand Beterbiev. He's just as good at boxing as Bivol but because he has so much power he doesn't get to display it. But he did in the Joe Smith fight when he fought of the back foot and hurt Smith as he was coming forward. Also you can't stay still anywhere in the ring (especially on the ropes) when you fight Beterbiev. You have to train to stick and move around the entire ring like Ali for 12 rds. Bivol doesn't fight that way.... he bounces in and out using a lot of energy but stays in range of Beterbiev's power.

Artur can box, but is not even close to Bivol. Look at the Gvozdyk fight where Artur was behind on the scorecards when he finished him. From that fight you can predict how the Bivol fight would go, because Bivol is levels above Gvozdyk. I have Bivol by UD and it won't be close. After it's over it will look something like Hopkins vs Trinidad, where the pure boxer completely dominates the puncher. And yes, Artur is not just a puncher, he's a boxer/puncher, but Bivol is something else.
@@matangox Artur was behind on points but ahead on pain… real pain. Bivol is not levels above Gvozdyk. Bivol doesn’t present that “something else” that Artur hasn’t seen before with his Russian boxing background. Bivol won’t be able to allow Beterbiev to hit him on the arms and body like he did with Canelo cause even the glancing blows are painful. In order for Bivol to avoid that pain he has to move like he’s never moved before for 12 rds. But like most, once that pain starts getting to him his instinct to stand and fight for survival will kick in and the rest is par for the course.
He’s better than bivol and you’ll see it when they fight.
Beterbiev is also skilled. Beterbiev ammaeteur record is 295/5 bivol ammaeteur record 268/15

Beterbiev has actually lived in Canada since 2013! He moved to Montreal, Quebec, Canada to start his professional career. He is now a Canadian citizen after living in the country for several years.
When Beterbiev finishes his career, he will go home to live because he does not intend to live in LGBT Canada

You don't score 2 knock downs against Usyk in just 6 rounds without having some mad skills. You also don't score 3 belts and go 20 and 0 with 20 KO's without crazy mad skill. When you have a 5" or more reach disadvantage against Callum Smith and STILL win the jab war..... you have MAD SKILLS.

Canelo doesn’t cut the ring off. He just walks them down. Beterbiev cuts the ring off with efficiency.
Bivol won’t be able to move like he did vs canelo. Even if he does Beterbiev cutting off the ring he will constantly have bivol face to face and close to the ropes

Guys trust me Beterbiev is way more silled than you give him credit for .Watch his sparring sessions and foot movement when he works out . Unlike Wilder who has only a hard right hand Beterbiev is a complete fighter.
Durability is an x factor not being talked about, not convinced Bivol can take Beterbievs punishing pace and style. He doesn’t have to land clean to hurt you.

@@tdxc6338well I will give you a similar example. Fury has been dropped by some average fighter but Wilder was never dropped till Fury fight. Even Luis Ortiz didn’t drop Wilder. He just buzzed him a bit. Same with Bud. Bud wobbled by Gamboa, dropped by mean machine. But Spence was never dropped before Bud fight. You can see how those fights unfolded

It’s all been blocked with great defence and ring generalship. He does not get hit clean it’s proven with stats. Joe Smith was his fault cause he knew the bell was coming and dropped his guard, I promise you he won’t do that ever again. Guys, you all have to stop the bias against European fighters. Inoue is great but he beat an average Fulton and Tapales and you out him p4p. Beterbiev and Bivol are gold standard of boxing and winner should be p4p 1. Artur could easily get a belt at CW. Likewise Bivol can do a belt at 168. It’s not purely based on divisions. It’s also quality of opposition

How can anyone who knows boxing describe bivols style as "awkward." Theres nothing awkward about shifting weight from front to back and fluidly getting on and off the line with perfect balance and precision footwork. Its the most technical style imaginable. There is no more technical fighter in his weight class at the moment. It's the definition of boxing. Get in, do damage, get out. What is robert talking about "awkward?" This coming from the guy that trained Maidana, one of the most awkward fighters in the last decade. If he could have trained maidana to have half of the weight shifting quick on /off the line technique that bivol has, maidana may even have beaten floyd! Thats the exact technique maidana was lacking that night.
Robert is also grossly underestimating beterbievs skills. The quick take narrative is that Beterbiev is just a power puncher and nothing more. But if you actually watch him, As Pita said, you see he also has great skills. Precise technique, excellent ring IQ, solid footwork and amazing timing. He's way more than just a "bear wrestler."
You would think someone who got trainer of the year would know the sport just a little better. His take is so off that it almost makes you question his boxing knowledge a little. Maybe Robert was just tired or in a bad mood, but his take on Beterbiev is so biased that it really sounds more like jealousy or sour grapes that its not his fighter, than it does an experienced trainer giving an honest assessment of one of the greatest fighters of this generation and what makes him so effective. Glad Pita jumped in to push back on that bs "beterebiev is just power" narrative.

Bivol will do great but every time Beterbiev touches him a little.bit of life force will be drained. Beterbiev will start off boxing him and people will see how good Beterbievs defence is. Bivols very good as well maybe even better but not necessarily so. After 5,6,7 rounds Bivol dancing feet wont be quite so fast. I don't see it going the distance.

Bivol loses because he's never had to deal with keeping a monster puncher off of him. He can run and move, but he will get hit. And Bivol's going to have to deal with being hit hard and a lot. That alone changes the whole game plan. Bivol is used to dictating the fight. That will be the complete opposite against Beterbiev. He's going to have to run away for 12 rounds and I don't see Bivol winning that type of fight.

You guys need to do some better analysis and research on Beterbiev and Bivol. Just look at their last 5 fights, who they fought and how the fights ended. Check out his sparring partner Lonnie B's interview on FightHype.

That style Bivol has is something Beterbiev has seen over a thousand times in his life. Its the textbook soviet russian amateur style, nothing new for Beterbiev. Gvozdyk was imo a better version of Bivol and we all seen how that fight went.

there are very very few steroids that females can take because of side effects, Baumgardner just happened to test positive for 2 of them, Primobolan and Proviron, these are not things you take by accident in eggs or supplements, this is not a Conor Benn type situation, these weak steroids but they are still steroids
I never understood the Callum Smith hype. He beat a one armed, passed his best George Groves, he beat a career middleweight and again pass his best, Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam. He lost to a European level/fringe level fighter in John Ryder. Also he gave a piss poor performance against Canelo. So to me, where did the hype in Callum knocking out Beterbiev come from.
