March 2001 and the northern end of Marina del Mar is taking shape. Back then, there were no other phases (2 through to 5) of Marina del Mar, so this was just known as Marina del Mar. Later, several other urbanisations by the same developer were added, so this one was renamed as Marina del Mar 1.
