Another example of why we should explain rules to children and not just impose them. Kids are smarter than we give them credit for🙄

That felt surprisingly shorter than it is; kind of wish there was more.

This is a really great story but I hope there's a second part that elaborates a little more

This was enjoyable, but I'm not such a big fan of exposition through a few characters talking and "explaining" everything. A lot of the backstory could have been demonstrated through more nail-biting action

*A chilling tale indeed* from Themascura. 🥶 I also loved "The Cookie Jar" performed recently on 🖤 *Evil Idol* 🖤 Talented author for sure and Steve Gray narrated this creepy story beautifully. He had me gripped and eager to know what was about to happen! I enjoyed his other recent performances on CTFDN too, especially the short story, _Don't Look Out of the Window at Night._ 😱 That's a classic! Look forward to hearing more from Steve Gray 👍 We get to hear the best talent at *CTFDN* 🖤♥️

Yikes! I'm so glad I was born & raised in Los Angeles! 2nd generation. My hubby's 3rd generation LA native. The only things I have to worry about here are general crazy folks, paparazzi, tourists, & rogue Karens. Whew! Dodged a bullet there! I think...

A really, really, excellent, creepy tale. Unlike so many of the "scary" stories on this site, this story actually had an excellent plot, a good story and riveting details. It is refreshing to find a good story that does not depend on needless blood and gore to supposedly make it "scary". . It was chilling and riveting to listen to. Another good thing was that the protagonist survives through to the end of the story, where far too many of the tales on CZcams end unhappily.
The only thing that would have made this story better was some background. What were the "zombies"? We have to assume they could be stopped by physical violence, since the police were effective against them. What was the history of this strange curse? Did anyone know the cause, or the reason? Why did it follow the children of the townspeople? Perhaps the truth of the curse could have been transmitted via the dream like visions that one of the zombies, the Prophet, was said to give people. I would have liked more background, since the adults had to have other stories of the zombies.
Moreover, knowing what they did, why did any of the people of the town have children upon whom the curse would fall? If it was so easy to get away from the curse, then why didn't they? After all, it was not like they had to refrain from sex, just prevent having children, simple enough, medically. Why would anyone condemn themselves to be a virtual prisoner in the town by having children? Excellent story, well written and narrated.

While I enjoyed the story for the most part, there were a couple inconsistencies or errors that seem pretty obvious and should be addressed. First, around 29:45, the narrator said Travis asked question, commenting that his voice squeaked, or something to that effect. The issue is, they are at the police station and Travis was never there. He was in Mellisa’s car, getting his arm broken, etc... I’m not sure if that was an original story mistake or it happened with this narration but that’s a pretty big screw up. The next thing is just a bit of bad writing. If the angel was attracted to heat, the hottest source anywhere near them would have been the hot tub. There’s no damn way a little heat from a recently started car could come close to that. If it’s a heated shelter that hey want, that should be clarified a bit better. The last issue was Mellisa’s fate. If she was never found, wtf happened? She just ran, not attacked first or anything, so I’d assume she just froze to death since there was no reason for anything to chase her. Even if animals got her corpse, you’d thing some kind of remains could be found once things thawed. Outside of these issues, I really did enjoy the story. I wish I could give the author notes so he could clean it up a bit, then it would be great. 😄
