Magnus throwing Kramnik off the scent
again*
Your videos are so well done
Thanks a lot!
Today's video was brought to you by the word "thematic".
Haha
More like "first to the punch".
A 2800-elo engine would never make such a blunder btw, even a 1800-elo engine.
😂
Bots dont have the 'human error '
nice drama, liked the reporters coming by, thanks James
Time pressure does this to anyone. Computer will never do this error of judgement in any format. But thats what make it interseing to watch. Sometime magnus looses are also remainder that he is also human.
Another great video! Good to see the Good the Bad and the Ugly from the best and most creative player, Magnus.
Thanks a lot and yeah hah
I know it's blitz, but I'm still surprised by the amount of relatively simple tactics that were missed by these great players.
Man, he was dominating that entire game. Sometimes it only takes one epic blunder to ruin a great game.
Even Magnus is playing the Botez gambit. Must be sound.
He's just trying to get Kramnik to transfer him on the good side of his list.
Great to know for at least a second time that Magnus isn't completely invincible as white. Despite it being blitz, that pin was well spotted.
That Board they were playing on looks so small maybe just my perception that Blunder was just the kind of move that you have to see they both make so many good moves with little time to think 🤔 but definitely foresee that Thanks for the Game James
People are giving him hell in the comments but look at the time pressure. They were moving like lighting in the end. My brain could barely even visually process the board at that kind of speed let alone compute moves. His opponent was on that move QUICK though!
I felt that. Sadly, most of my games end like that, too.
4:35 deez n̶u̶t̶s̶ knights
hate him or love him, hes still rated #1. and some of your favorite gm's favorite gm.
It was obviously 'mathematically' impossible to make that blunder, like let me make some number up, it was 99.99999999999% impossible to make this blunder.

Nxg3 looks nice, but Nd7 seems to be the crushing response
Nah, Qc6 saves the day with a mate threat on h1. You have to go fxg3, and then Qxd7
@@thomasr2472 nice ... but black only wins a pawn
Magnus speaks superb English; there was no need for those subtitles.
Oh yeah it wasn’t that it was the volume level too low is all!
Please do a 30mins video on saturdays or friday. A recap of all the week's games.
I think that's a lot of work for our content creator.
@@sherylbegby he must refrain from short vids or single game vids. He gat alot of potential to do good on long vids
Thanks for the idea I may do some of that in future for sure
Great dead-pan British humour - and well chosen chess games. (I suspect you are an English person - based on the accent.)
Yes and thanks a lot!
Nervous collapse in commoner's chess language also called a brain fart😂. Hopefully Magnus recovers though but too difficult to catch up Wei Yi as I cant see him falling
Coz magnus is playing two tournaments at the same time. He can't get enought rest.
DOESN’T MATTA. He still won the whole thing lol
Pragg...the magnus slayer. Completely threw him off his game. But magnus will go absolutely beast mode today...i am telling you.
yeah, i also believe todays magnus will be unstoppable,he is going to crush everybody else today
You guys called it well done hah
8:02 I'm under 1000 rated in every mode and I found it, knight to g3.
Boom I was right! Of course I probably wouldn't find it in game:D Though just a couple days ago I found a brilliant move against a 730 rated player. It was a knight sac to make the opponents king extremely vulnerable, I thought it was going to be an inaccurate sacrifice, but it was the engines best move:D
Nice well played 😁
Chamomile tea 🎉
Nobody's perfect. Magnus was under the weather.
Nobody's perfect...yes. but who told that magnus was under the weather?
@@HelloWorld12347 Allegedly he's playing two tournaments...
@@HelloWorld12347 Magnus says that sometimes.
@@DanielixKlimax that was his choice
no wei
As soon as you mention “natural”, it is bad. One piece of advice: only play natural moves (whatever that may be) if they are not mentioned!
Natural means they are visible due to classic chess theory patterns. Computer move means, unobvious, very strange first line moves, counter intuitive against classic theory patterns.
@@uduehdjztyfjrdjciv2160 Yes, watching AI on chess and go I would say there are best and good moves, making you win more often, and worst and bad moves, making you lose more often. That’s just it, how they look like doesn’t matter. You have to learn to read out move sequences correctly and judge their results correctly, trying to find out what makes a move good, especially when it looks weird. AI made the good game so much richer, both professional chess and go players may spend huge amounts of time with their AI-teacher, also to unlearn “natural”.
Guys don't let this video distract you from the fact that Wei Yi just won the rapid section by a full point over Magnus Carlsen and then went on to win 8 out of 9 games in the blitz in one day again dominating Carlsen and the field... and no one is covering it
Yeah amazing but I’ll tell you why, and it sucks I know, cuz no one cares that much. In the past I’ve followed the chess news and video after video just tanks. Each video takes a lot of effort so it’s depressing wheb hardly anyone watches
@@epicchess2021 Yea that makes sense, although in this case I think people will be interested if made aware of how amazing it is and that he's even outperforming a good Carlsen. This kind of performance never happens
Correction...he won 7 out of 9 games, lost one and drew one
@@eyeofhorus1301Wei yi is in great form.... everybody absolutely acknowledges that but can he be consistent with that form for...say over a year...we will have to see.
@@HelloWorld12347 Not many seem to be noticing I scroll thru all the comments on these vids on various chess channels and almost no comments mention wei yi. There should be tons of comments and vids made about him when he's having a performance like this, to fit the achievement
where is Hikaru in the rankings?
He is a streamer silly

@@AikicyoazBut why doesnt he attemd this tournament?
Not playing!
comment for the further reach
thanks as always!
Not magnusificent lol
Magnus looks bloated and tired. Long nights and too much to drink, probably. No other way to explain such an amateur-ish blunderfest but an excruciating hangover.
Early team! 🎉
Heree is yr 1 view
Magnus lol what a noob
Magnus is on the decline
@robinwells5343 Wei Yi is the future of chess he won rapid section by a full point over magnus then won 8 out of 9 blitz games going on an 8 winning streak after losing the first game
too much MC on the channel..also clickbait titles like 'the chess world is reeling' when 'Carlsen wins yet another chess game' would be more appropriate. always enjoyable though
Yeah a bit embellished at times tho I like to think some truth In it and yeah a lot of MC basically because everyone loves watching
You really can't afford to blunder pieces if you want to be good. Dude needs to spend time everyday doing plenty of tactics problems. In no time, his ratings will assuredly go up a few hundred points.
I’m a big fan of the channel but this has become a Magnus games review channel and I’m tired of it tbh
Thanks a lot Yeah I do tons of Magnus mainly because everyone loves watching I will mix a bit as well though thanks for feedback
