I feel this was rushed like a lot of my other videos. Sorry for that! I feel it's okay in this case however, because I was mainly just explaining major events throughout the films.

Here's why Luke was able to resist the dark side while Anakin could not:
Luke didn't have any Sith lords corrupting his mind since childhood. He wasn't born into slavery. He didn't have to worry about his mother since she already died at childbirth. He didn't have a secret girlfriend to worry about. He was old enough to detach himself from his aunt and uncle unlike Anakin who was a 10 year old kid that still needed his mother. Finally, the fact that Darth Vader revealed himself as Anakin played a huge role in Luke resisting the dark side.

Anakin didn't turn back against Palpatine when the dark lord confessed him his lack of ability over life manipulation just after Mace's death by the sith lord's hand and his involvement because he thought that he had commited a sin so grave that the rest of the jedi would severely punish him even if he repented.

Luke didn't go through ANYWHERE near as much as Anakin.

Answer: Luke hadn't experienced what Anakin had experienced in his life. Whole reason behind why Luke became a Jedi was to save his father, not end up like him.

I don’t know, there are just SO MANY variables to the equation. Anakin and Luke were similar in many aspects, just like Yoda said. Anakin did not have close ties to family and friends while Luke did. Anakin became a Jedi, hoping to free his mother and the other slaves. He was afraid for their future. This much was apparent to the Jedi council when they sensed FEAR in him; “Fear is the path to the dark side … fear leads to anger … anger leads to hate … hate leads to suffering.” For Anakin the Dark Side held promise to set things right, especially with Palpatine goading him on as a surrogate father. He wanted to see an end to the infighting inside The Republic, even if a strong hand was required, as he told Padme in Attack of The Clones.
Luke had seen the tyranny and violence of the empire firsthand when he returned home and found the burning skeletons of his Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, murdered by Vader’s storm troopers. He had seen the full fury of the dark side, manifested in the untold suffering inflicted upon billions of people by the empire. Luke became a Jedi with a resolve of destroying the empire. But he maintained close relationships with people around him, keeping the faith as it were. With the shock of learning Vader was his father, his resolve became somewhat abated, yet he never lost focus what the empire was. By the time of Return of The Jedi Luke saw Palpatine the epitome of the empire and the evil it represented. He almost surrendered to his hatred of Palpatine in his fight with Vader until he observed the severed robotic hand of Vader. Looking at his own amputated hand he realized the same fate awaited him if he turned to the Dark Side.
For some people power over others seems the way to get things done. For people brutalized by the abuse of that same power, it becomes a thing to hate and a reason to take arms against it, defensively, not offensive.

I'd say Anakin's slave upbringing is a huge milestone for anyones personality, and all the loss he faced up to the point he eventually fell to the Dark, Anakin's situation was a lot more damaging than most others.
That, and when you're THAT OP from the start, then any amount of pressure from any one side would've left a greater impact on anyone.

@@Coleskywalkeryeah freaking no one seems to get that. I keep hearing people be like oh Anakin was more just feisty and aggressive and whatever and some have said he had the kindness of his mother that Luke did but no Anakin was kind he was just attacked from all sides.

Luke was free from years of manipulations at least. Then even in his own darkness he could always remember what is the difference between good and evil.

Luke didn't want to be with Darth Vader, he wanted to turn him back to the light side, which he was fortunately able to accomplish.

In the Dark Empire comic trilogy Luke joins the Emperor when he finds Palpatine alive once more in a cloned body because he realizes Sidious is so immensely powerful that he must temporarily surrender to the dark side if he wants to fully terminate the sith lord.

Ummmm. Oh yeah b/c Luke wasn't victim to a dogmatic order which was way too strict, unrealistic in their views, arrogant, prideful, and who's mentality for the most part was way too old and outdated. Face it, The Jedi Council set Anakin up to turn to the Darkside.

    • @arturferrao7353
      @arturferrao7353 Před 11 měsíci +4

Yes. I don't know why people don't see the obvious. Jedis didn't had the emotional maturity to deal with confusion, fear or anger.
They did also believed that turning to the dark side was permanent, even though normal people freak out and then calm down on a daily basis. Anakin had years to say "no" to that evil nonsense, but he didn't because he believed that was impossible.

If you follow the crappy logic in Revenge of The Sith, the Emperor never had time to properly groom and seduce Luke like Anakin.

I agree, going through his life makes sense why he fell, but ultimately he fell due to a fear of loss. See Luke on the other hand, his only loss would be the inability to redeem his father, he had faith in light to bring him out of the dark, however anakin had felt the light had betrayed him, and the dark would allow him to regain control over his life and save Padme. Strangely enough, they both focused on “ending the war” anakin doing so as himself, and oddly enough as vader. Not sure why the sith always said that, when war was all they live for, perhaps manipulation, but yeah, he simply fell due to his fears amplified by palpatine, once he tasted that raw power, he already planned on killing him, and when he was defeated, rebuilt, too much damag3 had been done to ever come back from… he lost everything, and he then embraced his new life as vader as he had nobody left to turn to except his new master… or so he thought…

Padme. Thats it. Anakin only did what he did to save her. Now, it went very very wrong, but he didnt do it for "power" at first. Luke didnt have that.
