Here's the thing, When playing a Violin, it is important that your music reading skills match your playing skills, it's as important as basic reading skills, you won't be able to rely on these things for long, if you rely too much on these, it'll bite you in the back
I learned how to read music as a kid, but this is so fun playing tab!
They make the the songs easy and simple and readable😺👌👍

This is so helpful...almost given up on trying to learn the violin until I came across this...thank you. Finding it so difficult to teach myself how to read music...now I can learn by numbers ! Have you heard 'Jo A Ram' play this on the electric violin...it's on CZcams. ? It just blew me away. Thanks again for this, and stay safe in these troubling times, regards and respect from the U.K.

I think it would be a good idea if you added what the note is, it doesnt really teach you how to read a sheet, although I do like these guides
HI, Great question... and do please remember that I'm not a music teacher, I'm not even that good a player.
And Yes. I think that everyone should learn to read sheet music, (and there are loads of good music teachers on CZcams that do that).
But as I have a love of Folk music. I think that you should also try to learn music by ear. Long before 'average' people could read or write... they would teach each other songs 'by ear', memorizing it.
'I think' that is how you become a better player, and that's how new songs get made...
If you can play by ear, you will start to add bits of this song with bits of another song... and hay. You just made a new song. :)
Anyway... just me, just my thoughts.
Where I agree that people should learn to play by ear it would still be extremely helpful if instead of a red dot over the note it just had the name of the note on the finger board.

Ik, I can't understand what my violin should sound like, Right now I'm gonna learn music sheet.
Hi, so, so when I’m using this it works like a charm. So how I make it “sound right” is I listen to the actual song and kinda remember it in my head, then I turn the volume down for the vid and play along. Another trick is when u r playing and the Bit that doesn’t sound right comes try changing the notes or adding more bow strokes bc that seems to help me a lot.

In this case, you may be pressing to soft, or hard on the strings with the bow, or your violin is out of tune. You can tune it using the small round pieces below the bridge. Or the pegs at the top near the nut. If this is the case, do either after getting a tuner, or a piano, Or really any instrument. If you get good enough at tuning, you can even tune just by ear.

all the other strings work fine, but the d strings sounds bad and is unresponsive
Sorry, I missed this one, without seeing, hearing it. It's hard to say. Sometimes just a good clean, to get any old Rosin off the string can help. But it could be a number of things.
