Darklord Despia | Decklist Testing | *EXPERIMENTAL NON-OPTIMIZED* | Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel

- NO DECKLIST at the moment due to it being kind of bricky with random rations and just testing out the cards, also, did not get a good chance to showcase them in these replay highlights but will hopefully be able to do a follow-up!
Tech options I chose for this Darklord Despia Decklist variant were primarily from the arrival of Spell Cards: Duality and Shadow's Light (technically chaos support cards) from the New Selection Pack: Inherited Unity. These cards are interesting options in theory as they can facilitate bringing out Extra Deck and Main Deck options and even help OTK but can be very situational at times. I did prefer Duality over Shadow"s Light since it is more versatile and do not lose your battle phase but Shadow's Light can be very good turn 1 where you do not have a battle phase and can use it and can even perform the Kristya Lock (I usually try to use it as last resort, but to each their own)
I also tested out "Book of Moon" type cards as they will be very good in the upcoming Meta, as well as a strong general interruption. Yet again, I did not like them as much as the original or will be switching them out for other options due to being very situational at times.
The one card that I much liked having and was very versatile is Ret-time Reviver Emit-ter (might tech in 2 copies) due to the built-in Book of Moon effect while a the same time being able to special summon itself and being a tuner gives the ability to use more additional Synchro strategy options.
Lastly, I threw in a small Agents package which proved to be very useful in extending plays and providing a form of removal/destruction of opponents' field.

Really enjoyed some of the combos here, the extra deck becomes a bit more intresting with Duality in it.

There are some really cool plays that can be done with them but haven't been able pull them off consistently yet; but they can be fun though when it works 😎🔥

Some of the high level darklord monsters have a common effect of being able to summoned only once per turn, most probably to prevent any superbia loops. But one thing i found out is that darklord (DL) morningstar can summon 2 of the same DL at once, and it counts as 1 summon. Its really easier with condemned DL because you can always banish your usual maxx c's, ass blossoms or any other hand traps to tribute summon morningstar
Knowing that, i came with a play where i use indulged to give more monster to the other side of the field to summon 2 ixchels, to then use them to xyz summon the rank 10 spider, which increase the atk/def of all monster equal to the difference between LP, and since this deck pay a lots of 1000 for activate effects from the spells/traps from gy, i can make a lot of monsters with 2000 - 3000+ attack.
Mix that and Nergal's applied effect,that gives piercing damage to all *fairy-monsters* (main deck despians included) and i made my biggest brain moment against a eldlich player. i did what i said above, plus capricious DL to lower the atk of the golden lord, PLUS used Sanctified DL to negate the effect of the first DL and gain its attack as LP (note: his atk was 4000 + the difference between LP, which was around 3000). Its a shame that the other player scooped and i don't have the replay anymore.

I added greater poly to increase true darklord defense. Kinda tight now to add duality '-') but look promising
That is very true and has been a while since I've used it and have been really considered adding greater poly back in, I might try running it again and seeing how it goes 👍
@@avengedchaos7 it works well during fairy vs fiend event against labyrinth loander decks.
I think with both of the spell cards, you can actually speed summon chaos angel and other synchro summons. Where Chaos Angel can make your other synchro immune to effects
That's is what I am running currently since the chaos synchros have very good synergy with them

I got my own copies of Duality & Shadow's Light. I tried using them in my Branded Darklord deck and after some testing, I took out Shadow's light and kept Duality.
I'm trying out 2 Duality and 1 Shadow's Light but that is what I will probably end up doing since skipping battle phase is a big downside. Plus I think Duality will be so much better once the new Branded support comes out and if they ever unban Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon
Didn't expect that putting face-down would made "forget" Astral Kuriboh of all things, thought it was tied by being an Xyz material, nor First "reviving himself" through Superbia
Interesting duels, Comedy really came out handy eh?
Honestly, I wasn't sure if it would work either, so it was worth a try. The First Darklord can actually even revive himself without using Superbia after using the Comedy effect to tribute it and is a really good combo when needing to dodge effects in certain situations but highly risky.
Definitely! That is also one of the reasons I have been main decking Comedy for a while now instead of running just three Tragedy as it has come up clutch many times🔥

How do you have so many Royal? Just keep pulling from the same pack and praying to the RNG gods?
I think they may have made the royal pull rates worse or harder to get because I have not had much luck lately anymore and when I finally do pull one it is either the one least played or out of the pack

I Like dark Lord so much, but sadly it is in alot of matchups so weak, ixchel is the strongestes dark Lord and she is totally based on luck, morningstar is an awsome card with a sick Design and a cool effect but with for its field wipe it needs Set up
I know how you feel! Hopefully they release more support soon that makes playing pure Darklord competitively viable. The aesthetics of the archetype, including the forbidden/condemned cards, are what first got me into them 🔥
