The Mr. Men Show English Dub Comparison

  • Hello Dillydalians!
This video will be showcasing the original American dub done by Chorion and comparing it to the British dub done by Milkshake.
I do know a video like this already exists that was made years back, but I wanted to use the same clips for comparison so it's easier to compare, along with using flags instead of text so you would get the difference easier.
Mr. Rude and Mr. Scatterbrain are missing because they retained their voices in the British dub. Mr. Funny never spoke at all in the series, so he's also been left out.
Please leave a like, comment, and subscribe!

I’d say that the American voices are definitely a nice addition for the people who aren’t aware it’s a British series first and foremost, but the U.K voices are probably more faithful to the original vision.

I definitely prefer the UK Dub, I think the voices suit the characters more and the voice actors do a much better performance (amazing performances) than in the US. Miss Sunshine, Miss Giggles, Miss Naughty and Miss Helpful's UK voices are a lot cuter and fit their characters more and I love them. Also Rob Backstraw's passionate performances are great. I love Mr. Happy's Season 2 voice which he did (he goes in so hard) which you did not include on the video (in opposed to Simon Greenall's horrible, bland boring Mr. Happy voice in Season 1). Mr. Nervous and Mr. Lazy's voice are much funnier and work better in the UK (they are by the same voice actor in the UK). I also think that the UK voices suit the character designs aswell. Although, I do like Mr. Stubborns US voice aswell as his UK voice. The only US voice I prefer is Mr. Tall. His US voice is hilarious while his UK dub is: bland, boring and lame.

Mr Lazys UK voice is my favourite in the whole show and really helps with him being my favourite character in the series in general. Idk if it’s just nostalgia but compared to Phil Lollars take on him which feels kind of odd and sounding similarly to Patrick Star (though I guess it does fit his character cause he’s lazy?), I became fond of Tim Whitnall’s take on Mr Lazy more. He presents Mr Lazy the way he’s supposed to be while giving him an adorably hippie/stoned presentation which makes for a more unique take. Even if people don’t agree I recommend checking out more of his voice work because he’s got quite the vocal range and can really pull of some great expressions!
