To this day, I still wonder how Eggman could outrun Sonic albeit for 3 seconds.
I think this animation tries to justify it by making Sonic worn out from his fight with Silver Sonic

Props for making tails always lag behind, killing random badniks, and constantly getting hit like in the original.
I love how Eggman slowly upgrades his machine from propeller blades to rockets to levitation
I really love it when you show the action from a forward, three-quarters, or top-down direction. Just lets me visualize the 2D environments in a brand-new way! Also, the detail of Eggman controlling Robo-Sonic with a Genesis controller is just *chef's kiss*.

Tails dying about 20 times in Metropolis zone is an accurate detail.
Tails can be helpful tho. I used him to destroy the Chemical Plant boss, he struck 6 times turns out. He also helped me with a couple hits in Hill Top boss.

The fact that they warped to a desert headed to oil ocean explains why Mitage Saloon is an act in Sonic Mania, Makes sense!

Yes Mirage Saloon is a zone that created from the scrapped Dust Hill Zone of Sonic 2 and if you take a look on every bar in Mirage Saloon, there is a blue bottle with the letters SH2 on it. The creators of the game, made this bottle as a reference on Dust Hill. The SH2 letters are representing “Sonic the Hedgehog 2”
@Carlos HCR2! yes of course. That was the plan back then. I’m Happy they did that in Mania.
Before this idea there was a plan of time travel like Sonic CD and Desert Hill was supposed to be the past area of the industrial zones. There was a plan of 4 or 5 industrial zones and between them were the Metropolis Zone, Chemical Plant, the scrapped Genocide City and some others.

@Alan Bwayo no they just keep the desert theme and some ideas from that zone. Mirage saloon is a brand new level as they said.
I loved how Eggman was controlling Robo Sonic with what seemed to be a Sega Genesis controller! Love the detail
Seriously Pedro that's some great work here. I felt really gutted at the beginning of Flying Battery Zone for the first time cos I thought Tails had been killed off. Made the ending better because you saw him alive

@@iron5408 True, but I think the reason why some of them were missing is because it wouldn’t sound right like in those special stages. It would just sound weird if he just switched the soundtrack for 5 seconds. Idk if that makes any sense.

Never thought I'd see the Western story of Sonic 2 be adapted for the intro. Not bad at all. Overall, this was a very nice animation with so much effort put into it. You get an A for this.

This surely does takes me all the way back to my Elementary School Days when I was Introduced to Tails and still looking forward to seeing him again In the 2nd Movie unless the main games.
The 2020 Sonic movie was brilliantly assembled. Tails will now be a part of it.
The live-action video game movie curse has finally been lifted. Detective Pikachu helped open that door 🚪 for Sonic to come racing in. A sequel to both films are now on the way while Mario is next in line. So...

Amazing and smooth animation! Lots of nice detail was added. I liked the extra touch of Metropolis Zone being the one zone they got hit repeatedly in. That's incredibly accurate for how that level goes lol.
5:53 I like the partial addition of the two removed levels to work as plot.
No matter what i will always cry during anything that involves the plane zone or sky chase I believe its called act 1 music always makes me cry no matter where i am😢😭 Its truly a sad zone

all these videos truly makes me appreciate the music from sonic games and makes me realize no game from it's time are touching them.
I've seen a couple comments mentioning cool details but i seen nobody mention ashura (the glitch hog) appearing when sonic ran past the waterfall in emerald hill, now THATS a cool reference even paying homage to the fact that it was waterfalls in emerald hill that caused the glitch in the first place
I just realized he said "I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG!!!!!" when Sonic defeated him at the end

Metropolis's badniks (Slicer, Asteron and Shellcracker) are among the most annoying enemies in Sonic The Hedgehog 2 lol
