What is a phrase?
A phrase in English is a group of words that does not have a subject-verb combination. And since it does not have the subject-verb combination, it does not stand on its own and give a complete meaning. It is just a part of a sentence or a clause.
Some different types of phrases examples:
The company needs some great minds in the marketing team.
This is my first trip to Auli.
The man standing next to you is my friend.
I have never seen a girl with no tantrums.
Dancing in the rain makes me happy.
You need to learn from your debacles.
She might love me again.

At about 17 minutes in you have for example "They have been sleeping since last night.". You said that have+been are both aux verbs and sleeping is the main verb. This confuses be because how do you know "sleeping" is not a gerund acting as a subject complement and "been" is the main verb?

Thank you for the great tutorial. Really appreciate your effort to make such a complete video. I have a question. I have heard statements like 'He waiting for others to join' or 'Atmosphere getting hot and humid as time passes'. These kind of statements are mostly noticed in live commentary. What do these statements have - a participle phrase or gerund phrase just after subject without any BE verb? In the first statement the subject 'He' follows 'waiting for others to join'. What kind of sentence or phrase is this? Can you put some light on this?
They are fragments, improper grammatical parts.

After watching this video,i went to your website for more information about participle phrases and I saw this sentence
your friend died in a car accident came in my dream yesterday
Here the phrase '' died in a car accident''' is a past participle phrase
But if we use a relative clause then it will be '' your friend who died in a car accident:'' and I watched your video on reduced adjective clause where you mentioned that if there is '''who+V1/V2 form it will be reduced to ing form like :::dying in a car accident :::
So is this correct '' died in a car accident''' or we can say that sometimes we cannot make a relative clause from a past participle phrase

The reduction of an adjective clause to a particle phrase (present or past) depends on the tense of the adjective clause and subject.
Examples:
The man who is looking at us is a thief.
The man looking at us is a thief.
If the verb of the adjective is in simple present, the present participle can be formed.
The man who lives with you is very talented.
The man living with you is very talented.
Past participle phrases are formed (from adjective clause) when the adjective clause (generally) is in the passive voice with a past participle tense.
The car that was stolen last night was very expensive.
The car stolen last night was very expensive.

Sir, according to oxford dictionary, the definition of phrase does not have finite verb. Why do you use finite verb as verb phrase?
It shouldn't have the combination of the subject and the verb. One of the two can be there.

Thank you, Ashish, for having loaded a "comprehensive guide for a very strange language", in my opinion overrated. I have been trying to learn it for years as a self-educated (old) student, but the logic of this language is that... has no logic. For example, the definition of "phrase" you wrote at the beginning was "2. it does not have a subject-verb combination", but the 12th phrase type has a subject-verb combination (for example "her mother being sick"). According to the rules of my native language, "being sick" is a verb, better, a "predicate nominative" with a linking verb (Her mother IS sick). I can't find any reasonable and coherent rule in this strange English. Anyway... thank you again for your huge work. I will spent much time for studying it.
Being is not functioning as a verb there. It can't be alone. It has to be combined with an auxiliary verb to function as a verb.
