First 5BF success in 5 years -

After 38 consecutive official DNFs, I finally got another success. And it's PR... but only by ~16 seconds.
I got my first sub-10 officially (and ever) in 2017, then decided to improve my whole system (for all blind events, especially multi) by redoing my letter scheme and learning 3-style. That process took a long time due to being busy with other things, and so for a year or so after that I was extremely slow due to using mostly intuitive comms.
Then once I finished learning 3-style, my success rate went down and never really recovered (at home or in competition).
So I spent 6 years switching my system, learning 3-style, and practising 3-style, just to improve my PR from 9:50 to 9:34. Doesn't really seem worth it when you put it like that. But my PB is 6:48, and this solve had numerous mistakes, so hopefully it doesn't take another 6 years to beat it.
In this solve, I somehow thought I didn't have corner-midge parity when I actually did, so I didn't solve wings into UF-UR swap, meaning I had to swap them at the end which threw me off because I never do that. I also forgot midges for a while, and accidentally executed some x-centers as +-centers and had to undo that. Plus everything (memo and exec) was just generally pretty slow and full of pauses.
It's also frustrating to have been so close to a mean twice in 2016, and to now struggle to get a single success.
