This music video actually serves another purpose.. it's full of ester eggs and clues for fans to decode and figure out... The dragons hint at the lyric "I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you" in a song called Long Live from her album Speak Now(possibly the one she might be rerecording next)
The dragons were not destroying the castle, they were flying and breathing fire. Oh boy, the prince is Jack Antonoff (whom Taylor has worked with). The queen is actually a famous make-up artist, the portrait to the left was Zoe (emphasis on the e) Kravitz (her father is Lenny Kravitz famous singer) the portrait on the right is Sam Dew, (Taylor has worked with him before) I believe Zoe and Sam have some co-writing credits on some of the Midnights songs. Back to the end, the song playing in the ending was Long Live, it is a song Taylor wrote for her fans, and some of the lyrics refer to fighting dragons. In the beginning of the MV, the background song was Enchanted, both of these songs are from her Speak Now album, these are easter eggs (clues) Taylor's way of letting fans know something is coming up. There were other easter eggs, but the list is too long, anyway, they all point to the possibility of Tayor releasing her next re-record of her 3rd album Speak Now.

btw one thing about taylor swift is that things are never coincidental and even the things that look inconsistent serve a purpose😭 every single thing in this music video is an easter egg for the next re-recordings. the elevator was to point out that speak now which is her 3rd album was coming next (she pushed the purple button 3 and the button 13 was also purple). the 1920s new york scene is all blue and a whole reference that 1989tv is the re recording that will follow speak now tv. the dragons werent destroying the castle and were a reference to Long Live, and if they were destroying the castle then it could be a reference to Castles Crumbling (both are tracks from speak now tv)
The dragons are an easter egg about about her next album, and also represent her 3 cats wich I'd guess are equally destructive haha
