I’m Dr. Kristen Galloway, a licensed occupational therapist and Dementia Care Specialist. I own a private practice Florida where I help individuals with dementia remain independent and safe in their homes for as long as possible. I also provide caregiver training to make caregiving easier and less stressful for family caregivers.
I created Dementia Care Hub when I saw that there were so many family caregivers who were overwhelmed and struggling to find resources to make caregiving simpler.
I hope you find my videos useful. Feel free to comment with suggestions for future video topics. Thanks for all you do as caregivers! It takes a lot of love, compassion, strength, and effort to provide care for someone with dementia. Hats off to you!

As a young nurse un 1972 l helped a grandma make small pom-poms. We glued on felt beaks, eyes, feather wings and tails. The finished little birds were hung from a branch as a mobile for a new grandchild.
Great craft! Thanks for watching!
My mom enjoys flowers so I grew lots of flowers for her to cut and arrange. She also like to clean the vegetables that I grow in her garden. I usually pull the carrots and green onions give them a quick wash and leave them on the counter for her to clean.
I love this! What wonderful ways to help her stay engaged in things she enjoys! Thanks for sharing!
So glad I stumbled upon your video, I’ve been searching for new activities for my aunt. I’ve just ordered one of the 13 piece puzzles and plan to order the Re-usable paint pages. Thanks for sharing.
So glad you found the channel. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
I'm gonna try some of these ideas. Thanks! 🌲
Thanks for watching!
Some great ides there - thanks.
I tried to get my Dad to do jigsaws, at first he wasn't interested, but I chose one of his favourite topics, the HMS Endeavour, a famous old sailing ship, we kept at it for ages, but towards the end, his inability to see different shades of blue brought him unstuck, as the top third of the jigsaw was a cloudless sky!
The next one I've lined up is of Durham cathedral, another of his all time favourite things - we'll be starting that one tomorrow. The first puzzle was 1000 pieces, so I've dialled it back to 500 for the next one, so it doesn't seem as daunting - (for both of us)🙂
I love the way you are personalizing the activities to your dad’s interests and abilities. Way to go!!
Thank you. My best friend the same age as me was diagnosed with this about 3 yrs ago. He was just out in a I guess its a care center. Its so sad to see him not remember when we were youger. We're both only 57. Keep up the great work.
I’m sorry to hear about your friend! It’s a devastating disease for sure. Thank you for watching my videos and commenting. All my best to you and your friend!

Hello there, thanks for these videos. Super helpful. Planning on perhaps making a video for blind dementia patients? Thank you so much for these videos.
Yes, I can make a video about blindness and dementia. Please let me know if you have any specific questions or challenges.
I’m really looking forward to this !
Let’s not forget that in the later stages, they tend to put anything that can fit into their mouth. You’d be surprised how quickly it can happen.
The sound is VERY low :(
Thanks for your comment. This video is one of my earliest, and I definitely didn't have the best equipment! I have a new microphone that should help improve the sound quality on newer videos. Thanks for watching!
Its annoying to notice some people don't have enough manner! Appreciate and be thankful first. For me the sound is GOOD ENOUGH. Thank you for your effort for posting it. I am Occupational Therapist in Germany (called here "Ergotherapeut"). All the best!
Thanks so much for watching. I am honored to have a fellow OT view my videos! All the best to you!
