Hmmm... You have a number of posts on which I have comments so I will put them all here!
Considering this video and your recent unfortunate split with Jo, my experience with the women in my life is that they generally like to have nice things, live in nice places and often have this biological urge as they get older. If your views don't align close enough with theirs, there can be conflict....enough said!
On the race engine, I think I said elsewhere that I was struggling to see how the rattle gun could cause significant damage and that turned out to be the case.
As for parting out the car, I can sympathise with that as I have come a similar conclusion with some of my cars. I painted both my older cars only to have the bodies trashed by storm (hail and tree) damage. I finally looked at them and decided I can't do all that work over again so I am selling them and one other car to fund a new project. I don't like using the E90 as a daily and it needs cosmetic work so I decided to indulge an old wish...to have a 'hot hatch' as my daily. Over the years one car has consistently had that particular reputation... the VW Golf GTI. Accordingly tomorrow one will arrive here, a Mk6 in very good condition and very cheap but for one problem. The timing chain tensioner failed, the inlet cam sprocket jumped a few teeth and all the inlet valves got bent! It has been borescoped and looks fine inside. The car comes with all parts needed for the basic repair (chain kit, valves etc..) as well as an updated turbo unit and some other expensive spares. I will be pulling the engine and refreshing a fair bit of it. As the (DSG) gearbox will be off, I will probably get that freshened with new clutches and seals.
Any recommendations for cylinder head work? The people I used to use (15 yrs ago!) have all gone so I am looking for someone reasonably priced to refurbish the head as necessary. Any thoughts??

Hi Tim , head work can be done by a few shops around, TW engineering next to me can do a decent machine job, my guys not taking on new customers as his busy asf, as for the home not being up to the wants of a lady you are right and the complaint was always that it was "draining " it's not exactly luxurious but it has provided me with a decent life for 10 years now and has been instrumental in accomplishing all my goals and more. The future can only get better and as the funds are there to spend at some stage I'll buy a piece of land and build my forever home 🙌 as for toys I'll finish my M3 and tow truck so I can take it interstate and show it off 😊😊😊 Tim your always welcome to stop in the shop for a coffee and a chat 👍
