All the help from such an honest mate is hard to find in these times. Thanks, such mates are diamonds in times when others think only of themselves. Humanity is richer with people who care.
Your my mate of course I'm going to make that dream happen, the last 10 years you've been more of a Dad to me than I ever really had , words can't tell you how thankful I am of your support and friendship 🤗

@@neil7498 not to shabby, next step is build my own flow bench and step up seriously
I think the aluminium tank is a great feature. I've seen videos of old rusty compressor tanks blowing up due rust. I solved the noise issue by relocating my compressor outside in a garden shed. I also installed a diy drier made of a car AC condenser. It works really well. Vertually no water enters the tank.
@@tiitsaul9036 it's only 3mm thick so it does bother me but I may put it into its own enclosure at some stage for safety reasons and to make it even quieter

Fuuu ck I get how wrecking yards work and it’s a ruthless game but if only some of them had a brain and did some quick research… they screwed themselves out of some good money.. Can only imagine how many rare cars have gone to scrap like that 😢
@@Drewchinnick68 I have given the owner my phone number to ring but they didn't ring 😂😂😂 there scrapping all our parts cars and the public think it's fine 😢
Hmmm... You have a number of posts on which I have comments so I will put them all here! Considering this video and your recent unfortunate split with Jo, my experience with the women in my life is that they generally like to have nice things, live in nice places and often have this biological urge as they get older. If your views don't align close enough with theirs, there can be conflict....enough said! On the race engine, I think I said elsewhere that I was struggling to see how the rattle gun could cause significant damage and that turned out to be the case. As for parting out the car, I can sympathise with that as I have come a similar conclusion with some of my cars. I painted both my older cars only to have the bodies trashed by storm (hail and tree) damage. I finally looked at them and decided I can't do all that work over again so I am selling them and one other car to fund a new project. I don't like using the E90 as a daily and it needs cosmetic work so I decided to indulge an old wish...to have a 'hot hatch' as my daily. Over the years one car has consistently had that particular reputation... the VW Golf GTI. Accordingly tomorrow one will arrive here, a Mk6 in very good condition and very cheap but for one problem. The timing chain tensioner failed, the inlet cam sprocket jumped a few teeth and all the inlet valves got bent! It has been borescoped and looks fine inside. The car comes with all parts needed for the basic repair (chain kit, valves etc..) as well as an updated turbo unit and some other expensive spares. I will be pulling the engine and refreshing a fair bit of it. As the (DSG) gearbox will be off, I will probably get that freshened with new clutches and seals. Any recommendations for cylinder head work? The people I used to use (15 yrs ago!) have all gone so I am looking for someone reasonably priced to refurbish the head as necessary. Any thoughts??
Hi Tim , head work can be done by a few shops around, TW engineering next to me can do a decent machine job, my guys not taking on new customers as his busy asf, as for the home not being up to the wants of a lady you are right and the complaint was always that it was "draining " it's not exactly luxurious but it has provided me with a decent life for 10 years now and has been instrumental in accomplishing all my goals and more. The future can only get better and as the funds are there to spend at some stage I'll buy a piece of land and build my forever home 🙌 as for toys I'll finish my M3 and tow truck so I can take it interstate and show it off 😊😊😊 Tim your always welcome to stop in the shop for a coffee and a chat 👍
Wow I had no idea all of that was back there
Not many people did 😊 Im doing this like a behind the scenes so people understand the sacrifices made to have the cool cars 🙌
Geez that's some rough news for a thursday
Did your parcel arrive yet ??

Wishing you all the best mate
Time to step up and work harder to make my dreams a reality 😊
Some astute advice and good messaging in there. All the best with the road ahead.
Thanks 😊 hopefully I can help some people with better ways to deal with this stuff
Great attitude mate wishing you all the best!
Thankyou 🙏
That's devastating hearing about the separation. I've gone through some stuff in my life and I can confirm, physical exercise is a great therapy.
No mate that was the whole point in the video, being in control of feelings and life is a big step towards making the life you really want, I value every moment I had with the lady and I wish her amazing things in her future but people need to see the life we love and the time we spend as the most important things, I feel blessed for the people's lives I've shared with them and I have no regrets or sorrow for yesterday only positive feelings and thoughts for my present and future 🙏
Mate that crank and blok is just an absolute peace of artwork!
It all complemented each other, I'll do the same stuff to my M88/3

What a journey.
Crazy ride hey 🥺🥺🥺 worst part no one got to go in the car other than Jo and I,
Of all the fkn things.. at least it wasn’t what you initially suspected.. Any idea what on earth could’ve caused the seat to dislodge?
Either it cracked in situe and fell apart or it dropped out and came apart, unsure what actually happened but it seems like a seat or fitment failure, I've never had a factory seat dislodge so unsure at this stage
@@Grooty79 if the seat just "fell out" wouldnt it sit around the valve and damage the valve ? i thin it broke into pieces and fell down onto the piston.
@@666specter666 either or, it does look like it broke up and dropped in
*that's unfortunate *Carbon buildup seems uneven between cylinders. *Do you have any idea why the seat failed? * She shouldn't be shy getting in front of the camera. Surely she look better than you😂
Wow, such an odd thing to have happen
It had bigger intake seats fitted for the bigger valves, even the best have bad days and it seems that all the bad days were had on this one engine by multiple people 🥺🥺🥺
What cam where you using mate ?
Big roller cam
@@Grooty79 Specs mate ? i made a 2.7m20 back in the day with a 288 Shrick cam and the engine exploded, we had impact marks on the pistons and the intake valve in cyl 2 broke of and was crammed so hard into the head we had to use a crowbar to pry it out of the head :D
@@666specter666 309degree roller 13mm lift, it has Ross forgies that had plenty of valve depth
an unfortunate discovery. however. wasnt you. BIG BREATH!
And wasn't the crank or bearings so another big sigh of relief, butttt this is a issue with an oversized set of seats that were fitted when the 44mm valves were fitted 🥺🥺🥺
@@Grooty79 so new seats installed when assembled and machined? Only thing that makes sense to me is that the seat material was to thin and lost tension under heat and then dropped and you have the result. I feel we could repair that head at my shop I’m in Wollongong. Reach out if your wanting to discuss
@@eurocargarage_1470 thanks for the offer, yes the seats were done when the 44mm valves were done and yes they are too thin, I've measured a cross section of one of the pieces that was in the extractors and it's 2.75mm thickness and should be over 3mm and 45% of it is cut away with the throat cut, the machinist is one of the best in the business and has done all the highest hp na m20 heads in the country so I expected top notch but this has absolutely flawed me and has me questioning if anything will ever go there again,
@@Grooty79 sorry to hear that have you reach out and asked the question to see if they will do anything for you then? I’m sure it will all work out one way or another these things are sent to try us.

That's sad to hear man, I always found your m20 builds an inspiration to building mine. Hope you build better and stronger in the future💪
I'll still do customer ones, I'm going to concentrate on my M88/3 stroker and my M3 build
@@Grooty79 Nice would love to see updates on the M88
The whole shop is being restructured ATM and hopefully I'll have the M3 in the workshop within 6 weeks so I can start mocking up the engine bay, been way to long sitting there with nothing being done, the m88 is getting a lot of good parts, it's a 88.4mm stroker and eagle honda Conrods, next step is I need pistons and then I start on the head, I'm just collecting ATM
You got this Dan. GL!
Motor comes out Sunday for pull down
I like the way you think. A lot of guys would just pull the engine down to work it out but your mind will not rest. Things like this don't just happen. There is always a reason. The hardest lessons are always the best. Well that what I keep telling myself anyway. 😂
I'm going to fix the bottom if it's not bad and I'll sell it on, this was a $25k+ engine to build and I won't be tipping more $$$ in as I've accomplished the angry M20 build just a pitty it was short lived, next builds are the 1963 XL and the m88 e30 M3 😁😁😁 if I don't move on everything else will suffer
been there on some projects. hit a barber. clean up. go out for the evening.
Yep cut my hair and did mindless things, I've worked out a crank and rod solution if the pistons alright so hopefully I'll have it out of the car and apart over the weekend
Fuck aye sorry to hear brother
fuckin BS man, it sucks but thats life.. kicks us in the nuts when we are already down..
Wow, what a harsh lesson. You don't get to being as good as you are without making some mistake somewhere, unfortunately.
you can stop learning when youre dead, you didn't get to be the best without learning :)
I wanted to pull the crank out but tried my hardest to repair it to save Hendrik and in the end he took his own life and the engine broke 😢😢😢 how fucked up
@@Grooty79 the world is definitely a messed up place:( it wouldn't be fun to get to that point as an option :(
At least now I know not to use a rattle gun on an assembled engine.
Man.. fkn cars ey. I’m sorry this happened to you guys, there’s nothing like fighting a losing battle and just when you think you’ve crested and can see the sunny horizon bam.. the road gives out from under you. I hope the m3 rep is nothing but sunshine and rainbows dude, you deserve a good happy build. At least you can pat yourself on the back and say that you built one of the angriest M20’s there ever was.
I've worked out exactly why it happened and I'll put up an explanation video tonight
Feeling for you mate. Keep head up hopefully some coin can help get the m3 together
It's got to buy a better Ute and some M3 funds, thanks
