ON Tuesday, January 16 housemates discuss whether Danielle used "the P word".
JADE: I think I know. I don't think it's anything naughty like that. I think maybe Danielle used the 'P' word.
JO: Really? JADE: Maybe.
CLEO: I don't even know what 'P' word means. Don't tell me, though. JO: You're kidding. That's bad.
JADE: No, I can imagine her saying that under her breath.
JADE: Did you use the 'P' word? DANIELLE: What's the 'P' word? JACK: It rhymes with 'tacky'. DANIELLE: I don't know.
JADE: When the argument was going on, did you use the 'P' word that rhymes with 'tacky'? DANIELLE: No.

LATER that night Cleo, Jack, Jade and Danielle play a limerick game which includes words rhyming with "Paki".
JO: There once was a house that was happy, and then there entered . . .
CLEO: You're all going to go to Big Brother prison.
JO: But it ends with a nappy. What's wrong with you people?
JACK: But if you say, 'Along came some people who were tacky'.
JADE: There once was a house that was happy, until . . .
JACK: They made it really tacky.
JADE: Until there entered a . . . Until there entered a . . .
JO: Strappy . . . Strap-on.
BIG Brother called Jo in and discussed the limerick game.
BB: Jo, it's clear that the rhyming words were references to the racial insult "Paki". JO: Right, okay.
BB: Do you understand that this is considered racially offensive language? JO: Yes.
BB: Jo, Big Brother has no option but to give you your first and only formal warning.
BIG Brother had a similar chat with Jack.
BB: You were using rhyming slang to replace what you called the 'P' word you said rhymed with tacky.
JACK: Okay. BB: It is clear that this was a reference to the racial insult "Paki". Do you understand that the 'P' word is considered racist?

I can see why people would feel threatened by Shilpa if they were the type to bully and were racist because she is so classy, beautiful, eloquent and talented. She is what so many aspire to.

Absolutely. I do hate it when women start picking on other women because they feel some sense of communal inadequacies when comparing themselves to another. I've faced it myself and it's very unpleasant. Shilpa had absolutely nothing against any of them prior to this bs starting, and even after, she managed to carry herself with as much dignity and grace as she went in there with. You're going to meet all sorts of people from all sorts of different backgrounds throughout your life. Instead of drawing lines in the sand and judging, would it hurt people to get to know others before they stick them in a little box.

Something I have been in search for quite sometime is a connection with somebody that goes beyond vanity. It's very hard to do in this day and age. People can be, somewhat very superficial.
On my quest to achieve this I have learnt a lot about human nature. It seems to me that those who are not given traits such as beauty or being wealthy are some of the nicest, kindest and generous people.
While the "gorgeous" and well off seem to be the most arrogant and greedy people out there. Of course that's not to say there aren't beautiful kind people out there.
I've been in the process of change for a while now and I have made some decent changes.

+Jordi7174 Don't know if you watched Big Brother USA Season 8 but Dick's bullying of Jen was terrible, even going as far as to pour ice tea over her head and burning her with cigarettes. He wasn't removed from the house. In fact he was crowned winner (in a heavily manipulated series). That wouldn't have been tolerated in the UK.

Unpopular Opinion: Jo was much worse than Jade. She made more racist remarks, aggravated the issues, bullied Shilpa in a mean girl way, insulted Shilpa’s accent and took ZERO accountability. “My cousins married to an Indian” please 💀 Karma got her in the end though, her career never took off after this.
I agree 100% more so from there exit interviews. Jade never made excuses once she was like “yep that was really nasty” shouldn’t of happened but I really think Jo is a horrible person
I totally agree with you. Jo was the worst, Jade I think felt threatened because their personalities were so different but jo was just plain nasty and never left shilpa alone and actively encouraged the bullying and wasn't even sorry. At least jade did show some remorse.

Jo was the worst of them all, actually mocking Shilpa's accent and mannerisms days before Jade did. At least Jade took accountability later and so did Danielle (partially).
This interview demonstrates how internalised racism is. A person can be racist without realising they are racist. I also agree with the comments. Her saying she has a cousin married to an Indian is akin to a person saying they have a black friend so can't possibly be racist. It's sad that this season was really like a miniature of society and how racism and bullying can manifest and go unchecked.

Every human is racist. Everybody stereotypes subconsciously as this is a result of us trying to recognise patterns of behaviour. It can be bad or good depending on it’s usefulness. For example, people of certain nationalities or skin colours are generally more susceptible to certain conditions and illnesses.
The only people who are not racist are those with severe learning difficulties.
Then there are those in denial who feel some sense of gratification out of pushing others in front of the bus, thinking that calling someone else racist alleviates them of their own prejudices or gives them the self-perception that they are morally superior, a form of narcissism.
Jo just sat there denied everything. Acting cocky and didn't even apologise. 🤬😠😡
I still can't see her differently, because she never ever admitted to anything, said sorry or took responsibility for her actions.. Not once did she apologise or admit any wrongdoing. She just tried to justify her behaviour. Jade at the very least, admitted she was wrong and was mortified. Jade admitted that being brought up in a household where shouting (and the rest) was the way people communicated, meant that is what she learned, yet seeing it back made her realise how awful it was and she didn't want her boys to learn this in turn. She was wholly repentant. Jo just sat there denying everything despite it being right there in front of everyone. No responsibility taken - everyone else was there so it wasn't my fault, my cousin is married to an Indian man (how that changes anything I don't know... do your cousins check in on your opinion before they marry someone?)... I laugh when I am nervous... they all said things too... I didn't mean it like that. She could at least have tried to appear remorseful... but no, and I have never to this day seen any repentance. Danielle in her interview just laughed like the pathetic little follower she was. So immature and nasty, and I still think of this when I see her in any interview because she has never ever taken responsibility and/or apologised. "Did you show people who you really are?" "Yes". Well, that about sums that up then.

At least Jade acknowledged and apologised for her behaviour when she realised the damage she had caused. Jo just spent the whole interview dismissing any blame and acting like Big Brother were trying to make her look bad. Comes across as a complete bully here.
Jade in her interview dishonestly did what she knew she had to and said what she knew she had to and appeased, not agreeing anyway still. Jo stuck to her beliefs even though they were wrong and took no accountability because at the time she didn’t understand it but hey at least she was honest.
There was once a magazine headline about Jo which titled, ‘I’m not sorry and I’ll do it again.’

As much as I liked Jo from her S Club 7 days, she really needed to be called out for what she did to Shilpa. She doesn't take responsibility for her actions and sat back and allowed her "friends" to slam Shilpa's culture as she sat back, smoked, and laughed. I can't believe 'Pointless Celebrities' just had Jo on as a guest. Times must be tough. She was really dim too - didn't even know who Paul McCartney is!
It is one thing to laugh but then you counter questioned Shilpa. Don't act innocent Jo. You and Daniella loved hurting her feelings because she was popular with the guys. Calling someone fake, phony, generalising her about her race, her eating habits, her accents - saying Jade made your day by blowing up on her. Forget racism.
