Duraludon isn't actually as rare as that. Every time I've been to the Giant's Seat part of the Wild Area, there has been one around the South side of the rock.

Here’s a tip to make things slightly easier: Use a Pokémon with the ability illuminate to increase encounter rates of rarer Pokémon and have a Pokémon hold the smoke ball to instantly escape.

I think Dreepy is no longer the number 1 rarest Pokemon anymore, I mean, they're the rarest to encounter ingame, yes. But their so common from Surprise Trade, it's hilarious. lol
That Surprise Trade made the most rarest to the most common, I think I got 15 of them today. lol

@Jose Andres Elvir Avila its like £18 for the year and you get loads of old snes and nes games to play for that too. Defo worth it for surprise trade. Have had probably 50 pokemon I didn't have through it including starters and shield exclusives.

Stars are rare on wild encounters.
People are always acting like one is rarer when it is just a thing which shows what method you got the shiny from.

what about Mimikyu? You can only get it by going to giants mirror in heavy fog (which you can get the chance to encounter that wild area weather AFTER you beat the game) and even then it has 1 3% chance to spawn in non overworld only

It's so easy to find Drakloak during Thunderstorms in Lake of Outrage. Going around in a loop to hit each grass patch and spawning all the spawns it has to offer, you can find a Drakloak in just a couple minutes, sometimes multiple spawn at once. And then yeah, like you said, just breed a Dreepy (which is what I am going to do to try to get better IVs now that I have my Munna with the desired nature). But because finding Drakloaks really isn't that bad during the correct weather I am not sure Dreepy qualifies for the top spot since breeding just to fill the pokedex is easy, unless you're only ranking based on spawn rates/conditions.
I found a dreepy on my first ever max den, shes been in my party forever lol i loved using her in the expansion packs ans main game. i never even knew how rare she wastill i showed her to a friend the day after i got her lol

A tip for finding Turtonator and Drampa is that they are only Surprise Encounters and that your chances of finding them are highly increased if you have a Vulpix or Ninetales in your party
Oh that's wild! I just added a Vulpix from a trade to my team and evolved it, I kept it with me to level up and I just got my Turtonator! I bet thats why. How cool! Thank you

I was trying to farm stones at the lake of outrage and saw a drakloak.. I was like oh wow rare pokemon... hahah uh I got 2 male and female and a dragapult... pretty cool planning to give some eggs away one day

Yeah, catching Sizzlipede can be a pain. I was bummed when I KO'ed Litwick at Motostoke Gym - only to find later that Litwick and Vulpix were both more common than Sizzlipede. Still managed to go back and find a second Sizzlipede later, but it was a bit of a hunt, for sure. Rarity and weather conditions can make hunts challenging, especially when you don't change the date.
I honestly didn't even know Sizzlipede was rare when I got it my first time playing. I got to Motostoke for the first time, grabbed some clothes and changed my hair/makeup, then decided "I'll go try one of these raid battles", went outside and picked the first one I saw, and it was a Sizzlipede. I used it in my party for the entire game. :)

eiscue is a sweeper, once his form changes his speed goes to 130 and after a belly drum on the first turn, its ice cube will go away after taking a physicial hit and take no damage (form doesnt change and takes damage if spk), it is almost impossible to stop with his 4 times boosted 80 atk
Even better, if it Dynamaxes, its Ice Face will *RESTORE.*
Though for an ice sweeper, Darmanitan is probably better anyway. Better sweeper stats both before and after form change, doesn't require a physical hit for said form change, has better physical move pool (along with fire typing change to better use fire physical moves as well), also has belly drum.
(yes eiscue has better access to special moves, but if you're using belly drum, you aren't using special moves anyway)
Apart from the shinies and the cup Pokemon, I encounter most of the Pokemon, on my first try I got Dreepy and Duraludon has also been kind of common for me in Route 10. In general, the hardest and most frustrating Pokemon that I had to get was Feebas in Gen 3 and Munchlax in Gen 4, those two gave me headaches
Spent hours on Eiscue, he was the last Pokémon for a complete dex, my friend caught a shiny Eiscue first time in the route.

Edit: I’ve read the replies and THE SQUARE SHINIES IN THE WILD ARE NOT THE RARE KIND! Square shinies are more rare than stars in eggs but Star shinies are in another 4096 chance on top of the normal shiny chance in the wild

It's funny to find this video now that I started the game, cuz surprised trades are literally filled with dreepys, probably from ppl letting them go while breeding for shiny
On the route to the left of motostoke, sizzlipede has a 1% encounter rate. However, vulpix is also on that route (as an overworld spawn) and has the ability flame body, which significantly increases the chance of finding wild fore type pokemon. Stick that vulpix at the front of your team and youll get a sizzlipede in under 5 minutes. I spent over an hour hunting for a sizzlipede before i knew that, only took a single encounter with the vulpix.
I literally just caught the berry tree Snorlax in a raid like an hour ago, I’m excited! It looks so badass!

I found a Dreepy, lvl 50 at the Lake of Outrage, then I evolved it, with some candies, then a bit after I found it's evolution.
I found out the depressing way about the sinistea not giving "authentic" mons when bred. I was hoping it was gonna be easier to get that shiny
An Eiscue walked up to me when I was camping with my Pokemon and asked to join my team and I wasn't even looking for it 😂 but I'm glad to have one now
Looking at this list, I might be lucky because I was able to complete my dex in 70hrs without having any issues with any pokemon on that list except for game exclusives tho.

On my second or third play through of Sword, I had already made a good amount of progress. I saw a Bisharp in the Wild Area and decide to encounter it and, to my surprise, it was a shiny. I was shocked because that was only the second time I encountered a Bisharp. I also got, by pure luck, a star shiny Lurantis I caught in a Dynamax Adventure. I didn’t know it was a shiny until after I got defeated by the final Pokémon. The final shiny I got was a square shiny Sharpedo.

what i do know is that there is a lot of confusion between star shinies and square shinies.
The first time I ever went to lake of outrage I found dreepys second evolution and got him to evolve after giving him one rare candy and even rotom spawned right beside of it too. I guess I got super lucky lol.

@@giveluminacat10nobles21 It's a "rare encounter" in fog, Gyarados in all weather in that spot. So it's not "fairly often". Gyarados could also be there instead of Milotic with the correct weather.
