      I'm Vietnamese and I just recently know he plays this piece so good.
      But in my country, in my generation, almost no one know him.
      They even don't know who is Chopin.
      My god.
      When Sơn Tùng has an hundred million views.
      And I have no way to hear what he sings ( Even Vietnamese have to read subtitle XD )
      Oh my, poor country inside out, from the soul to material world.

      @@tendangdang4668 I think we shouldn't say classical music is the ONLY good music. I know some piece is nowadays is really nice, like Howl's Moving Castle OST and Two Steps From Hell - Star Sky. There's different ways to express the epicness of human and this universe through music.
      Music always evolution, as far as we can tell most of the music nowadays is trash, just like a bad mutate, which will be extinct soon. And which can survive until 2100 will be the true "classical" music in its time, right?

    This is why he won Chopin Competition 1980. Ivo pogorelich did some wild fire stuff in the Sonata thats why Martha Argerich fought for Ivo. But I think Dang Thai Son is a more sensitive and better Chopin pianist.

    I agree with some of the above comments. I do not understand how this enormous pianist does not have greater fame at a general level (of course in specialised circles he is certainly very well known), but I am referring to the great mass of classical music lovers and in particular of piano music. For me personally, he is a pianist who impresses me.

    Funny, obviously he is playing with Hungarian technique which is barely move his wrist or arm, but his lousy student Bruce Liu completely doesn’t show such solid technique as Dang, Bruce Liu using funny vibrato technique some more, I believe Bruce only took master class from him but not his formal student

    • @tphi1980
      @tphi1980 Před 4 měsíci

      Incorrect on a few counts: Mr Dang was taught by his mother, Mme Thai Thi Lien (who studied with French and Czech pedagogues); and he trained in Moscow. So there is no confirmed Hungarian pianistic influence on Mr Dang's technique.
      With regards to Bruce Liu, Mr Liu studied privately with Mr Dang in Montreal and in Oberlin, if I am correct. Even so, Mr Liu studied with Mr Dang when he was already advanced, so any pianistic peculiarities (which are probably idiosyncratic) likely predate or are independent of his studies with Mr Dang.
