  • Hello friends thank you for watching, this is Norman our European Eagle Owl. He is 6 years old and came to us last year. He has been enjoying the Covid-19 lock down getting nice and chubby and moulting his feathers. But now that we are able to offer our handling sessions again he is coming back into work. This video shows him flying back and forth on his creance line, with only a few distractions from a very active and noisy green wood pecker!!
Dont forget that we offer experience sessions here at Feathers and Fur Falconry Centre where you can actually come and fly Norman and our other birds for yourself. Or if you fancy just a simple visit the centre is open from 10am-4pm Tuesday to Sundays all year round, and is free to enter. Simply visit www.feathersandfur.co.uk for more information.

I love how the owl scan the area like a radar. It never stop to look around. Magnificent living being...

Big respect for using a transmitter even with a creance. Nobody thinks their creance is going to break, but with such a long length of line there’s so many chances to fail. Great job with Norman!

Wonderful video. So glad I found you, we enjoyed our summer experience and look forward to our Xmas one this year. What makes it, for us, is you - along with the birds. Your passion and enthusiasm is infectious. Your delivery and portrayal is exactly what it needs to be - accurate, loving and patient. We have all the time in the world for you and your birds, and will be regular annoyances!

Great video !! What tidbits are you using to train him? My male is very picky and I have yet to zero in on something that gets his attention to fly after he's seen it more than a couple times
